🥒ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but currently call Vietnam home. I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

Shizuka Anderson i love you 😀
Hope sunny youll try ippudo ramen in japan
Honestly this channel feels exactly like I'm just watching a travel cooking show on TV. The editing and content is so good. I'm consistently impressed.
True
I think this channel schools TV shows
Way better than on tv and any other food show.
I don't have any good links for you but people who were on the Travel Channel for food shows like Andrew Zimmern and others, will tell you how the industry and channel has changed a lot since we were younger. There's a reason there was a noticeable decline in such shows. I'm sure there's a good youtube documentary on it, but it's very interesting. Thankfully, great YT channels like this are taking their place.
There is no such thing as a TV show anymore. It's just "content". How it arrives to your eyes and ears is irrelevant.
Shizuka is one of the best co-hosts of Sonny. I'm glad they made a compilation of their adventures last time.
agreed. I hope they meet again.
Not to mention she’s easy on the eyes 😍
Nah wrong , no way.
Thats his wife

This is by far one of the best food documentaries on UA-cam right now. You show much respect for these amazing people who work together. It's a deep exploration of culture, an appreciation for life and the things we take for granted. The content and the work you put in speaks for itself. As a chef in Canada and an admiration to culinary diversity. With all due respect you have filled that gap Anthony left me with. Thank you for this channel Sonny. Seriously.. at this point I feel like Prime, Netflix or Discovery should step up and offer or something. Please don't lose your sense of humor, your drive and your beautiful bandana...
Not only does Sonny do a great, entertaining show, he somehow manages to capture the soul of the people living there in a way that you would not expect from a food show. I really get to feel what the people, culture, and country are like, experienced through their food. It's a truly spectacular and deeply connecting experience.
Shizuka was the best guest you’ve had yet! Her voice is so soothing, cute , and playful. Her laughter and smile is so sweet. Her expression and reaction to everything is so entertaining. You guys are so fun together. Loved her on your episode! Hope to see her more! Btw, your video editing is great! Loving how your channel has evolved. Very Anthony Bourdain with more humor! ❤
@dpenduro8950 wild. but true
"i could drop it in your mouth" - sonny to Shizukas.... noyzzzz🤣✌
@dpenduro8950not him being married 😭
she got wild rizz
really? I actually forgot til now how uncomfortable she makes me. she flirts....in a way that goes a lil too far, as if he's single. Like girl, why are you whooping and cheering with your whole body that sunny pounded some rice? things like that. great episode but I found myself cringing at them a lot
Sonny is just the best he knows when to interject jokes and it feels more like a conversation rather than a blunt documentary...I love this show
The ending was absolutely beautiful. As someone who grew up in a family that didn't always have the means to go to the store and grab beef like most people it gave me such a warm feeling. My sisters and I were all raised on venison and seeing people on the other side of the world show so much respect for something harvested from nature, something that sustained my family for generations is absolutely incredible.
Venison sausage is most delicious.
you were not financially wealthy, but just remember that you *were* rich in your own way. Venison is nearly always going to be a better cut of meat than beef.
Wow, thank you BEFRS for introducing Shizuka Anderson to us. I'll definitely try to check their content from now on. What a good duo you guys made in this series, absolutely loving the energy. Please consider doing an another collab together in future. Keep up the great work Sonny & BEFRS crew
Shizuka is such a darling. She's fun to watch and one of Sonny's best co-hosts by far. Also, I love all the places and food with a little bit of history on the side.
i just fell in love lol.
She is just a snob with no creativity. Even after editing.....
they are awesome, and im actually in love with shizzy haha

She makes the best and cutest co host! Sunny should be dating her! ❤
If you told me that I'd be spending hours on end watching a loud, bandana-clad American on a world food tour, I'd have called you crazy. And yet...
Honestly Sonny, you are one of the most sincere, genuine, open, fun, passionate, engaging hosts I have ever seen on UA-cam. Please keep doing what you're doing. Sorry for judging a book by its cover when I first scrolled past your recommended vids. My bias was completely unfounded. This is amazing content.
It’s crazy to me how people still generalize so much about Americans. In the US we have racism obviously but we aren’t as xenophobic and we don’t judge people from where they’re from.
@@BreathOfDust I'll absolutely cop that criticism on the chin. Sadly the last few years of US culture and politics have left a lot of us baffled and appalled, but it's not fair of me - or anybody - to tar everybody with the same brush. My comment was partly a reminder to myself that I should not judge people by a bandana and a loud voice as that's incredibly narrow-minded of me.
As a laid back Albertan from 🇨🇦 I endorse your comment
Ditto…
I’m doing the same at 1:00 am🤣
you gotta admit, Sonny and shizzy had one of the best chemistry in all of his adventures. Couldn't ask for a better co-host, hope you guys make more vids together!
I feel like the awkward yet blatant flirting takes away from the food journey. esp. knowing that sonny is married. idk it makes me cringe. only reason more people aren't put off by this is bc she's attractive🤷🏽♀

What a brilliant channel! I'm a chef myself, by trade and I have loved this channel for about two or three years now, but it really is going from strength to strength. Well done and thank you for such an entertaining watch.
I love all of your co-hosts; it's impossible to say who my favorite is... but I never stop smiling when I'm watching Shizuka!
