This release just landed on my doorstep. What can I say. Scratching my head wondering what Felton Jarvis was thinking at the time. Why would anybody feel the need to mess with these original recordings. The mind boggles. Love the Pioneer SX1980. Arguably the greatest receiver ever made.
I totally understand why you are rethinking considering Elvis’ best period as 1970 over 1960. To me this is his best period hands down. The songs, the voice, and his passion. I think he had it so much in the 1950s and early 1960s of course, but to me this style fit him so well. It’s an amazing boxset and put together so well. Excellent job as always!! 👍👍

But this is tantalisingly close..just on a bigger scale...don't understand anyone who doesn't see the essence and intuitive brilliance of this artist on display here in these sessions. Hello Scotty, I caught your video about an hour ago and I saved it to watch it again. Wow, I couldn't just hit like and not leave a comment. To say it was outstanding would be an understatement. I love how you really get into the feeling when it's comes to Elvis. Like I've said before, you make one feel like they're right there. When you sang along with Elvis, it nearly blew me away. Your voice harmonized with his beautifully. I love when you wear those glasses and really show your feelings. You hold nothing back. The songs are some of my favorites, especially Just Pretend. The pictures were phenomenal too. I'm gonna be looking for more of your video's I've missed, Your channel is addictive in a wonderful way. Hi my friend, what a brilliant review of my favourite Elvis sessions of the seventies, like you I prefer this than the previous '69 American sound studios sessions! cheers Pal, and TCB!
Listening to this through my surround system on stereo setting. I always loved the attention to the base reproduction in these sessions and onstage for That's the way it is.
Great video for this package, at over 4 hours of material on the CD one certainly gets a fly on the wall experience from these studio sessions, you have a great ability of picking the right songs to highlight, also the collages of Elvis throughout were well chosen by you. I find as I get older, I'm now 53, that I gravitate more to this time of Elvis' career, like you said that he was on the top of his game and firing on all cylinders, his voice was maturing and get stronger. Best wishes to the gentleman from Pennsylvania, I hope things go well for him.
Thankyou David..that’s very kind of you..I know Jim will see this video and hope he knows people are thinking of him. Dave I just pick what I like..tbh there are so many on here I could have done 4hrs and 25 mins..no kidding Thankyou as always😊
Hey Scotty, your review of Elvis In Nashville was a thing of beauty!! What a great session! Elvis was a true belter, a voice for the ages!! Great stories as usual, and prayers to Jim! Fabulous start to the video, what does the E. P. stand for on your shirt Extra Power?? You were rockin' dude! Keep it up man! Peace, Love, & Elvis!
Extra Power😂😉😂 I really enjoyed today..in fact the last couple of months i think the channel is heading in the right direction.. I hope it is I’m loving it.. I count on guys like you.. I thank you so much Peace brother 😊
Another GREAT, GREAT Episode ‼️ And in Elvis-glases ********* Real Rock ’n’ Roll !!!!!!! These recordings are awsome, without the sugercoating. In my humble opinion -- Elvis is REBORN ‼️‼️‼️ Scotty, I really appriciate your channel and eagerly wait for your next episode 👍. Keep On Rocking, my friend 👻
1969 Chips was in control. Got some great music out of those sessions. In 1970 Felton was in control and thus Elvis was in control doing it the way he wanted and that’s the way it is for the rest of his career.
Exactly Elvis was more controlled at American..a tad unsure of his surroundings At Studio B he was home on familiar ground and he cuts loose..great comment😊
have you got your shirt yet??? that will be cool! fantastic review! perfect EP in every way! these sessions were on fire! i love the song sylvia can't get it outta my mind! great work! thank you! blessings
Oh yes, Scotty !! You have said almost exactly the same as I had, on this wonderful set. This is a massive piece of Elvis gold ! Faaaaaaaan-Taaaaaastic !!!!!
I’ve just picked the 4 cd box set up from Amazon - No hype sticker on mine but was sealed. I like the hype stickers too, so I was surprised it was missing! I’m really enjoying this set!, Cheers
Great video, as always. I have to wait another couple of weeks before the CD set comes out over here. Regarding the songs Elvis nailed in one take, there are other similar masterpieces throughout Elvis' discography (Reconsider Baby, I'll Hold You in My Heart, I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen) but it's a shame there aren't more. Imagine what a session with nothing planned in advance might have produced. Take care, young man.
Yes MSG , fantastic . Great shows , 1972 god almighty did he rock the gardens ....when I saw the footage I was mind-blown. You gotta get another copy ....Just to say enjoying yr movie reviews too , FTD LP soundtracks etc. Cheers bud ...

Thank you Scott for the tribute video for Jim. I know he'll really appreciate your kind words. I very much appreciate it all and your overall video was really great. Learn things every video. Elvis was in charge in the studio. The master really of music in my eyes. Great sessions. Can't wait til you hit 1000 subscribers Scott. TCB my friend.
I really hope Jim likes the thought that you had for him Lynn..a true friend if ever there was one. Yes that’s the big aim.. then to push on.. Elvis was the Master and Commander😊 Thanks Lynn😊
Its Elvis with a novelty band of sorts. Its got a different feel than other bands he played with, although the core of both of his other bands is combined here. Great review.
Hi Scotty. Great show thanks, I have the Nashville sessions in CDs, one of my favourite albums, probably the one I play the most, apart from the Gospel set (3CDs), You have got to be the most ENTHUSIASTIC Elvis fan on UA-cam, am grateful for that as you bring him back to life in your own way, The Gentle King of Music !!!!!
Nice one mate. Your enthusiasm for this new set matches how the rest of us feel. Just can't get enough of it. Amongst all the rest, I'll Never Know is such a beautiful song. Thanks for selecting it. Sublime! TCB. Roger. Delighted you've now made it over the 600 mark! Richly deserved.
Great review and totally agree with your opinion. It has been a real pleasure to listen to this release, with a big grin on my face. I am sad that my cousin never lived long enough to hear this as well. Though maybe she is listening in .... You have inspired me to get the boxes of vinyl out of storage and catalogue them for the first time since I got my first record in 1974.
Pertinax I’m pretty sure she is listening in.. if not she may have had a ringside seat listening to the man in heaven.. you gotta believe that’s true..keeps me going.. That’s great you are doing that with your vinyl.. Take care😊
hello scotty music sounds very good and clear . your the lucky one cant have mine until christmas day lol . thanks for your great review yet again keep it up
Hey Scott, Love the video. I have both the box set and the vinyl copies, though I haven’t played them yet. If you purchase the box on Amazon they send you the mp3 version, of which I have been listening to. I love the idea of these tracks being stripped down to their bare bones, but equally I do enjoy the so called “over produced” masters that were released back in the day. It’s fun listening to tracks such as Heart of Rome and If I Were You as I can hear the horns and all the other overdubs in my head. Lol! I have always said that whilst these sessions didn’t yield the chart success that the Memphis ones did, the quality/standard of the material recorded was still very high. You only have to look at ETTWII and Elvis Country to realise that. Also, despite what many say Love Letters From Elvis was and is a very underrated album. With the FTD vinyl released earlier this year, I have revisited this album in recent months. I originally bought it when I was a teenager back in the 80’s. I played it only a couple of times, felt quite indifferent about it and put it away. Played the CD Legacy edition of it recently in the car and realised that it was a good listen. I guess your attitudes change over the years. Lol! Looking forward to your next video. Sorry about the lengthy comment! Take it easy, Lee
Great comments Lee..I very much enjoyed reading it.. It doesn’t matter which version is really preferred or what our favourites are. Its all about how much joy it brings you..to spawn 3 albums from one session is unheard of. Take care buddy😊
Hi Scotty, I love your channel_your videos so much (I'm a quiet viewer since your early ones). What a collection and I love the way you take about Elvis. Fingers cross... I should (I hope so) get this 2LP very soon (and yesssss! also "Elvis Interdit" 2LP -VPI... I'm french btw haha). I made couple Elvis videos myself on my channel (there is an Elvis playlist) if you are curious and adventurious about my singular english accent and vocabulary. Take care.
Got the CDs and they are phenomenal!! Amazing set. Only thing I don't like is the difficulty of getting the CDs out of the sleeve. Is it just me? Havent heard anyone bring up that point
hi scotty paul here from brisbane, just wanted you to know i really enjoyed the great review of this superb set. been listening to it for the last couple weeks and i must agree this is probably the best release ive seen. thanks for these great videos mate really enjoy them, keep up the great work!!!!
Thanks Rob..had some clown the other day say it was a Sloppy release and gave me a thumbs down.. Needless to say he’s been taken away in a straight jacket!!😂
@@ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel sloppy release?! There will always be negative people I suppose, seems there are some Elvis fans that are never happy whatever is released!
Hi Scotty…I thought about you today….I came across a video on UA-cam from Muddy Watters at Newport…he does a 7 minute rendition of Mojo…..so, so good….and I remembered how enthusiastic you were on this video rocking to this. Elvis has become a gateway for me to discover his early influences and boy they are good! He grew up on some good shit.
I’m a huge fan of elvis Presley’s I love 💕 his music and flims too elvis will always be the king 👑 of rock and roll 🎸 and my dream is to Visit Graceland communicate with with elvis 6:00pm
Hi Scotty my dear friend :) another great interesting review and video :) if you ask me my favorite year from 1970 till 1977 is: 1970 !!! Elvis recorded fantastic songs, sounded great and i really love : Thats the way it is , i still dont have this set , vinyl or CD, just cant keep up with so many records and releases , like the great song says: " Who needs money ? " Lol....hahahah , " Ill never know" is my very favorite from Love letters LP , TCB buddy ;)
Scotty! You got your Mojo working! Thanks. I agree, you need both CD set and Vinyl. I think the FTD vinyl releases for the albums from those sessions have even more outtakes. Maybe another complete sessions later......2030....
Hey Scotty, just been going through your older videos and came to this one. After your review I ordered the CD set and received it today. Can't wait to play it tomorrow. You've rekindled my love for all things Elvis. Looks like I'm going to have to get my vinyl LPs out and give em a dusting. By the way, I went to Graceland in 1981 but was only allowed in the meditation gardens at that time. Would love to go again as so much has changed. Anyway, I'm waffling on but I'm grateful that you lovingly spend your time sharing your knowledge and entertaining me. Cheers, keep it up.
An exceptional box, an incredible unrepeatable historical period. Oh God some etchings are known to us who have been following the cause for decades due to other publications, but the quality in this case is inimitable. The three albums involved are among my absolute favorites, perhaps the least is Love letters from Elvis, obviously a very personal opinion. The analysis also addressed in this new video finds me absolutely in agreement. Just pretend with Love letters are two songs that have always made me shiver in headphones, so full of passion and feeling. The voice of Elvis is unique inimitable so warm deep it enters your soul and heart. I think Legacy has come up with a great product destined to become a great new sales success, appreciated by all Elvis fans, all united by the same opinion, Elvis in this period had everything, luck, health and a lot of energy, to sell. Just think of the shows filmed in Las Vegas, TTWII is an unmissable docufilm, how can you not love it and not get passionate. I believe that unfortunately everything started to decline a little from here, due to the boredom and routine of his artistic and especially concert life. Repetitive shows without stimuli or novelties, a bit like in the circus. A man who if he had been truly assisted could have tried his hand at other sectors, cinema first of all, and who knows maybe TV, how many artists have had the opportunity to conduct personal shows with guests? Maybe I'm raving Elvis was somehow a surviving candidate from the club of 27, a torch that burned out too fast and shed great light for too short a time .... I often talk about cinema because I seriously believe that Elvis was a good actor, I recently saw King Creole and we have to be honest here he takes on his part in a really dramatic way and he really manages to convince and look believable ... even despite the Habit to always make him sing ..... Forgive Dear Friend Scott for my wandering, but your videos often give me the opportunity to reflect and analyze more nuances, after all I think it is limiting to consider ELVIS only and simply a singer .. ..do not you think ? Thanks again ...... Andrea
Outstanding review Scotty as usual we love your reviews here in Australia and I agree with you Elvis at his absolute peak and love these unedited gems free of all the clutter of strings horns and lots of other voices pure Elvis love your work cheers Carl
Wow Scotty; another great review and yes you're 100% right when you say that this is the best Album release from the last years. Ever think of a career as an elvis imitator, Cause men you got the moves. Scotty thanks again for a great job on this one. Keep up the good work and stay save.
I would like to say I’ve really enjoyed your videos of your reviews of Elvis products. I’ve been an Elvis fan since I was 4 years old . @@ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel It played at a local movie theater. I received an email letting me know that it was finally coming to theaters. It was amazing!! A Fool Such as I and 3.) I'm Leaving. One other note, I think a song of his that is very underrated is, If I Were You. I LOVE that song as well. It is on the new Nashville CD's.
Dave I just pick what I like..tbh there are so many on here I could have done 4hrs and 25 mins..no kidding
Thankyou as always😊
I hope this year RCA will release from Elvis in Nashville 1971 sessions!
Wow I am speechless!

The one time I performed " I'll Never Know" no one knew it was an Elvis song. Always loved it
You didn't use that firefly line when you performed did you?

I love when you sing along with elvis . You have an awesome voice
Another GREAT, GREAT Episode ‼️
And in Elvis-glases ********* Real Rock ’n’ Roll !!!!!!!
These recordings are awsome, without the sugercoating.
In my humble opinion -- Elvis is REBORN ‼️‼️‼️
Scotty, I really appriciate your channel and eagerly wait
for your next episode 👍.
Keep On Rocking, my friend 👻
Hey Goran..I really appreciate you..
Thanks for your great comments as always..
The recordings are indeed awesome😊
1969 Chips was in control. Got some great music out of those sessions. In 1970 Felton was in control and thus Elvis was in control doing it the way he wanted and that’s the way it is for the rest of his career.
Exactly Elvis was more controlled at American..a tad unsure of his surroundings
At Studio B he was home on familiar ground and he cuts loose..great comment😊
I love this box set got the vinyl to great set I love this version great tracks on this box set tracks like the fool mary in the morning heart of Rome
another great video love the cd box set i'm gonna wear this one out
Get two just in case😉

Oh yes, Scotty !! You have said almost exactly the same as I had, on this wonderful set.
This is a massive piece of Elvis gold ! Faaaaaaaan-Taaaaaastic !!!!!
I’ve just picked the 4 cd box set up from Amazon - No hype sticker on mine but was sealed. I like the hype stickers too, so I was surprised it was missing!
I’m really enjoying this set!,
Cheers
Yes sometimes I guess they get left off..mine got left off of The Jungke Room Sessions
Indeed Reconsider Baby is an absolute masterclass..all the stars aligned that night..
I think when he was in the groove anything was possible..😊
Hi I have just listened to from elvis in Nashville the cd version absolutely brilliant thanks to your review your doing a great job
I’m so very pleased you are enjoying it..
So very pleased..😊

Most significant Elvis release in many years! Totally repositions these sessions in his career. 1970 his greatest year potentially. 👑👑👑👑🎶🎶👑🎶👑🎶👑🎶👑

The Life take 2 youre playing is the best song on the album. In my opinion. You have a good ear for music.
Thankyou Jeff..I should have turned that up..I love the drumming at the start by Carrigan..
It’s awesome..I’ve always liked this song
Thankyou sir😊
Its Elvis with a novelty band of sorts. Its got a different feel than other bands he played with, although the core of both of his other bands is combined here. Great review.
Hi Scotty. Great show thanks, I have the Nashville sessions in CDs, one of my favourite albums, probably the one I play the most,
apart from the Gospel set (3CDs), You have got to be the most ENTHUSIASTIC Elvis fan on UA-cam, am grateful for that as you bring him
back to life in your own way, The Gentle King of Music !!!!!

It's very interesting the information you bring to Elvis's music.
Yes. I love all Elvis vocals but Scotty.... 1970 is special.
Indeed a very special year😊
Hey Scott, Love the video.
Take it easy,
Lee
Great comments Lee..I very much enjoyed reading it..
It doesn’t matter which version is really preferred or what our favourites are.
Its all about how much joy it brings you..to spawn 3 albums from one session is unheard of.
Take care buddy😊

Hi Scotty…I thought about you today….I came across a video on UA-cam from Muddy Watters at Newport…he does a 7 minute rendition of Mojo…..so, so good….and I remembered how enthusiastic you were on this video rocking to this. Elvis has become a gateway for me to discover his early influences and boy they are good! He grew up on some good shit.

Hey Scotty, just been going through your older videos and came to this one. After your review I ordered the CD set and received it today. Can't wait to play it tomorrow. You've rekindled my love for all things Elvis. Looks like I'm going to have to get my vinyl LPs out and give em a dusting. By the way, I went to Graceland in 1981 but was only allowed in the meditation gardens at that time. Would love to go again as so much has changed. Anyway, I'm waffling on but I'm grateful that you lovingly spend your time sharing your knowledge and entertaining me. Cheers, keep it up.
Hey Keith that pleases me no end..thankyou and enjoy it buddy 😊
What do you think about a follow up to this set ? A part 2 with the songs from 71 ? Because i think the recordings from 71 were amazing as well.
Andrea
Andrea you can roam as much as you like.
All great points that I always enjoy reading.
Take care my friend 😊
Outstanding review Scotty as usual we love your reviews here in Australia and I agree with you Elvis at his absolute peak and love these unedited gems free of all the clutter of strings horns and lots of other voices pure Elvis love your work cheers Carl
