1:57 Anna: He wants to challenge my center. Me: What? How dare he? Anna: It's what you wanna do, I have a fantastic center. Me: Aha... cool.. good to know
Nice video...I like how you explain your thought process, and it is nice to see where I see things differently. For example @ 9:16 - If pawn goes f6 (after you take h7), to trap the Knight you'd trade your knight to the rook on f8? I'd say you'd be an extra pawn and half a piece up. Why do you call that situation extremely unfortunate?
Yes that‘s also what confused me a bit, knight takes threatens the rook so he can’t trap it without losing it, wonder if that pawn would’ve made any difference in the end hahaha- also I don’t like sacrifices so I‘d probably just have let go of the pawn there
I see it as because after knight captures the h7 pawn, the knight can't move to g5 if the rook decided to go to g8. And the knight can't move back to the f6 square because it would then be captured by the black knight that is standing on the d7 square
Yeah so she cut a bit there for some reason, but basically starting from when she moves the king after discussing the potential knight pin right before that rook check the moves go 1. Kb4 Rb2 2. Ka5 Rxb5 3. Kxb5 Rc2 4. Kb4 Kf4 The cut happens at Rb2 and cuts back to the move Kb4.
Never played Levy's bot. However, I have played Danny Rensch's bot a couple of times. Also rated 2500. Of course, it beat me in the first game with the Panov-Botvinnik Attack. In the second game, we played the Neo-Grünfeld Defense: Delayed Exchange Variation. I was able to simplify the position into an endgame where I had an extra pawn on the queenside. I hotfooted my king up the board faster than the bot and made a queen. I won the game. Since my rating is less than 2000, I was completely shocked by this. I have been playing chess since I was 13 or 14. Now 35.
@@jishnubhattacharyya37 I think you mis-read the question… No one asked why the queen on D5 couldn’t be taken, the question was why couldn’t you play Nf3 to simultaneously protect the G2 pawn and the bishop on G5.
am i missing something on 9:16 that was super clear to me to take the pawn on h7 because the king wouldn’t have been able to take back due to your bishop on d3. therefore if the the pawn on f7 pushed, you would’ve had a free rook. idk though, im only an 850 but that seemed clear to me🤷🏽♂️
6:00 I think GothamBot should have gone Bishop h3 for a free rook. Since if queen takes on g2, bishop takes on g2 and the rook is hanging. And if queen takes the bishop on h3 you get a free rook. Edit: If queen takes the bishop on h3 and you take rook on h1 with queen its M1 for white so nvm dont push with bishop XD
You play like me... slow and calculating in the beginning, and then faster and impulsively towards the end lol Only difference is I do it much worse because I'm 900-ish hahaha
I was beating him once i took his bishop and his rook and promoted to a queen in like the middle game 😂 then i attacked his queen with my rook and he backrank checkmated me i was beyond angry but i knew i would mess it up somehow. so stupid i hate chess, literally makes me hate myself when i play these days
Love your voice, Anna... very listenable!!! And great chess game play advice, too! "Check, capture and attack!" 🙃 Are you going for 2300 one day? Or are there more important life things to consider? I loved watch your ideas fall to pieces at the end there! It was very entertaining!!! And congrats on your accuracy!!
15:19 "You're just going to attack my king? No dinner first?" Damn
This was very helpful. I do feel like I learn from these videos, and I don't really worry about who wins or loses.

I love that you are always so happy. It's what happens when you do what you really love.
the silence at 17:07 killed me
I loved this video! Loved your reactions. Felt like I really got to see how you think during the game. Look forward to other videos like this.

19:18 the two rooks just disaper :)
Wtf just happended? Gotham bot was gonna win and ?? Anna fkkkjing crampling did magic or some shitjjt
"There's not enough bams," hehe, you're too adorable.
Pretty cool game! I wonder if you'd have won if you'd played it safe and not gone for the rook sacrifice to 'create some magic' ^^

After king b4 at 19:12 SUS rook disappeared 👁
Respect to you for posting this bot match, very entertaining and helpful !
9:30 Why would you not take the free pawn? You are forcing the rook to move next turn so the knight wouldn't be trapped.
idk

Can someone explain what happens at 19:12? I watched it like 10 times and just don't get how this new situation develops after the rook checks
Yeah so she cut a bit there for some reason, but basically starting from when she moves the king after discussing the potential knight pin right before that rook check the moves go
1. Kb4 Rb2

@@connordcl5931 First time I watched I thought she blundered ladder mate, so she cut it out to redo the move :D
5:44 would here safe your Bishop if you would go first Queen H5 and then Queen f3?
5:58
Black rook to E8? Check.
He never did that move. That was a decent alternative move rather than trading queens.
the pauses 😭😭 16:55

2:30 the reaction lol
She sacrifiés the rooooooooook!!
He punished and shredded and just shredded and completely smothered.
wow you played the gotham bot, even gotham drawed against it
queen c2 ruck h7 checkmate 5:35
5:48 white square bisshop on E4 traps the queen
u lose the bish
4:00 queen d4 would have been a great move
3:20 can someone explain why u can't just play Knight to f3 ?
Bishop on b4 is pinning the knight to the king mate, levy bot won't make such a blunder as to hang a queen in 1 🤣🤣

Anna explained that she was worried about Re8+ but she didn’t calculate beyond that.

Just a guess, but the black rook would move and stare down the g-file.
exactly why i’m an 850 lol wasn’t realizing that taking that pawn didn’t put the king in check so the rook could just move 😂 that’s hilarious now

No matter that I am a puny amateur, for some reason I can't stop watching Anna's videos...
i can't be the only one who thought back to Junior High when Anna suggested Gotham "Beat himself"
can't u just put Kf3 at 2:44? to protect bishop and pawn on g2
there was a glitch cutting out some moves at the end
your videos are great Anna thanks a lot!

wow..i learnt a lot. thanks Anna
if u took taht pawn on h7 u are attacking his rook and he cant eat you because od bishop
8:24 is there not b4
I beat the Levi bot once. It gave up material in the opening, and I didn't let it back into the game.
I always thought Gotham looks like the pro poker player Antonio Esfandiari;
Me gustó mucho el video !! Muy educativo y divertido jajaja. Gracias Anna !! Espero tu respuesta en español...😁
Chess Is hard and I suck at chess but you make It fun Anna. Thanks. 😊 .
DOH! that was very interesting. Thank you, Anna!
Good stuff! I feel this happens to everoine who is not a SGM. You play fast even though you have time.

Beat the gotham chess bot the first time I played it, to this day I dont know how, only rated 1300 😂
Great game. These videos are very informative to lower rated players like myself. Thanks Anna.
4:59 is there not bishop e2?
I MEAN E4
OH YEAH IT DOESNT WORK STUPID ME
Try the Botez blitz gambit?
Thank you so much Anna, for sharing the way you think .. it helps me lots 🧠
If the bot plays anything like Levy, you’ll win in 2 moves
what happened at 19:15 ?
love the retrospective
So, its not impossible, but you have to still play well even when you are clearly winning.

I beat the Gotham Bot totally unassisted and I'm only rated 960.
I think very occasionally you can be lucky and play an accurate game.
I find it easier to follow when you don’t go so fast 😂
Good game, thank you for this content, and I think you've shown the potential to beat that bot ... Will there be a rematch some day?
3:25 isn’t it obvious the Queen takes the rook after the pawn and is threatening the back line??
Seriously am I stupid for thinking this ?!😂
Yes because it was easy to defend
"" i found a way everybody... rook check is imposible......... huh....""
Yikes, you almost had him. Very instructive game nonetheless! Cheers, mate
