REI Presents: Aniakchak, A Wild Love Story

- Graham and Shannon are experienced athletes in alpine climbing and ultimate frisbee, respectively. But the adventurous couple is on a quest to try new outdoor sports together. In 2017, they tried mountain biking for the first time. This time they’re giving packrafting a go.
After eight months of planning and training, they embark on a 10-day adventure to the remote Aniakchak caldera in Alaska. From wind and rainstorms to popped packrafts, they quickly learn that nothing could have fully prepared them for the adventure that ensues.

Whoever was shooting the video with them, third-wheeler of the century.
Exactly what I was thinking!
Looks like it was 2 people with them shooting the video, and for safety
I wish they mentioned the other 2 people like damn there’s more then 2!
@@GamerRadar they are acknowledged in the end and they are shown in the bloopers
I don’t blame them for having others w them but it does take away from the sense of adventure and danger. But I don’t blame them for wanting to make movie especially if rei was paying.
So happy you enjoyed it, Israel! 👍😉
You two just set the new standart high for couple goals, lol. What an adventure!
I love these two's personality! What a great team.
Same, they're just so funny!
Well done. I imagine this was extremely hard to document with the weather and water! Hats off to the film crew for sure!!!
My favorite REI vid
Great video... As a paddler who is addicted to kayaking in Alaska, I feel compelled to say that isn’t a Grizzly bear. At the coast, this grizzly cousin is the Coastal Brown bear, which is actually larger (evolved eating a salmon, protein rich diet) and more aggressive as they have no forest to run to for safety.
My respect goes to Shannon doing the heavy pack work, true grit. I've done my fair share of packrafting trips and the hiking parts can be brutality, but once you hit the water the good times begin.
Nice video & great experience, thanks for sharing.... BUT I have to admit that my absolute FAVORITE moment in the whole thing was the guy screaming toward the sky at the top of his lungs at the end of the closing credits!! Priceless!
Thanks for sharing this trip, this experience! Awesome and bless you!
Awesome story! Great people! Luv this~

Randomly clicked on this vid and they raft the river in a white water raft guide on when they’re learning :)
It's a pretty rough looking canyon from the satellite. I wouldn't run it either.

Rei should carry fishing gear, and hunting gear, and guns 💪
