You can hear the leaves falling as Roger Williams plays the notes. It's a haunting song of autumn's ending.

This is really beautiful! "Autumn Leaves" was one of the biggest instrumental hits of the time, and is a song I always think of whenever fall comes around. Thank you very much for posting this! It's from an episode of Ed Sullivan in which new up and coming young talent was featured, including Roger Williams. It also featured a performance of "It's Almost Tomorrow" by the Dream Weavers which is one of the most beautiful songs of the 1950's. More '50's music and singers please! Thank you! :)

When I was a kid, my mom always played Mr. Williams' albums. I loved it then, and now that I'm an old lady (ha ha!), I really love listening to 'Autumn Leaves' in particular, his technique is just spectacular.

I attended Roger’s memorial service held at the Richard Nixon birthplace in Yorba Linda Ca his band played this with a recording of Roger on playing. It was beautiful.

From a bygone era, in fact it is the single most successful sole instrumental track to date. Nowadays it would be nigh impossible to get a track with nothing but pure piano and violin playing to reach #1 on any chart let alone the billboard top 100.

Back when American Popular Culture had Beauty and Grace. Not the decadent or degenerate pop culture of these times...

Behind closed doors it likely was the same old debauchery as today.

I've seen him play it live at least 25 or 30 times, as I moved his piano around the US on concert tour in the 90s. I can tell you, he got better with age. Also, he really loved playing for a live audience instead of for the cameras.

I love the forced perspective of making that couple look like they are dancing on the piano.

It also sounds similar to Chopin Etude. Winter wind...! It feels more colder :)
개인적으로는 쇼팽 겨울바람의 모티브가 좀 느껴져서인지... 더 쓸쓸한 어텀립스로 들리네요ㅎㅎ

I could do without the background dancers. It takes away from the music..
