For younger or less athletic players, you can show the ball high as you’re gathering towards the rim. Show the ball high and look at the rim with big eyes as you’re doing your gather steps. Switch it up. Sometimes show the ball on your first step. Sometimes show it late, after your second step before you actually jump. It can throw off a shot blocker’s timing.
