    Nice one Cheech. A thought... Instead of shaving the mask and bagging it why don't you just cut a suitable clump directly off the skin, preen it to get the guard hair to underfur ratio you want and spin that in the dubbing loup. I do all my fur collars like this so I can control fiber length and density - IMHO think that having the naturally tapered guard hairs radiating out from the fly looks/moves better than radom ends of hair sticking out all over the place. I tie the bodies on all my Copper Johns the way you do on this fly - so much smoother!

      Hank Vana2 that’s always an option too. The tapers on a hare’s mask are so slight, that it seems to move the same if you do it this way.

    That’s a really nice looking fly but is it going to fall apart on the first fish with the way the wire is just glued on?
