The actual World Record for longest sniper kill is 3450 Meters /3.45 KM /2.2 Miles achieve by a Canadian JTF2 Sniper Team. The 4 man team fired 2 shots in near succession arriving at the target only millimeters apart with one 50 caliber bullet striking the target for the kill with the other being a very near miss. The close proximity of the two shots which were fired almost simultaneously made it impossible for the team to identify which shooter actually got the kill.

Never mind Sniper shot world record it must have been the World Record for the most calmest zero wind zero dust in fact zero anything to do with the weather...
They already adjust for windage, bullet drop, earth rotation etc. Any shot at that range will definitely have wind affecting it. He already made the necessary adjustments prior to the shot.
What I thought a bit strange was that the cross hairs were right on the target, at that range you would have to allow for a lot of drop and aim well about the target.
@@colinfaed5910 the knobs on the scope adjust the scopes position on the rifle for wind and bullet drop, with the right calculations you can adjust your scope to keep crosshairs on target.

3rd longest kill. 1st by Canadians (3,450 m) and 2nd by Australians (2,815 m). Although this could qualify as a record using Soviet ammunition (14.5×114mm) as all previous records used NATO ammunition.
Modern thermal sniper scopes do all of the calculations in an onboard computer, everything is calculated on the fly using a Ballistics computer that range finds the target using a Pulsed LRF. So all you have to do is put the crosshairs on the target, press a button on the "scope", wait a second or so and you get an audible or visible confirmation on the rear of the scope or in the viewfinder and any shot you take hits. Perfect shot every time.
Easy when you got a sniper that has a range of over 2 miles haha the world record before that was the uk soldier Craig who’s rifle only shot 1700 yards and had to lob the bullet to hit his target.
Easy did you say? Have you ever done much long range target shooting ? Regardless of the cal you're using, be it a 50 cal, .338 Lap, 300 win mag, 6.5x47, 6.5 Creedmoor, the range you are shooting at, the target you intend to take out, the elevation you are at, shooting up or down hill, the Coriolis force and effect, the weight speed and bullet coefficiency, wether you are in the norther or southern hemisphere, how close you are to the equator , northern or southern pole, all have to be taken into consideration, before you pull the trigger. So shooting really is easy, wouldn't you agree?
Good lord I pray for these men. All of them. War is a terrible thing and I wish it would never happen but please lord, forgive these men and take them to heaven. I trust you to judge us all and if they are good men I pray to you to take their souls and let them be free of their bonds
