The major question is : Does Georgia provide adequate funding. The answer is clear : HELL NO ! And everyone of one of you know this AND WHY ! Why is this getting notoriety now ?
They do not want to fund a black DA who is going to show results and take away the crime narrative they use to scare people to vote for them. The commissioners have an axe to grind. They didn't care about these backlog cases until she took on trump and fast tracked his case. That's the simple reason.
Because this black woman is holding a wealthy white man accountable. And they are putting their foot in their mouth. One minute they get on tv and say democrats want to let criminals out but here in this interview she is being pressured about criminal having to stay incarcerated while awaiting trial. They are full of 💩.
Because Republicans wanted to blame Fani Willis for every issue in Fulton County because she brought charges against Trump and his codefendents. Otherwise they’d be fighting for all funding possible in their state.
It sounds like this is a District Attorney who is doing the job. She knows how the system works, and can explain effectively the extenuating circumstances associated with some of the uncommon cases that exist. In addition to the many professional qualities other commenters here have mentioned, I was struck by the compassion Ms. Willis has for people: for the victims and families as well as for the defendants; for the prisoners living in poor jail conditions; for those in the system struggling with mental illness; even for the homeless folks living out on the streets. She certainly has a sharp brain and a warm heart. I am looking forward to watching her in the upcoming Trump-and-friends trial even more, having learned more about her and her work. Much respect!
In that case, every jail in the U.S. should be shut down. That’s impractical. Y’all think her actions pertaining to her relationship with the lead prosecutor was unethical, ok…but there is no need to take it further. Outside of that, cases she has prosecuted still remain valid. The only way they wouldn’t is if it could be proven her actions gave rise to the possibility that the defendants were falsely indicted. No evidence presented against Willis gives that.
@@Legallyhaitianits more than the relationship and that just ties in with everything else she has done wrong. She did not get approval of hiring wade, she did not submit reciepts of money's spent over $100 dollars, she paid the guy a salary 3x the amount over experienced attorneys. She got financial kickbacks from wade, going on vacations, wine and dine etc; she knew what she was doing by saying she only paid in cash so there would not be a paper trail of her being financially benefitting from wade. Last I know cc are the most widely used forms of payments and there are many money payments to another like venmo, cash app etc; doing this wade was able to file taxes and get reimbursed by the irs for the full amounts and most likely did not tell the irs this .
@@keli449 everything you’re naming surrounds her relationship with wade. In what way does that disadvantages Donald as a defendant? Remember that’s the main thing defense needs to prove. Defense is saying Wade and Willis spent over 20,000 on trips for two. Meaning the only amount they can “claim” Willis benefited from was around $10,000. And that’s not even in hard cash, but in “pleasurable experiences”. Willis is currently making $200,000 in her position. It just doesn’t make since for her to hire someone just so she can make a lil extra $10,000. Y’all can badger Willis for having a relationship on the low, but you cannot make that a crime. Yes it’s unethical. Shoot, petition to get her fired if y’all want. But to say she needs to be jailed or her past convictions released is just showing a clear misunderstanding of the law.

Wow, this was so educational. I had to pull over and type this message. If you listen to the mainstream media, you would think she is failing in a sense. Thank you for educating us. You are Governor ready!
I'm not sure what you mean by the mainstream media? There are many different organisations from the 'traditional media' interested in covering her right now, given her role and the election interference RICO case that she is leading. Is this interview not from within the mainstream media? In general terms, it is the function of a free press to challenge and hold accountable publicly elected officials for their record, including their mistakes and failures, by asking tough, rigorous questions, giving them adequate opportunity to respond, and ensuring the factual content of their answers is truthful. These are functions I associate with news journalism, rather than the commentators and conspiracy theorists that seem to populate the non-traditional media. Journalism gets a bad press, excuse the pun, from the non-trads; and the public frequently seem to prefer opinion that suits with what they already believe to facts that may be inconvenient to them. Which is bad news for journalists trying to cover the news in a balanced and truthful way. This reporter seemed to be looking for a 'gotcha' moment at the beginning, but she was determined not to give him one. She's impressive, I think, although I see her from outside the US, where she would be unknown if it were not that she, as an humble DA, is taking on the former President, and her case looks to be strong. So there's a David-and-Goliath aspect to the case that gets emphasized, but not unduly so, I think. What she is doing is important and courageous.
I thought the journalist was listening to all sides but understood her very well. I think you are saying he was biased against her; didn't have that impression. As to Fani, she is as good as it gets.

Because during the pandemic, when trials in court cases were halted, crimes didn’t just all of a sudden stop it created a backlog that had to be run through part of the emergency procedures. What’s the suspension and extension of that trial process therefore, in that time the backlog far out paste the amount of people available to work those cases When everything opens back up the process of setting up all of those trials, evidence, gathering, etc. has to be restarted which takes time so the numbers reflect that process what she’s explaining is that since she took over they have been completing that process at an accelerated rate, and while there is still a backlog, it is significantly lessthan what it was when she got there

I posted it because I thought she had him a lot of great perspective to add that I couldn’t fit in the story. The DA actually thanked me for the interview at the end. Did you watch until the end? I thought I was respectful.
@@ReporterAndy the reason is because you took the information of the commissioner hook line and sinker instead of verifying those information from publicly available information as mentioned by the DA. For instance you could have compared before FW and after she took office so you get a perspective of her performance. You could have provided context on what she might have done right , wrong, or needs improvement. Great interview. The DA handles herself professionally and with integrity. This was very informative. This is a national issue. Why is a lack of funding so prevalent nationwide? Secondly, why is this DA getting so much attention? ..... Trump agenda? 😮😮

She is definitely on top of things. I LOVE that her first response was to say the person being quoted was ignorant -- as in, did not know what was really happening. That said, I would have liked to hear her say that even one person sitting in jail for 91 days without being indicted is unacceptable. Personally, I'd rather 100 non-violent criminals go free than to have one innocent person locked up. In the last 30 years, over 200 people (4%) who were on death row were released with charges dismissed because advances in evidence proved they were not guilty. That's 1 in every 25 on death row. Not every state has the death penalty and those are the cases the Innocence Project mainly works. In Texas, that was roughly 11% of those sentenced to die in that time frame. That's more than 1 in every 10 on death row. That is absolutely horrifying.
@@B_Bodziak I couldn’t agree more. I’m from the uk and we no longer have the death penalty. I have to say I’m relieved about that. Especially when I see statistics like those you have quoted. I think I would also be concerned about how unequally it is applied as the majority of those on death row are from minority backgrounds or from very poor white working class backgrounds. There’s not an awful lot of evidence that it’s effective as a deterrent against violent crime.
@@Littlemagpie2487 You're absolutely right. The death penalty and lengthy prison terms have been shown to be effective crime deterrents in the US. One huge difference in the US's various state prison systems and those in most EU countries is there are almost no rehabilitation programs in the US. When young adults, including 16/17yo, commit a felony in the US, it haunts the rest of their lives. Most of us have committed at least one criminal act as a young adult, but we were just fortunate not to get caught. I remember at 19yo, my college roommate and I stole an enormous potted plant from someone's front porch on a dare. We were just lucky enough not to get caught. Afterwards, we both received doctoral degrees (medicine & law). Had we been caught and charged appropriately, our lives would likely be different.
@@B_Bodziak I have taught criminology for many years and I used to use your example when we first discussed what a crime was. “Something that breaks the laws of the land” and then what a criminal is “someone caught breaking the law of a given society and is sentenced”. So many student had their eyes opened when they realise everyone has broken the law at some point but not everyone is caught and processed by the criminal justice system . I always wondered why the US gave such ridiculously long sentences when they offer no incentive for offenders to behave, not commit further crimes in prison, particularly if there is no hope they’ll one day get released. Long sentences like that can, in some circumstances, actually incentivise criminals to commit worse crimes as they might as well make sure there are no surviving victims or witnesses to testify against them if they are already looking at 100+ years in prison for their crime.
91 days to sit in jail without being charged with anything and therefore not being given the opportunity for bail. That is literally life-ruining for any of those who are innocent or not going to be charged.

She certainly has a sharp brain and a warm heart. I am looking forward to watching her in the upcoming Trump-and-friends trial even more, having learned more about her and her work.

No that jail need to be shut down and the prosecutor needs to be investigated!
Well, her "Fani" is now gonna be on the other side of her own convinced. She is a piece of crap that is going tf down. Truth prevaild.❤😂
@@keli449She's a liar point blank and anyone who believes the lies that come out of her mouth!! You do not hear of the jail conditions being as horrible as Fulton County and where is the millions of dollars that have been alotted to Fani and the Sherrif for Fulton County jail?

@@loisfolk5492 That still doesn't make it true nor Ok.

@@ReporterAndy the reason is because you took the information of the commissioner hook line and sinker instead of verifying those information from publicly available information as mentioned by the DA. For instance you could have compared before FW and after she took office so you get a perspective of her performance.

The commissioners need to approve funds for a modern, new, larger and functional jail in Fulton County. This has nothing to do directly with the DA’s effectiveness.
Biden needs. More money for Georgia scam.
The Fulton County sheriff has been begging for a new jail ever since he took over the jail.

TRUMP 2024!!!
This woman is so knowledgeable and clear on her facts. The interviewer wanted so badly to find a place of unknowing for her. He couldn't. Cuddos to the DA of Fulton County and everyone working diligently in the Criminal Justice System.
Yes indeed👏🏾 #don’tplaywithher
He's annoying, typical 🙄
She should be disbarred for prosecutorial misconduct

So competent and eloquent.
I love you Fani. You are the best.
Love you Ms. Willis. You have my respect❤!

@@sheliChip for upholding the law. What kind of stupid are you? Are you a criminal that enjoys breaking the law? If you are, I can understand your statement. Just don't break any laws in Ms. Willis' presense. She will come looking for you. And we all will be so much better off for that.
Can't wait for her to be convicted.@@allentyson5475
NOW THEM 5 THOUSAND CASES HAVE TO BE RE-TRIED.... GREAT JOB FANI. 🇬🇧 👍
Nobody wants to talk about THAT elephant in the room! LOL
Why?
He came prepared with his talking points, framing and agenda to do a hatchet job. Instead he got bodied, bagged and boxed by DA Fanni Willis. RIP dude. I've always wondered about her, now I know a bit more. She proves to be a woman of substance, fortitude and unshakable mettle.
You spoke truth….i had no idea that she was so bold…wow ….love it
Your description of this interview is golden. She served his a$$.
That was a very interesting and informative interview. Ms Willis clearly demonstrated that she knows her stuff and keeps a close eye on what is happening in her county.
It depends on who makes the analysis. Maybe people's in Georgia who admire her think she is great. Analyze facts and condition others she her as a disgrace.
@@sheliChipyou never back up what you say do you? All you say is that it’s not true because you say so. You gather your evidence first then reach your conclusion. You don’t reach your conclusion and then make a feeble attempt at some sort of circular logic.
Fani admitted to having people in her jail who have never even been indicted of a crime. She can't even say if they committed a crime because they haven't been indicted of anything. @@vmtz2001
I wish she was my Criminal Justice professor. You can really learn alot from her. Her lectures would be awesome!

I'm glad you're addressing this, D.A. Willis. Thanks, ANF, for doing this interview.
I'm especially pleased that you're addressing the roller coaster of 'competency' by medication ( stabilization), re- confined in jail, and no longer medicated or staffed appropriately, resulting in another psychotic break. Which gets them put back into forensics!
You'd think that w/ an 11 billion dollar surplus, the State of Ga could fix this.
Whewwwww Yall don't try to come for Aunty Fani..... she ain't laying. She is super intelligent and KNOWS her stuff❤❤❤😅😅
The interviewer came to the interview with misinformation from commissioner Ellis; but he was met with real FACTS and INTELLIGENCE, INTEGRITY and PROFESSIONALISM
This is total bull the woman is a master at manipulating the system the prisons in GA like the DODGE county STATE Prison are state of the art facilities that can easily hold the most dangerous inmate's they grow all the prison systems food on the farm within the Razor wire fences. School busses full of road crews leave to maintain GA highways everyday. All GA jails are full of corrupt employees LIKE THIS UGLY TO THE BONE wannabe politician
WRONG!
Lies she is ignorant and she needs to be indicted for rico herself and that will be her Karma

This lady is Absolutely Amazing, She talks with Authority and very knowledgeable about the Criminal System, Now I see why 45 is shaking in his boots,. He has a Tiger to contain with,..
This is why he can't keep lawyers on his team. When they realize what they're up against they bail out.
Yeah, 4 months later, now I see why 45 wasn't worried at all. This "tiger" will soon be wearing her stripes if the courts are fair.
How can anyone believe any word that comes out of her mouth do you understand what I mean saying that !
You mean Nathan Wade? 😅
No, I really don’t. Fantastic job, she is doing!
What is the courts apperance rate ?
Ive herd most of this we can fix it but its all good taĺk crime is down "" cùse"" there is new standers to arrest but not legaley enforced

HE's A Novice In The Job Of Reporting, Plain and Simple, This Interview Was Designed To Put HIM With Some Professional Recognition, Ain't Happening!
@@ezbreeze9762 Hi - I’m the reporter. What do you mean by this? In my view, I was simply trying to get basic answers to questions, and she answered them. I also thought it was important to post the entire interview because I thought she provided good context and perspective. Why do you think I posted the entire interview? I certainly didn’t do it because I looked great. I did it because I thought it was educational.
@@ReporterAndy You appeared to be biased, especially with the "question" about letting the Trump prosecution wait so some of the others can move forward. The country is on a precipice. Fani Willis may be critical to saving our democracy. She is under tremendous pressure. Yet you seemed intent on trying to trip her up. Although she handled you beautifully, she's a human being who has only so much energy. A good portion of We the People, tend to feel very protective of her, and don't like to see her maligned or stymied by politicians, or by the reporters carrying their water.
@ReporterAndy thank you for your reporting and responses. For me, I was learning from the basic questions but I feel like there needed to be more knowledge based rebuttals to her answers. It did me as the viewer a slight disservice bc we are rely on the reporter to go from basic to probing back to basic. The was a valuable interview. Tyfs
