Amazing performance by Frazer and all as it should be. The other guy "dropping" deadlifts was actually a very interesting tactic.

It is, but at the same time you deactivate your back every rep, which could be counter productive.
The pros of tng is that all the reps after the first one happen with a preactivation of the muscles (obviously, since you have already done one). Probably the best strategy is a tng with a good strategy on when to drop the barbell (which varies for every athlete and his/her fitness level).
I am not trying to coach anyone, just expressing some key points I have noticed.
I am actually really interested in hearing other people opinions about the subject, being an athlete my self.
Just to be clear, the drop and go strategy is a super effective one, widely used, but you have to be really good at activating your back muscle properly every single rep

I’m always amazed that these gyms run all the scrubs at the same time as the best athletes in the game. Can’t they just take 20 mins to focus on the best in the world? It’s as if the Jordan Bulls had to tape practice on the side court at the local Y while the 40+ mens league shuffles all around them. Clear the stage, scro!

Superb effort by the other athlete but if that was in the games i would suspect alot of those DL`s would be no rep as he was picking the bar up while it was still bouncing and not at rest.

So Fraser, or anyone else, is stupid to setting them down? In a recent team of 2 WOD we made 60kg (132 lbs) deadlift, my two team mate drop the weights while I set them down. I think it's not fair, cause is way harder.

Fraser is an absolute beast no question, to be fair all the elite Crossfit athletes are, but until Crossfit start using an official, Olympic level drug testing program (USADA) then I won't accept these guys are 100% natty, no way!
