Just randomly remembered Mayuko and searched her name up, her videos were an inspiration for me starting a second degree in Computer Science 2 years ago and I just graduated and am starting my job search soon, hope she is well :). Love the peaceful warm feelings of comfort her old videos provided me
Hi Mayuko! I’ve being working in DevOps for a while and it seems I’ve been stepping into this gray line in development but to automate deployment of system where apps are hosted/delivered instead of coding for the main app instead. I already wanted to become Software Engineer but I don’t have a computer science studies (although I’ve been working in telecommunications and tech industries for 20+ years). So I’m in this on-going journey of becoming a self-taught software developer and your videos have been encouraging me to keep going for software engineering. They have been very helpful giving me a better perspective about computer science, software engineering, and the like. Keep it up! I really appreciate your hardworking dedication! Thanks!
Today is exactly 1 year since this video and your most recent Instagram post. We hope to see you on these places again. I am glad to see that you are still active on LinkedIn. No matter what is going on, maybe work fatigue, we want you to know that your viewers all care about you! 😊
Mayuko is stil the OG. but it seems like she struggled with a tough crowd sometimes. she was a big no with the whole hustle culture, she would get burned out quick, and that one time she tried to do a live stream on twitch she ended up crying saying the comments were mean telling her she was writing code wrong, then she tried going the content creator way but she ended up going back to getting a job which is not wrong but shes trying out what feels best for her. Perhaps, its better for her to forget about all this and come back when she feels rejuvenated and ready if that happens.
@@rafay_syed Hey i saw your comment and the tagged post you mentioned im happy for her! That could explain her hiatus ive been watching her since 2020 and she played a huge role in my tech journey so im very happy for her! Thanks for clearing that up and its nice to know she’s doing well
Great timing on this video! Three years into remote work, I've been thinking how I can make updates to suit my changing needs. That swipe pad on the Ergonofis desk looks so slick!
I hadn't even realized it was you! You've changed so much and you seem much more happy. You are the same you but your vibes are still as bright as ever. Thank you for sharing you new setup! Much love and good vibes.
Watching your desk setups over the years is fascinating watching it mature into a very streamlined and cozy setup that you are very happy with 😊 Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing!! Much like you, I spend a lot of time at my desk being a sales engineer for a very large data center company so having a very functional, comfortable desk is an absolute must.
Wow, this video is so inspiring! As a fellow software engineer, I can totally relate to the struggles and triumphs that you've shared. But what really stands out to me is your passion and dedication to your craft. It's clear that you were meant to do this work, and your excitement is contagious!
when Mayuko dropped that Day In The Life video, it blew my mind because I never imagined thats how nice a job could be. Now I'm doing the same thing and life is nice
yay welcome back Mayuko missed your videos. It's great to see ya on my notfi's again. Looking forward to this small comeback. Hope you have had a great 2023 so far as well.
Software engineering is no joke, it might look cool to some people but it's either you love it or hate it. Can't fake it. Most of ( a lot ) of engineers often side track to other stuffs as they go deeper cos they slowly find it boring or hard etc etc. Passion is everything in coding and if you side track, you know it's not for you 🙂
As of currently (26 March 2024), Mayuko's Linkedin profile shows that she loved a Linkedin post from 3 weeks ago. Hope to see your videos again, Mayuko!
I know you're busy but it's nice to see you. Topics: -Volunteer/mentor opportunities for STEM. (Plus if it's for any underrepresented group. Personally interested in women in stem stuff also other groups. I know engineering in general has SHPE/NSBE but are there groups for tech?) -Tech do-goodery? Hackathon, start up, organization that is an intersection of tech + environmentalism, social issues. -Tech job/interview landscape post layoffs.
The mouse tip about binding mute is a good one, I have like 6 extra buttons on my mouse I've never touched. Had issues in the past with Logitech's GHub software for configuring your Logitech devices being a real dumpster fire, so maybe there's a way to do this without installing that.
I have the same speakers but hooked to the headboard of my bed. I also installed a subwoofer and the marley turntable that goes with it. They're really amazing
Thanks mayuko for posting a new desk setup! Nice reminder for me to consider refreshing some of my own desk and items for a nice change of pace too. I know it’s been a while, but we’re just happy to see you’re doing well!
Wow welcome back I just discovered you yesterday and I was saddened to see you might have left the platform completely ! I'm so ready for some new content from you !
Would be cool if you could create a video on remote job opportunities in software Engineering/ web development that are available for people that do not reside in the US.
Great video! Could you do a video for beginner web developers/beginner software engineers? I'm learning by myself and while theory is ok I'm really afraid of starting to practice my code for some reason.
Thanks for your video Mayuko, keep in mind that having the MacBook connected shortens the battery life. Go to the battery health section and check, as a solution there is a software that limits the charge to 80%.
I don't know if you can, but I think it'll br nice to hear about your new job, the product you work on, how it's your daily routine and your role as a SE.
