Never got how those extra fearures really worked back in shadowlands. The partys, the garden or custom creature. It was so confusing and not fun at all.
As someone who didn't play during SL, it's one of the most glaring issue while trying to get those past rewards. There seem to be a lot of systems that are so opaque, I don't think any other expansion would be so confusing to go back to (usually the main issue is "I have to do a campaign quest to unlock a zone/a raid").
The approach I took in SL was to collect the covenant campaign variant for every armour type. So I ran each covenant campaign 4 times per covenant. This is very doable and maybe a single campaign run through would unlock all 4 armour types now. The other collectable armours that require a lot more time and effort grinding currency or maxing each covenant system are just colour variations of these and some are very similar. I’m not inclined to go back to that grind with so much else to do in current WOW.
A few tips to mention to maximize your cosmetic and achievement farming. The Nathria weapons share the same color for lfr through heroic, only mythic is different. You will have to switch covenants to collect every mog from the Nathria weapon tokens. There are items for the covenant features like abomination factory and path of ascension which will only drop while you are in that covenant. If you are still missing wild shapes, you should find out what they are and be Night Fae when you do that content, like the dragon from beating heroic Danathrius. Same goes for certain abom factory costume pieces which will count toawrd the shadowlands "do everything" meta. Be night fae when you turn in Maw dailies so you can get seeds for the queens conservatory. Check what Korthia dailies give you pieces for the covenant sets and switch covenants accordingly. Since you're going to be collecting anima anyway, you can complete the weekly collect 1k anima quest for some gold, and it can be done on each covenant. If you haven't already, start on the abom factory and night fae transport network rep as both of those are fairly time gated.
I’m really looking forward to these changes, but I take issue with the fact that there are appearances that are locked behind covenant rep. Which is something they said (before SL) they weren’t going to do anymore. And ion just said covenant rep WON’T be account-wide. VERY frustrating …
I have some stuff I can do there, a couple of toons who have enough to get things done. I have All The Things, and thanks for the other addon, that's a new one. I'm a transmogaholic and love collecting everything, mounts, pets, mog and toys. My husband thinks i'm nuts but I love it. Since I don't do raid/dungeons much, if at all, having other ways to get some things helps. I do run them solo well after the current content has moved along, though. :)
Once you get to level 80 in covenants, it is easier for other alts to level up as well. On an alt you can buy a token that will bring your level to 60 and do some quests and get it to 80 and bam get the transmog gear and make some coin along the way. done it with 2 toons slowly working on it for the rest eventually
Also, if you have your adventure table maxed, especially if you have a character in each covenant, you can log in once or twice a day to farm anima and pet currency (if you choose). There are a couple of addons that make that a couple of clicks per character.
Esxactly! Thats how i unlocked 16 times the special events on my alts. 4 alts for the tmogs sets each one unlocking the 4 covenants, the really anoying part was to rescue souls from the maw. They can do all sorts of unlocks for shadowlands but unless they increase the anima drop rate heavily, then I will not go back to it. It was awful as a collector. I probably only collected 5% of what is available. That is how much I hated it.
You can basicly make it into a weekly thing. Because you still earn gold from the weekly coventant sanctum for geting 1000 anima. Also. Did, Soul. Did you see the funny thing this season? That you CAN upgrade the season 2 gear... YOU CAN UPGRADE SEASON 2 gear.. But you cant upgrade season 3 stuff.. Its a very nice thing . Since we got fcked over the 4 weeks of geting heroic gear from timewalking
one thing i gotta ask Since when are you able to join multiple covenants at once? Wasn't it that you had to choose one and stick by it? If you ever leave let's say Revendreth, you loose every perk and Anima Conducter Progress and overall Covenan Access to this Covenant. That is why i maxed out one for Bastion, one for Ardenweald, one for Revendreth and one for Maldraxxus (4 characters) Is it true that my tauren Shaman could have done all four..and not get penalized for leaving their previous covenant to join a new one?
So this might be a very noob question but I didn't follow SL much in the latter part of the expansion and after. If I am a Night Fae and switch to Necrolord, if I go back to Night Fae do I start at level 1 or does it keep a snapshot of where I was before I switched? From what he said in the video it is the latter. When they first introduced the covenant switching I thought there was some sort of penalty round where you have to do menial tasks until you can get to where you start out at level 1. I could be completely wrong though. But regardless, do you start out at level 1 in the covenant you are switching to? I'm a big collector and my misconceptions around the covenants in SL have always kept me away from doing them all.
Can't wait for Sanctum to become legacy. I've yet to collect all armor types other than plate, lmao like you I only focused on one character in SL (my DK).
You can buy the mythic sanctum appearances from the auction house if you didnt want to wait for SL raids to become legacy. They share the same appearances with the shadowlands legendary base white items.
so once question with the shadowlands mogs, does that also include the covenant campaign sets? so if I do them ill be able to buy the sets on one toon as well?
i watched the video now 3 times and as a returner to wow, i still do not get/understand on how to unlock these Covenants.. Where do i need to go to and start these that i can farm ? Is there a specific quest to take ?
I still don’t get it. If you unlocked the leather Transmog for say path of ascension Kiryan will that now mean that the plate, cloth and mail ones are now unlocked? Or is it that all leather transmogs for all the different covenants now available so you don’t have to to another covenant. All characters already have access to transmogs that have been unlocked if they are the same type eg leather currently
Regarding PoA ensembles, those have entirely different names on the vendor. There is no general "path of ascension ensemble" that would apply to all armor types and need to be earned separately.
@@SoulSoBreezy thanks sorry that was a bad example. Are we just unlocking renown transmog for all characters? If so I don’t understand as that’s already account wide

I still have not stepped foot inside of Shadowlands and never plan to unless things get nerfed/reworked. There is so much else to play around in that I refuse to strap myself into a misery grind.
Well a lot of it is extremely nerfed simply because your character(s) are much more powerful now. Torghast is a fine example... something that was once nail-biting and time consuming is now just a walk through the park on even the highest difficulties (and of course completely soloable).
I see no reason to collect all this gear if I'm not going to use it on my toon. I do transmog farming, but only for those sets I enjoy seeing my toons using them.
There is, but you gotta consider the work towards setting other characters up to farm said offerings. Time-wise it might be faster, but it's double the work that I could be spent doing something else.
Legion was my favourite, but Shadowlands is second. Going in I didn’t think I’d like the theme but thoroughly enjoyed it, except Korthia, of course. Castle Nathria was a fantastic raiding experience personally: my first curve (been playing since mop), first mythic raiding, raid leading, became assistant gm, scouted into top server guild (until blizz had their pr mare and it fell apart, thanks blizz), most importantly it was so fun!
I fell off of Shadowlands.. in Bastion. And personally I feel the transmog system is really flawed, like the change they made so that Common gear is Bind-on-Equip (meaning a Rogue for example could no longer have Cloth starting gear traded to them as RP gear)
Ha! No. I’m not wasting time earning renown again there. Never even maxed it as anyone but one toon and that’s because that was my main. Every other toon never bothered. The grind is not worth it again for renown. I’d grind currency, but not renown. That takes longer than just getting currency.
I hope those Mogs are worth it. If it's super long dresses or full plated shoulders, then 🤮 I like the pants the druids got with the dreamwardens. But the skirt is puffy, if we could get a shorter skirt or just the pants, those great. Half classy mog half slutmog 😅
Never understand the hate of shadowlands i liked it more then dragonflifght so far. The only good thing about DF is faster flying but i hate that at the same time as i have 550+ mounts i never get to see anymore. The awesome amounts of mounts to collect was great as a mount collector. DF is void of that content from day one.
Hot take here but i prefered shadowlands to dragonflight, some system were annoying and the story was so bad in a way it cant be salvaged but dragonflight just be a snoozefest, its not really bad but its not good, i just felt bored most of the time, at least with shadowlands along with the bad was things i liked too ... let me have it guys but i said what i said :)

I see no reason to collect all this gear if I'm not going to use it on my toon. I do transmog farming, but only for those sets I enjoy seeing my toons using them.
Ok but isn't there incentive to have multiple characters farming offerings???
There is, but you gotta consider the work towards setting other characters up to farm said offerings.
Time-wise it might be faster, but it's double the work that I could be spent doing something else.
Im so sorry to the character I'll send to the Shadowlands again. Im so, so sorry.
I liked shadowlands it had good PVP.
Juat have the currency account wide.
I fell off of Shadowlands.. in Bastion.
And personally I feel the transmog system is really flawed, like the change they made so that Common gear is Bind-on-Equip (meaning a Rogue for example could no longer have Cloth starting gear traded to them as RP gear)
partially correct. but once Learned, ___cosmetic___ gear stays real gear so you can't learn it again.
I don't care who blizzard sends, I'm not going back to the shadowlands!
I come from future, anima isn't tradable
Ha! No. I’m not wasting time earning renown again there. Never even maxed it as anyone but one toon and that’s because that was my main. Every other toon never bothered. The grind is not worth it again for renown. I’d grind currency, but not renown. That takes longer than just getting currency.
Loved Shadowlands.
Let me get a second life so i Can get All of those things 😂
some day, i'll go back there... but as far as the immediate future goes... fuck THAT.
You couldn't pay me to touch shadowlands content lol
I am like number 518
“Go back to Shadowlands????” 😅 Time to unsubscribe from Soul…
lol yeah I dont know if I'm ready to go back to SL... for anything!.
Blasphemy! But it IS shadowlands 😂
First
Hot take here but i prefered shadowlands to dragonflight, some system were annoying and the story was so bad in a way it cant be salvaged but dragonflight just be a snoozefest, its not really bad but its not good, i just felt bored most of the time, at least with shadowlands along with the bad was things i liked too ... let me have it guys but i said what i said :)
yeah noooooooo
Go…back…to….Shadowlands.
No.
I'm never going back to that expansion lmao. Still annoying af.
No.
Ask him if he can ask Trump to legalize marijuana, pardon Edward Snowden and Jullian Assange.
Shadowlands is trash and theres nothing you can say to convince me to start doing it. Good informative video tho.
