Like what Oliver said, energy shields can deflect the big lasers. Also, you guys should start using different commanders. Spook will be helpful when you're doing the randomized buildings so you can see what just appeared in the other person's base.

Have you ever thought about defending against the orbital Strikes with energy shields? It works in the campaign...

Does blitz know that the orbital laser can be upgraded to give you decreased reload time and a literal trajectory visualizer
You should do a battle where both of you have a massive amount of resources
Intern will still just get a sniper and blitz will still just get missiles lol
And unlimited upgrades
And no building production
If you did a turn based twist to it where you each took turns to balance it out a bit?
Every single time they play regular, non high seas battleships they do that, except they don't actually get any production, so it doesn't turn into that
That was so cool at 21:39, where Blitz just unleashed everything!
I think what's going on is that if the mod calculates HEAT and ATGM with any kind of realism, they are not going to have a huge impact on the forts as a whole. They're meant to punch through armor and hit stuff inside (aka guns or components right behind metal reinforced walls.) So hitting just metal reinforced panels with just more fort behind it would damage the fort and should cause a lot of internal damage to the immediate vicinity behind the hit plating, but they're really inadequate across spaced armor (or when you have the metal plating and then a bunch of space before anything important or explosive.)
Basically you should be using ATGM's and HEAT rounds against metal doors and/or metal plates you think there's something hiding right behind it. In a game play way of thinking about it (and a very inaccurate way of thinking about it) it's like if Intern had a huge shield and sat behind it and mocked you. HEAT and ATGM's (which are guided missiles with a HEAT warhead on the end) would be like you kicking his shield so hard you actually punch a perfect Blitz-shoe-sized hole into his shield and you still kick him in the craw.
The way to defend against it is shoot them down (duh) or create distance between armor. Layers of armor between your gunners and the outer most layer of armor will help prevent HEAT from punching through. HEAT's primary method of killing, namely tanks, is to burn a small hole through armor and then burn into explodey bits like ammo. For tanks, burning through core systems like the transmission or some key electrical lines also works in taking the thing out, but making the ammo cook off is usually the MO of HEAT rounds. Just a bit of brain stuff for you to bring to the fort field next time.
Remember that these fellers are incompetent, they are not going to remember all that.
Every time you hit intern with the orbital laser his machine guns just barely missed. I kept thinking, why doesn't he just build more machine guns then he wouldn't keep getting hit. I wonder if he would've done it sooner how the game would have gone. Loving these Forts videos, could binge watch these all day. Keep them coming!!

Blitz..it's "It was always burning, since the world's been turning". You made me think it was churning but I knew I heard the song right it's TURNING.
have you tried playing around with flying forts? it requires a little bit of thinking but you should be able to learn that after a few failed airships. there's a mob called flying forts that adds antigravity devices, balloons, propellers, and tarps(parachutes). to control an airship, you can use your core or Shockenaugh's remote controlling barrels ability. to shoot downwards, you can use carpet bombs from the mod, portals from weapons in your main base, or drop explosive barrels.

Basically the ATGM is a really big bullet, allowing the damage to be more concentrated. This is also what the HEAT round does.
I'd like to see APFSDS and HESH rounds added. Especially the HESH rounds.

@Blitz you can upgrade the moving lazer to a static lazer and cut a ship in half from the ammo itself then you switch the gun after right clicking it

ATGM stands for Anti tank guided missile and APCR is for armour piercing composite rigid or if you are american, HVAP is high velocity armour its the same as APCR. Also HEAT stands for high explosive anti tank.

watching this im actually surprised they got the effect of the ATGM and HEAT ammo somewhat right.... for blitz to know if it already hasnt been mentioned. HEAT shells are shaped charged for penetrating armor, while not doing much on the initial piece of armor, they inject many tiny bits of hot metal going very very fast past said armor.. spaced armor, mitigating the effects.
I think ATGM is like HEAT (High Explosive Anti Tank. It funnels the explosion into a small point to penetrate as far as possible, but doesn’t do as much material damage in the form of a big, round explosion)
Edit: Google says ATGM means “Anti Tank Guided Missile”. So the one u used was one with HEAT. Pretty much a HEATGM
