      If you are getting a message saying check coolant and your coolant is full. You have a blown head gasket.

    North Star head gaskets fail so much because of a design flaw in head bolts being too thin in an aluminum block. There is a fix for it. Now. But your looking at having the whole engine being removed and yes it’s gonna be northwards of 3K.

    Hey. Why didn’t you just put the hose in a way that it would put the coolant back into the reservoir?

    Does anybody kbow how hot the Engine should run? Ours hot run from 180 to 230 degrees. New Radiator, thermostat, cooland flush, and runnin Prestone G-05. No exhaust in coolant.

      This video is wrong. At the time, I thought it was right. The engine had a blown head gasket. When I checked it with a block tester. Either the line is stopped up or there is so much exhaust gas in the coolant. The water pump can't pump coolant.

      When I made this video. I thought this was working. Now I think the coolant system will bleed it's self. Do a block test. If it turn green you have a light leak. ua-cam.com/video/VBlpBvmI8FI/v-deo.html

      When I made this video. I thought I had to bleed air from the system. You don't have to do this. Take the cap off and run the engine. It will bleed air out. Also when I made this video. I didn't know I had a blown head gasket. Watch this video and try block testing fluid. If it turn green. You have a blown head gasket. ua-cam.com/video/VBlpBvmI8FI/v-deo.htmlsi=sCOS_sCx_bnwxwdC

      @@blackericdenice so now it won’t start no more, you got an email or something, nothing will start it… like my lights and radio come on but it won’t start, after changing the alternator it started right up, but I was getting greyish smoke from the exhaust & my temp was rising fast… I cut it off, let it cool to try again & now it won’t start… when I put the key in tho, I get lights, radio, I can lock & unlock my doors, etc. but no clicking, no starting… someone told me to jump it for 10-15 minutes and see what’s up after that

      I have stopped my engine from running hot. I had to remove it and take it apart. One of my head bolt hole threads were stripped out from the factory. You don't have to drill out all 20 holes and replace them with studs. I bought a thread repair kit off ebay for $150. You can reuse your stock head bolts. Only torque them to 50 lbs.-ft torque. This part one of 40 plus videos. ua-cam.com/video/BDQD8Aamhu4/v-deo.htmlsi=VEA8J5nD9uIkMTPJ

      @@tony3x If you had grey smoke. Your engine probably has hydrolocked. Water is in your cylinders and the engine won't turn. It need to be removed and rebuilt. This is not going to be cheap if you can find someone to do it. I live in Atlanta and I had to do it myself. My email is 251370@yahoo.com. Leave your number and the time you want me to call.

    Bad idea. You are emptying the coolant from the reservoir and allowing air to enter the radiator

    • @tylermacleod4012
      @tylermacleod4012 Рік тому +4

      You must not know these engines. Reverse flow operated. So as long as your flowing coolant your getting rid of air stuck in the lines. Add coolant to the reservoir as you go. These engines MUST have this done at least 1-2 times a year including a flush especially when they are old or sit a lot. They build up corrosion and deposits fast it’s about the design of the engine that pleagued them. Religious maintenance is what keeps these expensive engines on the road. They are not a LS
