adamthewoo 🖖You always noticed little details like the cars on the freeway great video man live long and prosper Star Trek over Star Wars any day 💚That being said I love both franchises I just think Star Trek better
Star Trek over Star Wars? No. No! That's not true! That's impossible! Search your feelings; you know it to be true! NOOOOOOO! LOL, Mark, I like both as well, but am much more a Star Wars freak than a Trekkie.
You mentioned wanting to do this at Dragon Con when we ran into that guy in the Gorn costume! Glad you finally made it!! (And now I'll cast my vote once again for E.T. locations ;) )
Thank you so much for this. I go about once a month , and it took me over 20 years of visits to actually compel myself to look closely and find the spot where Kirk fires the cannon. You found it much more quickly and did good research. But I will tell you and I believe you will agree that it is a special joy when you find each of those locations. I go sometimes and just sit there on the rock where Kirk fires the cannon. Thank you again for having so much fun and connecting to all the people who love nostalgia.
I retitled this video with Kirk vs Gorn simply because the vast majority of people know it as that and not it's real name "Arena" . As stated in the description it's correct episode name is mentioned . For all the Star Trek purists out there
adamthewoo HI Adam ,Here is an awesome movie filming locations video and areas that you should check out they are located in The California and Tuscon Arizona Areas ua-cam.com/video/WCcp_NfDLOc/v-deo.html
Saw this episode on it's first showing when I was 20 years old. My future husband and I bonded over our love of Star Trek. Brought back lots of memories. Many thanks.
I remember watching this episode for the first time in the early 70's (around age 5) and being scared shitless of the Gorn. Def one of my favorite TOS episodes. Thanks for making this vid!
I was never into Star Trek but I watched your vid anyway. I gotta tell ya, by far, you make the best filming location videos I’ve ever seen. It’s truly amazing how you find everything.
I've seen a couple people document this spot as the Gorn battle site but never to this detail. I'll bet William Shatner himself would enjoy watching this and remembering his time spent filming this iconic episode more than half a century ago. Always great seeing adam and knowing he's still out there showing us such fantastic sites as this. I am disabled (Parkinson's) and homebound and the internet is the only way I can experience the world. Thank you Adam for your wonderful adventures around this great country :>)
I just found your channel here! Thanks Adam it’s great to see your videos again. And also, thanks for showing us one episode of my favorite shows ever!
This was the next best thing to being there. I think you covered it all and excellently done. This was my favorite episode as a kid and the rock formation has always been in the back of my mind as a place to visit someday.
I dont know if you got my messages about the tulsa state fair but message me back you will have a Employee ALL ACCESS PASS!!! even back stage with all the bands! hit me up i msg you my email-in a msg on this channel...
Great video, really liked that you revealed the old attachment point relics, that's real TV history, awesome find! Fantastic Columbo like research and the all the interesting reenactments. Thanks
I loved this recreation and like so many others, it was my favorite Star Trek episode too. You deserve a Tribble and some Romulan Ale for this one! Thanks for the memories.
Well done, Mr. Woo! I was never into Star Trek, however, you have a knack for getting me into things I would never normally be interested in. Mucho gracias!
I’m less Then a minute in and it’s already flipping awesome. Greg is really going to love this! Good day Adam the Woo and everyone too. Beautiful drone footage!
This is my favorite video you've ever done, non both here and TDW. Gorn is one of my favorite Trek episodes so seeing this detailed breakdown.. love things like "the smoke machine would have been placed here." Love it!!!
Cheers Adam, I love this Vlog. I have always wanted to visit where this Star Trek episode was filmed. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you.
I just got the lunch and was able to finish it. Wow! I’m putting this in my top five of yours. Thanks for sharing my friend and thanks for all the inspiration
I could sure tell you had a blast. I first knew about this episode of Star Trek from Bill and Ted’s bogus journey. I’m sure you remember that one too? LOL
Hey Adam!! I was excited to watch your vlog. I have not really watched any Star Trek before but I loved your vlog. You did a great job of matching up the locations where parts of the movie were filmed and that takes skill. I always enjoy the humor that you add into your vlogs. Great job! Like your shirt also. Love you Adam!!
adamthewoo Thanks much for the reply...have you seen STAR TREK CONTINUES on You Tube? ...they did a nice job sticking to original show themes on a crowd funded production ...they do a nice job...check it out
This video is brilliant! Even years after checking off one of my very top bucket-list items by visiting Vasquez Rocks, even dressing like Captain Kirk and visiting the whole area including much of that climb, you added details that even I hadn't known about the making of one of my very favorite episodes from my favorite TV series ever. I guess I need to make another trip to SoCal. Wonderfully done video!
Such a classic episode of TOS... It's amazing how so much of the Vasquez Rocks location still looks exactly the same as it did back then, to this day! And this shot-for-shot recapturing of it, including the view of the surrounding scenery from that high precipice, is nothing short of spectacular! Love it!
That was awesome!!! Brought me back, remember that episode very well. Watched it with my dad who passed 5 years ago he was the biggest Star Trek fan ever!!! Thanks Adam.
Hi Adam. Loved this video. Lots of laughs and surprising information. Really enjoying watching your videos, I’m relatively new to this whole vlog thing. Keep doing what you’re doing. You are amazing. Thank you for what you do xx
Adam I love you for this segment dude. This is why your the king of your craft, love the shirt, action figures, the music, even the "good, good" quote from Spock that you cleverly placed in the dialog. I was afraid you were getting bored with this stuff, but today a new standard was set. THANK YOU !
This, my friend, is truly outstanding!!!!!!!!! Love it to pieces. I think I'm one of the ones whose been saying, "Film at Vasquez Rocks," and you sure did! This is my fav Star Trek episode and you paid it a great tribute. Too too fun!!!!!!! Now, head up the 395 and visit the Alabama Hills.
I went here with me GF and her friend, one guy decided to venture off on his own (we told him not to) as we hiked around we went back to the car at a meet up time and this guy wasnt there, we waited hours and hours still nothing, we got worried and since this was before cell phones (prob out of service anyways) it was do we go get get help, she couldnt drive , I didnt want to leave her alone and we didnt want him to think we left him. Time seemed to slow. All of a sudden this dingle-berry shows up just b4 dark with a climbing rope he found like nothing happened.
Great video enjoyed every second amazing to see the same shrubs where old bill walked beside. You sir are definitely living the dream. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Rewatched the episode last night... I bet Shatner didn't climb all the way to the top of the rock (although he certainly could have.) You only see Kirk from behind on that shot (at 4:30), so I'm thinking that was his stand-in. So, Adam... You outdid the Shat by climbing that rock! (That was insanity BTW!)
This is why I cannot miss your “episodes”, Adam. You speak to the near and dear to my heart and the weird and far out that resonates with some of my own peculiar fascinations. You are at the top of your game!

I caught that you renamed it. Makes sense. Most people wouldn't know it by the title "Arena" anyway.
