  • Jaime Davis, a Board-Certified Family Law Attorney in North Carolina and partner with Gailor, Hunt, Jenkins, Taylor, Davis and Gibbs explains how Child Support laws work in the state of North Carolina. In most cases the amount a parent has to pay is pursuant to the North Carolina Child Support Guidelines. These guidelines apply when the combined income of both parents is less than $360,000 year and takes into account how much each parent’s income contributes towards the total income of the two parents. The amount of money each parent owes depends on the number of nights the child spends at each parent’s residence, health insurance costs, work-related childcare expenses and extraordinary childcare expenses such as private school or travel related expenses. Jaime breaks all this down and more in this must-see video for parents going through a child support case in North Carolina.
