Mock Driving Test - UK Practical Driving Test
This is Ruslan who came to Drive London as a complete beginner. He learnt in a manual car and done about 30 hours of lessons which were divided over sometime due to COVID lockdowns. His actual test is a week after lockdown and this is a mock test we did a couple days before.
In the video the text colour would mean:
GREEN: GOOD POINTS
AMBER: ADVISORY AND MINOR FAULTS
RED: SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS FAULTS

I really wish my examiner had told me the good points of my drive like you do with your learners. I didn't have any faults for observations, mirrors, judgement as my faults were for undue hesitation but I felt gutted at the end since there was nothing good reported. I feel more examiners should definitely help point out the good things learners are doing after their test.
Update: I passed last month, don't give up if you fail, watching lots of mock tests definitely helped!

@@mrsmchistory 36 oh nice its never too late to get a license good luck and download the ultimate driving course app it goes straight to the point with each video and are 5 to 7 mins long , there are around 37 or 8 videos you can watch it will really help you

16:07 when you say he should have stopped for the passing vehicle, should he have positioned himself so he is not in the way of the other vehicle and then stopped reversing to let the car pass and once it’s passed carry on reversing again?
In this case he wasn't really in the way, but yeah he should have just stopped the car, let the other car pass and check all around before carrying on to be as safe as possible.

Dont forget to breathe, no need to be nervous, if you wasnt ready id hope your instructor would be good enough to not rush you, just remember to take your time, dont rush and talk yourself through everything you see and do, example.. im turning left here, mirror checks, signal, speed etc

Hey I passed my test last Thursday with 2 minors.
- One thing that helped me a lot was watching mock videos like these.
- try to familiarise yourself with the test area (practise there or watch mock videos there) that helped me a lot with understanding the roads/speed limits as my test area changed (road closures, speed limit change etc) due to lockdown
- try and stay calm on the day and take your time, there’s no need to rush as you’ll make mistakes.

Why do we have to check mirrors before signalling?
To ensure it’s actually safe to move over/turn

Why is it an unnecessary signal to the left at 17:46 ?
Mini-Roundabouts only require a signal on approach (left or right as appropriate). They do not need a signal on exit because all drivers can see from your initial signal exactly which way you are going from the start.
@@keith6400 it is safer to signal left on your exit as if you’re turning right 3rd exist if there was a car on the 3rd exist ready to pull out having the left signal on your car would indicate to them your getting of stock that turn instead of doing a full 360 turn so they can pull out
@@TheRidwan786 Yes this would be true if mini-roundabouts were bigger, however they small. Drivers who see you at the time you enter the roundabout will see you are turning right and know exactly where you are going. Drivers attempting the equivalent of a U-turn at a mini-roundabout as you describe will typically find there is not enough space to complete one and will mount the pavement or stop and reverse. I have seen examples of reversing on mock test videos on UA-cam. I believe the Highway Code warns us to avoid these "U-turns" and if you can manage one doing it slowly and taking extra time just prior to 3rd exit coming up will prevent a collision. The point of these videos is how your driving is scored on your Driving Test. The candidate will be awarded one minor fault for this "Unnecessary Signal" if on a Driving Test and as such is an easy fault to avoid and you have fourteen more to score prior to failure.
I feel like this roundabout is on the bigger side for a mini-roundabout. It may have been difficult for the other cars to see where he came from and the left signal to exit may not be required but I feel like it's courteous to let the other drivers know for sure there is no need to give way to him. If it's not causing any safety issues I don't get why that would need to be a minor.
@@RusNad Your thinking may be correct. Motoring laws are very specific for the purposes of prosecution. The Highway Code also also lays down rules which sometimes contradict but are generally a good overall guide on driving practise. Common sense is also a good back up of explaning why you do things in a particular way. The road sign identifies that a roundabout is defined as mini-roundabout and the rule on signalling left, third exit at a mini-roundabout is written down. On test the only arbiter it is Driving Test Examiner and under these circumstances your best policy is always avoid being awarded a minor fault.
Surely 5:26 is a major mark?

Only buses and lorry’s ect will do that because cars behind cannot see past them x

Because people behind including him cannot see past the bus so signalling could be helpful x

How can you give a minor for indication,?? Even if it is a unnecessary signal, he's still letting road users and pedestrians his intentions, in most your Videos you give minors alot for really nothing..
You were soooooo wrong about the crossing because at the time none of the people were in position to actually cross. Both the little girl on the left and lady in black on the right both could have been walking straight at the point you stopped the car. You need better glasses not your student.
