Usually I try to fish during the transition of tides. So if it's gonna be high tide I try to fish it when its transitioning from low to high. so I can fish it as the tide gets higher. ND same thing if it's going down I'll fish it as it transitions from high tide to low. I've had more luck that way.
But what I usually do if I go night fishing is I'll take live bait and just wait untill I see the trouts come out. Then I will cast my line out and try my luck.
I know Gilberts in port Isabel has them and RGV bait masters in Los fresnos does as well. If you're in the Brownsville downtown area you can also get them at southern most wildlife products (SWP) they carry Texas made luers as well
