I had all of Bootsy's albums as a teenager but never saw him live until I was 35( saw funkadelic in 78) but after waiting all those years I went to a show and bootsy reach his hand out to the audience and i missed it, I was like DAM!! But he jump off stage and ran and disappeared into the crowd(to watch the band jam alone) And the next thing I know Bootsy has his arms around me and my lady for about 5 minutes sweating and bobbing his head to the music. I'll never forget that ever!!! OK BYE!!!
Saw this tour in Detroit in 1978, at the old Olympia stadium.... first concert without my parents 7th grade--parents dropped us off lol. First time I smelled weed--there were joints lit up all through the audience lol...concert was doo-doo funky!
I 1978, he came to my city with his Rubber Band, and they jammed their azzes off for real, man i can feel that funk from that Space Bass of his that night!
Capitol Center had the greatest concerts. Saw Bootsy & P Funk there a few times & always left w/my ears ringing. Bootsy played so loud. Where have all the good times gone?
Wow this was 8 years before i was born. Man was i born in the wrong decade for music. This shit is so freaky funky i just grew an afro :) Oh and did i mention im from Cincinnati! Something this funky can only come from one place baby, CINCINNAT!!!
My 1st time seeing Bootsy was @ the L.A. Coliseum.. He was scheduled to come on after the Bros. Johnson who tore it up!! Louis * George swapped guitars right in the middle during their riff on Strawberry Letter 22 ( the bridge).. Anyways Bootzy the character he was wasn't about to appear till the sun was far set which Bros. Johnson were amidst twilight!!! 1977!!! Ghostlyhaberdasheries in effect!!!
This segment remind me of the times everybody got a taste playing instruments in all those basement grooves we did waaaaay back when. Bootsy took that to a whole 'nother level!!!!
BOOTSY was here last year at a funeral and when he got up to say his commentts he said, "Well they told us to only take 2 minutes to speak on Zion bcuz yall know I CAN GO ON AND AN BABA, I ALMOST SCREAMED BCUZ HE SAID IT IN HIS SINGING VOICE. AND THEN HE HUGGED MY TEACHER STANDING NEXT TO ME AND THAT PUT US FACE TO FACE, HE WINKED AT ME IN SOME BADDD AZZZ GLASSES. AND HIS WIFE IS BEAUTIFUL IN PERSON.
Thanks fer posting this one. I had this concert on a cd in the 90s. Had trouble finding this version. My fav arrangement all this time. Now I SEE why. Bootsy is on fire!
tooooo funky this is so groovy,, love it ,,,,,,,, a new refreshing after workking on the opera nigthclub and hearing the lame music from today.... love this yeap
@162berto DAMN FAM!!! That was some cool ass shit!! That same thing happen 2 me with Roger Troutman's last time in Seattle..out of all the people in the house he sat at the table with me and my lady friend...Thank U FAM 4 sharing LOVE!! PEACE!!
Landover as in Landover Maryland? If so, I saw Dead shows there. Many cool folks and OG's in those parts. I was in a funk band in D.C. This is where racism fades away and we're all JB's children. I miss the vibe so much. I live in a yuppie place now. :-(
It's what AntonioMainenti said: The Pinocchio Theory. Bootsy was chanting the One Nation lyric, but they weren't doing the music from One Nation. I assume you were talking about the horns at the end which were definitely from Pinocchio Theory.
anyone know where i can download the live landover performance or get it in mp3 format? id love to have this stuff on my ipod. i like the live stuff over the studio recordings.
You get the feeling that after a few shows, this hot funck just basically *played itself*?? How the heck do you STOP playing one of these tunes on stage?

I was born that year. think my soul just heard this gig and said "gowd damn holy ghost I'm going down there!!" :0)
I feel like I'm back in 1978 looking at this. This is some tight funk!!!
😮
What's that problem
I 1978, he came to my city with his Rubber Band, and they jammed their azzes off for real, man i can feel that funk from that Space Bass of his that night!

Certainly amongst the most sophisticated and complex scores ever. Sublime precision and counterpoint.
That intro is BEASTIN',sends chillz down my spine!!!!!!!!!!
0.54 !!!It makes me crazy ! Bootsy is a BEAST!
I love bootsy and ur energyy
Synthesizers have cleaned music up so much it has no funk that I can even smell.

What will you be doing when you're 27? What were you doing when you were 27?
This is what Bootsy was doing.
This segment remind me of the times everybody got a taste playing instruments in all those basement grooves we did waaaaay back when. Bootsy took that to a whole 'nother level!!!!

Hey if you can find the brides of funkenstein that would be great too. Funkerrific you the man!!!
George and them added this to then end of Knee Deep that Rubber Duckie track.
This whole concert used to be on youtube... too bad they took it down. first 20 minutes was nonstop funkbliss.
Landover as in Landover Maryland? If so, I saw Dead shows there. Many cool folks and OG's in those parts. I was in a funk band in D.C. This is where racism fades away and we're all JB's children. I miss the vibe so much. I live in a yuppie place now. :-(
WHOOO, DAT WAS STANKY!!!
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT
2:22 Maceo on alto sax?
bootsy's too funky for his own good, hes basically soul brother number one
sure would love to see this with the audio and video in SYNC!!!
the so called "artists" nowadays should learn from this intense energy, just look at that head bobin, he really gives 110%
The middle to last part is my favorite.
@162berto Yoy got some home-delivered funk there, mate. That's brilliant!
Thanx because that was killin' me! Is it possible to find this version on CD because when I found this song it was completely different?!?
that is one charismatic human being
Perfect...
Cincinnati Finest! From Blewfoot..
his roadie s outfit alone is amazing
So damn funky!
love❤️
Real Funk!
Awwwww yeah!
Alternative line:
„Get one nation under a roof!“
It's what AntonioMainenti said: The Pinocchio Theory. Bootsy was chanting the One Nation lyric, but they weren't doing the music from One Nation. I assume you were talking about the horns at the end which were definitely from Pinocchio Theory.
and dats RIFFIC!!!!
Its just not done like this anymore! Dedicated to the memory of Catfish
You don't you just let it go and TAKE IT TO THE STAGE

That guy on the drums played for james brown and he is tough!!!
@162berto man...that´s a MOMENT!!!!
Bro where can I find this entire concert? I’ve been obsessed with this and I must have it.
look at his right leg (leftforviewers) there is something living on his leg! Funky BEAST!!!
That is the MOOG SYNTH.
Please dont make me cry.
I'm not sure if this live version is on CD. The studio versions of "Rubber Duckie" and "Psychoticbumpschool" are two of his best works.
you can replace that house with anything positive!!!
P Funk All Stars added this to Knee Deep toward the end
thats funk !
you find one let me know!
anyone know where i can download the live landover performance or get it in mp3 format? id love to have this stuff on my ipod. i like the live stuff over the studio recordings.
Wow, George recuited everybody--I knew about Bootsy, his brother Catfish, Maseo, and Fred but not the drummer!!!
Drivin' that train, high on cocaine....
If I can't do this. I quit. Lol
at the end when bootsys tellin his band to sing, and they dont... id been like, you bitches arent getting paid tonight.
DYNAMITE FUNK!!!
Bootsy and P Funk with James Brown typified heavy funk. Rap in the late 1980s into the 1990s saved Funk. Todays funk is "lite" or I say "Funk Lite".
101% DYNAMITE
Big bro 💯👊 giving you and y'all that twerk , willingly,💖🌞🔥😉🔥🔥
from 5:40 on...Bootsy invents house music!
You get the feeling that after a few shows, this hot funck just basically *played itself*?? How the heck do you STOP playing one of these tunes on stage?
