The T-60 is one of the best production guitars ever made. For 1979, it was incredibly innovative and cutting-edge. Hartley Peavey set out to manufacture an American-made guitar that was more versatile and better quality for essentially half the cost. In that era, Peavey really understood how to help out a working musician with something that was superb in quality and built to last.
Yes I will always keep it. It is a great guitar.
It was the first guitar I ever owned. Recently, I bought the same year (1982) I used when I was a kid.
Cool story. Looking forward to more Doc Talk. Keep up the great vids!
I really would like to start doing interviews with other musicians. It would be fun.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios nice video did you know that the peavey t60 was also the first guitar ever to be built using a cnc machine
Nikola Bakich yes I did. Peavey always ahead of the game.
Wow bro all classics you are teaching a great lesson. Thank you for sharing.
haha thanks. I still cringe when i think about it. I don't think books are as popular as learning off the internet these days. I still enjoy site reading to keep my chops up. I will be doing more play/music theory type videos coming out on Fridays.
Nah, what's up Doc!? Thanks for the story and for showing us the guitar! I have the t-40 bass and love it, but I would also like to have the t-60 (in matching sunburst with the bass of course). BUT, can you tell me why you have changed the neck of the t-60? It looks really cool actually. What neck is this?
Best regards from Denmark ;-)
Not a T-60.. like a Yugo with 57 Chevy tail fins ain't a 5-7.
Yeah i changed the neck but the first one I bought years ago was also a T-60.
Great story
Don’t beat yourself up bro; we’ve all done it 😁
With whatever neck that is, this is no longer a T-60. The razor-thin neck is the best part of a T-60. I have three of them. Mine are no longer T-60's as I added a center Peavey pickup to each of them and rewired them. But, as I said, neither is yours. My first guitar was a T-60. I wish I still had that guitar no matter how badly I beat the crap out of it.
A T60 is more about the body shape and the pickups than the actual neck. The original neck is way too thin for my taste.
With a neck, you put the original neck back on with 4 screws and you have an intact T-60. With cut up pick guards, extra pickups and wired incorrectly, you have a butchered guitar. Too bad you did it to three!
I need a replacement neck for mine, where is a good source to buy one
Dennis Gaffney it takes a standard Tele neck so you can get them anywhere.
Dude, those books are worthless now. They are all free online. The Peavey T-60 is still an awesome guitar. But did you tell us where the neck went?
andylaurence69 I sold the neck to a guy in Nashville.
