- Guide on how to replace the blower motor on a Mercedes W201. A failing blower motor can be recognized by a ticking sound when you turn it on, and it may not blow out the air very hard.
I know my English and the video in general isn't the best, but I am only trying to help you.

Your video is clear and to the point; a welcome addition!
I have not been able to disconnect the connector from the blower resistor assembly and I don't want to damage it. How do you disconnect that connector; do you squeeze the sides in, or pry the top pointy tabs outward?
Thanks, Russ
Russ Ward Thank you!
I had to squeeze the sides and use some force to get disconnect it. You probably have to use more force than you think and wiggle it.
Nice post. Which is your car model and displacement ?
What brand is your new motor ? are you satisfied up until now ?
Hi my blower works and then randomly stops working on my 1991 190e. Do you think the blower could be bad or possibly a faulty electrical issue?
thanks 👍
hi i have a Mercedes 190e with a 2.6 motor the blower motor is not working i check the fuse it looks ok is it the same as theMercedes W201 190e
loc645 try removing The connector, put 12 volts to it and see if it starts. If not, then The blower motor is dead.
i know this is way late but ive been trying to replace my fan and ive gotten the new one into place but its not turning on. and im not sure where to start troubleshooting with the electricity
Start measuring The current at The connectors closest to the fan to see IF you get 12 volt electricity. If not trace backwards and continue measuring until you get electricity.
@@BoldCreator i found out it was the resistor that had rusted away so going to get a new one and hope it works from there! thnx
well the new resistor recieves current but the fan still doesnt work so now im sorta out of ideas
@@siiialsd do you get voltage beyond the resistor towards the fan? As long as you get about 12-13 at the fan connectors it should spin.
@@BoldCreator yep i do the fan is brand new maybe the connector isnt on correct
