Wow, what IS that set? Such realistic looking walls that are actually wide enough on top to put defenders on! And to SCALE too! Totally accurate looking with even that wooden palisade between the mission and the other adobe building.
I bought some Alamo soldier sets for my son and they now belong to my grandson. Both of them play with them in a unique way. I own lots of Westerns on DVD, and there are 2 particular Westerns that were not only favorites of mine, but both my son and now my grandson, have taken a particular liking to. These 2 movies are Major Dundee and Cavalry Charge. In both of these there are Alliances between Union, Confederate, and Cowboys against Apaches and the Mexican Army in Major Dundee and in Cavalry Charge just against Apaches. What they do is take all their Union, Confederate, and Cowboys, in a town being forced to set aside their differences because the Apaches, Commanches, and Mexican Army have allied to kill all Americans! And both sides have Cannon! The Union has a secret weapon, 5 Gatling Guns. Four are actual, I think BMC, the 5th is a souvenir pencil sharpener. LOL My grandson is also wanting to do a 55 Days at Peking set up, using the Alamo Mexicans as the French. Yeah, it's the hats. He's bought about 60 Boxers so far from Armies in Plastic, but of course he needs a couple hundred just to start with. He's got a heck of an imagination!
This is a great set and good video.I have a lot of toy soldiers but now i am a pacifist so now when my toy soldiers meet in battle they engage in negotiations in a friendly way discovering mutual interests and later go out for dinner together sharing and caring.
Man, if thats carpet u got, i take my hat off to u, i rem as a kid setting up huge epic battles with those little figures, spent too much time standing them back up when they fall over tryimg to place them into postistion, as i kid i would have loved to play out that battle u set up
I bought the CTS 'deluxe' Alamo set four years or so ago. Great price for the massive amount of stuff you get. I ended up buying extra CTS buildings, as well as buildings/walls from MicShauns and others. Scratch built some stuff too. I repainted everything in a dingy white with adobe accents. That way I can use it for the Alamo, a Mexican village, A French Legion Fort or WW2 North Africa. Nice to have options.
I adored these sets when I was a kid.....used to play with my older brother all the time and it drove my Mom nuts. I can't tell you how many times I was told "it's not lady like"......lol I was a total failure as a girly girl!!!
I remember when I was young going over to my cousins house they were girls and played with barbies I always brought my gi Joe's over and had them save barbie from the bad guy. I remember one time one of my cousins lived at my house and she brought her whole barbie house there and one day I drove my remote controlled giant gi joe tank into her room while she was playing and fired off all the gunfire noise , she wasn't happy lol
@Your Nightmares Come True No doubt! North Africa was on the wish list! I only saw it in pictures though! It had a sidecar motorcycle and the trucks had a cross on the hood!

Had the Marx Alamo set as a kid. Nice vid.
Where can you get that Alamo base
This is Totally Awesome! I had the Marx Toy Alamo Set that my Parents got me one Christmas back in the 1970s. I played with it all the time.
Same here, mine was from the sears catalog.
@@jamesellis4664 Mine too. They sure don't make toys like they used to.
So true!!!!! , I'm only 16, yet so many toys are not as good as they used to be when I was atleast 3 or 4
Great set. It would be really great if you were to paint the figures. This way your diorama would really come to life.
I wish I would had this when I was 8 years old in 1956!
Cool set
