Additionally, I found that using the gloves Atziri's Acuity can maximize the life leech effect. As long as you don't get one-shot, your health stays in a pretty good state. Moreover, it also provides a significant critical strike chance bonus, which is highly beneficial for our build.
If you use double curse in blasphemy you need to use doedre ring for additional curse for impending doom to work. This is an even bigger sacrifice imo since rings are so good. There’s a lot of minmaxing left to do here, if you really need spirit (idk what you would use though, blink maybe) you could get against the darkness jewel with spirit or replace defiance
Looks satisfying destructive ! I liked playing the Death's Oath build in poe. Throwing blasting curses around feels awesome, when it actually hurts. But to get there though >.>
awesome. this was so informative. i was wondering if cursed ground worked like it did in poe1 also does increased cooldown recovery rate work with impending doom?
I played vixens build a long long time ago and from what I remember the cdr was important for vixens itself not ID? Either way I wouldn't worry about it here since ID is only used to one shot screens not single target dps
Hi i'm running a similar build but with Archmage and blasphemy. I found that if you scale area and curse area high enough you only need hexblast for clearing very comfortably. I also use a weapon swap soul offering to almost double my damage for 20s I have a video on my channel of it in action it's way faster clear if you just one hexblast every pack.
I improved my gear a bit since the video and have a lot more aoe now. Even then I do not think clearing with Hexblast has any merit. Impending doom is just so much better with coverage and you can get 2 six links in poe2 anyway. I use ID 95% of the time, only use Hexblast to one shot a rare or kill bosses. Archmage is interesting but so expensive , will test that
@@aitchpe yeah and with kitoko's gloves archmage lets me permanently electrocute rares and 1/2times in boss fights. So many ways to build hexblast i'm glad people are making videos on it I learn a lot to improve. The chestpiece options you gave was very good info
I 'league started' this character doing multiple respecs on the way trying different skills. If I had to level now I'd do minions or spark. Chaos spells are really slow until maps imo
I switched to this in act 2 cruel but it really picks up when you get the 15% base crit ascendancy. You can skip crit nodes for chaos dmg and aoe until then
I wonder if itd be possible to go even harder into mana stacking and keeping the Black Doubt. For example, Atziri's disdain coupd grant you something like 600 mana from Eldritch battery and taking some mana nodes and focusing t8 mana as well on gear could go really hard. Would scale up impending doom better and also give you higher regen. What do you think?
Atziris disdain doesn’t work like that. Other than that I think with mirror tier gear this setup would be the best for sustain and allow us to drop defiance. Captain lance has 5k mana and. 1.6k regen(but he has arcane surge scaling). You need at least 15% mana regen per second for it to feel good imo. This is a lot of stats to manage - mana, life, mana regen, crit, crit damage, res. You could also get spirit on against the darkness and run archmage, but this needs even more mana regen and only benefits single target, I already one shot normal mobs. Overall good idea but we’re talking Disneyland or months of farming to get there.
Infernalist is currently better in almost every way. You just have to gear and work around the penalties (degen, reserved life and resists) but it is worth it
Another question - does the level of the curse influence the impending doom damage? Cause it seems very hard to manage the life costs with high level curses.
No, I forgot to mention it in the video, the curse you use for impending doom doesn’t matter since you want it to expire instantly. You can use any low level curse
maybe we can swap shield to sceptre to get more spirit for aura/ coc ? And we can utilising the sceptre aura (malice) to further increase our crit chance
Replacing a focus with a sceptre sucks imo. Sceptres have no good stats for crit builds and malice has an unimpressive radius. On top of that I’m currently on 89% crit chance so no need for malice really. I don’t see the case for spirit either, there are no interesting auras for this build I think and there is no reason to use coc when you one shot screens. Atm I think the only thing which replaces a focus is the surrender unique shield.
I use the 100 base spirit since I don’t see the need for more. If you do then there are 3 options - replace defiance for rare amulet, against the darkness jewel with spirit, unique shield with spirit
@aitchpe Got it thanks. I have having a blast last night with the new build but for some reason my aura stopped working now my whole character is bricked. Not sure what to do. Going to do some more research.
@@aitchpe I see. Wouldn't the recent essence drain buff help with single target damage? Since it doesn't at all with crit, guess it would be nice for infernalist. Idk tho
No point since there are no armor nodes at the top of the tree. I heard steelmage say on stream that 'armor is not noticable until u hit 10k, at 10k you start feeling really good'. Aint no way you are hitting 10k without tree scaling. If you want pdr outside progenesis and taken as mana there is an affix on str shields 'extra phys reduction'
"This build is absolutely brilliant! By giving up the practically useless Energy Shield (ES), it gains a massive pool of Mana instead. You need life Res and mana, trading that for 30% crit chance sounds really bad. Leech is 1s unlike poe1 so the instant leech is insignificant as well
I love the ideas here! I think I might try Covenant in my build; though you lose out on Spirit and I'm using double-curse Blasphemy.

How do you get to 31 damage taken from mana before life? 16 from tree, and it seems you dont even have every jewel socket with that stat?
I anoint mental perseverance. I might path there eventually in the endgame tree and anoint another defensive or offensive node

on single target, do you just spam hexblast, or go curse -> hexblast, curse -> hexblast, etc.?
You run blasphemy which curses mobs in range so you're just hex blasting away
