I really enjoy watching your videos. I love the music 🎶 you play in the background. So glad that Chad turned me on to your channel. God bless you and your family 🙋🏻♀️♥️🇺🇸
Lol doesn’t take them long to work it over!!! Funny …. Your fold is beautiful! Lol that is funny, it would be nice to inherit all those things for your farm. So much fun to follow your journey. All the best!
I AM A BIG FAN OF CHAD ALDER AND GRANDPA ALDER I JOINED THERE CHANNEL A WHILE BACK I SAW WHEN HE BOTH YOUR BULL HE IS GETTING BIGGER I WAS HOPING CHAD WOULD HAVE POSTED YOUR CHANNEL SO I COULD HAVE JOIN YOUR CHANNEL THEN BUT I AM GLAD I FINALLY FOUND YOU THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME JOIN YOUR CHANNEL
I am new to your Chanel and just love your beautiful highland cattle. Good for you with going slow as you can afford it to improve your farm. God bless you as you grow your business.🇨🇦
I have lots of hopes and ideas for our little place. I watch several farm channels and I often wonder, "How can they afford that fencing, that feed, that tractor..... Thank you for this!
ADLER FARMS AND WALKER FARM FAM GOT INTO HIGHLANDS, NOW I'M WAITING FOR KEEPING IT DUTCH AND HIDDEN HEIGHTS FARM TO FOLLOW LOL. LOVE WATCHING YOUR CHANNEL.
Gorgeous highlands and I love your videos as they’re very informative! Can you make them a little longer so we can get to know which fuzzybear (highland) is which by name they are so darn cute!
Yes, quite a juggling game with managing costs vs income. Sadly many costs keep rising unexpectedly, while income also remains uncertain till after the fact. So year profit is very uncertsin.
I enjoyed watching your pasture puppies follow you around. They are such amazing animals. Their excitement over a new hay bale is a sight to be seen and I’m so glad you produced this video that us city folk can experience it. Thank you!
Heh Rhett. Love watching your videos. Interesting to hear your perspective on starting & running a farm. Costs & weather can be crippling. Those coos were hilarious ripping up that round bale🤣 Take care & cheers from 🐨🦘🥰
Love your videos and cows. You mentioned a bull calf could sell for a little over a thousand dollars. Was wondering for how much a female calf would sell? Watching you and your family care for your cows really warms my heart. Thank you!
Bottle baby might be nice to show young people . Like the 4H' ers Ithink that is what they called the young ranchers . If you have really tame one it would be nice to show people .
There’s a cart that you put the round bale in that has a spare right in the middle and it’s on wheels and then you drag it around your pasture and it unrolls the whole bail in the theory is they don’t trample it all into one spot and waste so much and you’re reseeding your pasture
Our highlands go at the round bales the same way! We have been using a tombstone hay ring that’s made for horses. Been using it for 3 years now and it has worked out great. Really saves on hay loss. As far as a squeeze chute we have found that the manual head gate works out best. It’s hard for them to get those horns worked through the way an automatic catch works. Hope this helps!
I'm hoping to rotationally/regeneratively graze to significantly reduce feed costs (with 1-2 cows on 5 acres) but this was super helpful to have a realistic expectation and what to be prepared for. But, like you said, you also get to a point where you just need to start and figure it out!
They sure know how to break that hay bale up with their horns! 😁
I really enjoy watching your videos.

A rancher who's chanel I watch decreased their costs this year by buying in bulk from a grainery 70 miles away and has gained a significant savings.

Thank you! On the unregistered heifers probably 2k. The registered ones have been going at auction for 5-6k recently

Would silage work? I maybe saying that wrong.

A big round hay bale can crush a man . I knew of a young man that was half way under one for hours . He is not on earth now .
2 buckets from 1500 lbs...bout 50lbs ?
