I love how he dodges talking about "Silicon Valley". Many of his ideas are identical to those which Paul Graham presented in "Hackers & Painters". One Graham-ism is that you can't always say what you really think, which is true.
Shout out to how that girl trolls Thiel in the beginning. It's unexpected, interesting and nice to make him say unusual things. That's ironic 95% of Thiel interviews go to the same questions and answers and even the same phrasing when his message is literally "do something new"
Why the hell did they choose this person to do any interviews at all. She's awful. Bumbling through every question. She acts like she was asked to do the interview 5 minutes before they started. She seems heavily Unprepared and that's just one problem she's having. She's awful. I find crunchbase has terrible people interviewing and mc-ing. What's up with that? Very weird.
Come on people, give her a break (This is a real person you are talking about). I googled her other interviews and can say to a reasonable degree of certainty that she was just having a spot of shyness/stage fright (or that she is zonked in all of her interviews). Besides this was not the most awkward session by Tech Crunch or even silicon valley standards (It was positively a Steve Jobs Keynote compared to some of Zuckerberg's interviews) Also, Is it just me or did the video editor actually want to capture all the awkward moments/expressions?
+Nidal Rashid She never seemed to ask follow-up questions. How is Uber ethically challenged? She's always looking down at her pad looking for her next question. It's not a conversation.
Tech crunch has a monopoly on shitty hosts at events.
I so want to see a company which does tech events better and shows tech crunch how it's done
Dheeraj Bhaskar amen. I thought I was the only one to think exactly what you wrote.
Indeed!
this lady is slurring like a teenager who has been secretly sipping on wine before she is summoned into the front room to meet your guests.
i don't mean to offend but is the host on drugs?
She is absolutely not qualified to host an interview like this.
maybe, the original host was out late the night before banging hookers and doing blow - and emailed Alexia the questions 20 min before the interview..
Whoa. It's Ryan Fee...!
Tech Crunch went through a period of hiring ultra low IQ, unprofessional interviewers.
I AGREE, THIS WOMAN IS UNDER THE INFLUENCE! SERIOUSLY!!! HOW INSULTING TO HER GUEST. HOW HE WAS ABLE TO RESPOND TO HER SHOWS HIS GENIIUS.
Peter was a classy guest, and the commenters criticising should learn from his example.
Wow. Awkward start.
Wow. Every comment is true.
is she on heroin
This chick is high as hell. Terrible choice for an interviewer. I doubt Peter will ever do a TC interview again.
Love Peter Thiel. What he does already consistent with what he says
Is she drunk?
The sound is cringe worthy.
Great guy, very grateful to listen to smartpantses like him.
VRO THIS RLLY THE BEST INTERVIEWER YOU COULD BRING OUT FOR DIS
Interviewer was no good, but Thiel was interesting.
What’s wrong with the host? Is she high??
interviewer is terrible. Complete disaster to put her next to Peter Thiel.
Can we get a better question person.
Wtv works for him he cant teach or explain to someone so what are we doing with this guy?
Lots of comments on the host, but i'm sure none of you all can do any better.

Who noticed the mosquito???
This interviewer seems like she has never asked a person a question before.
Host looks drunk
yeah.

The lady sounds superficial. She didn't study anything about Peter before the interview.
I don’t know if Zuckerberg copied the voice of this guy. Anyways!
20:50 lmaooo

That fly is so annoying keeps coming back at him. ~TechCrunch Distract

she is naive
Worst interview ever!
This is such a bad interview
Look how poor this guy is! He's got a fly buzzing around him and everything, don't invest in any of his companies.
