Important to note - while DST get the most benefit from the trick, due to low native align, almost all ships can use the trick. Although the prop choice and timing for cloak activation/deactivation change depending on each ship's specific stats. Sometimes oversized prop is the only way to go... Exceptions for trick use are freighters, due to obvious lack of high and mid slots, and Orca - that baby has such bad align, that at best you can get a couple of seconds cloaked with 500mn. Which is nowhere near enough to avoid getting scanned/ganked. Frigates/fast destroyers also make poor choice for the trick, as fast align times will generally be enough to avoid danger. Most other ships can be made suited for trick either through fiddling with the fit, or just raw practice. Making it quite a valuable trick to know, if you're just working towards Blockade Runners or other Cov Ops, but want to move expensive stuff around now.
Yes, any ship can use this, the later presentarions with undersized props and ab were done with a badger to show that you can do it with any of the hauling ships. Small ships can still use this to try avoiding instalockers or if you go into ns and enter bubble through a gate, but have no choice but to push forward rather than crashing
Thanks for a clear explanation of that, you've got a sub from me. I would ask two questions please:- What size of MWD do you use for DST's, and do you run into capacitor problems?
50 MN is what works for me, 500 will provide massive fitting problems. If you have a lot of big systems to go through, you might get some issues, but usually the slow warp speed of a DST allows you to regain enough cap to keep going indefinetly
That is on my list of topics, but the real life has been kicking my butt recently. I need to catch up on some topics and get back to releasing more exploration related stuff like this, because this has recently become a hauling channel :D
I’ve been playing since 2008, and this is the first video I’ve seen that clearly demonstrated this technique. Liked and subscribed!
That is a sight for sore eyes, thank you!
Im a new hauler trying to figure things out, thanks for taking the time to do these videos.
You are very welcome, that is the idea - to build a library where anyone can find something useful for themselves :)

With skills enough you can do orca cloak mwd trick with a single mwd cycle, if skills arent good enough it takes 2.
I find an AB lowers a warp/align to 7.5 seconds. But I’m curious to test/compare this.
If you get enough thrust from it, it could, but I think you would need to get oversized one or cut cloak faster

Great explanation of this technique!
A skill as old as time itself
And always useful
hiya, please could you make a video on how to escape gate camp bubbles?

@@GildiiAuscent I completely understand. As and when you get the time. No hurry. Cheers!!
Does this work in Pochven?
Unless the gate is bubbled, it does!
@@GildiiAuscent sweet, gonna make PI much safer
Smartbombs go brrrrr
Not if you tie this trick with still tanking your hauler properly
Something 90% of players will never use.
Yes, but hopefully a few more stumble upon this and make ot 89%
I've been doing it wrong the whole time
*the more you know plays in the background*
