You need to read tax code. If you give a certain amount of gifts, yes you would put it on your taxes. Also, the issue is he’s using a business card to pay personal expenses so it wouldn’t be abnormal for the irs to want the credit/bank card statements to make sure the personal expenses weren’t included as expenses to his business

You obviously don't understand! Mr. Wade is a Special Counsel an Agent NOT an employee. He is one of the three Special Counsels appointed by DA Willis and all of them were paid the same rate. If he did more work he will obviously get more pay!

But he didn't put that money back on the business credit card; he just kept it. He stated he never deposited it. It's these details that make them both look bad. Keeping records and letting the Court know what happened to the taxpayers money would help them both; imo.

I find someone who takes the time and tries to remember specific details on a date several years prior to be more credible than someone who just instantly spits out the first thing that comes to mind.

Some of you are ridiculous. If you have EVER worked in an office situation or have friends that you go out to dinner with or travel with all of this is definitely legitimate. I can't tell you how many times I have been to lunch/dinner with friends, coworkers, even family where I paid or they paid and I reimbursed them or they reimbursed me and typically in cash. Did I keep track absolutely not!!! I have booked trips for friends and family with my own credit card and they have reimbursed me. A lot of times its for the benefit of receiving hotel/cruise/airline points.
If you are holding a public position you must BY LAW avoid receiving gifts which includes meals & more. “Avoiding the appearance of impropriety” is the standard.
