    Another great video. The time lapse was very clean today. I appreciate that you maintain the work space as you go.

    There’s still a hole near the exhaust vent LOL. I love how you always tidy up as you go. Most builders just leave one huge mess until the end which drives me crazy. Have a great weekend. 😀

    As much as I enjoy watching you do what I do on a daily basis, as a double glazing installer of over 20 years experience that could only be described as ‘how not to install French doors’ 🤣
    For the time you two stood there holding the frame,when you used too much foam holding the frame in place which judging by the fact you had to touch the hinges immediately has closed the opening up!
    You should have fixed it in place 1st then foam the thing.....also buy custom made double glazing not that B&Q rubbish 😁
    Keep up the good work 👍🏻

    I give you an “A” grade for the effort you made to wear protective eye gear today (even though they were already off by the middle of the video, lol).

    Just watching this video now, work looks mint, but I couldn’t help but notice the lack or mechanical fixings in the frame to the brickwork? Looked like it was just secured using foam? Surely that’s not the case though?..

    Great job, been enjoying your videos since I found your channel a week ago.
    As a fan I want to throw it out there that your scarf/mask can't be doing much to protect you especially with the grinder. Grab yourself a respirator.
    Edit: Just seen the mask underneath, glad to see :)

    No toe and heel ? And the screws for handle go on inside 😂

    • @darrenthebuilder

      The screw on this handles only go one one side. Atleast know what you’re taking about if you’re going to mock people.

      @stevenb007 Рік тому

      @@darrenthebuilderI know he was mocking, but I believe he’s right about the handle, mate. For security, the screws go inside. You have to turn the handles around 180 degrees to make them face the correct way, before you push it on to the spindle.

      Normally take of 10mm top and bottom. But its always a good idea to check the internal plaster reveals. Because they fitted in a nee opening than the plaster can be set at whatever depth.
      Add-on or frame extension would be required if the plaster reveals are thick.
      a bit of though with a door as well, especially patios as need o be square in the opening, otherwise door will have trouble locking etc. A good idea is to check the diagonals, they should be the same measurement to say that the door frame is square within the opening.

    • @darrenthebuilder
      @darrenthebuilder  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Paul, I’m sorry let me correct my last comment. I misunderstood the question. I thought you ment how much bigger is the door than the old opening.
      The door is a 1500 x 2100mm door. Manufacturer requires the opening to be 1500 x 2100 which is the opening we have. The door itself is actually a little smaller. Basically the advertised size (1500x2100) is usually the size of the opening and the door is slightly smaller. I think it’s 1490 x 2090. Hope that make sense.
