this is fantastic...8 min vid on how to lube a door...and I was literally in suspense lol. another great video. Thanks Kent. Been watching you over a decade now.
I did this on my W126 a couple years ago. Yeah, some fittings took the grease and some didn't. The ones that did , there was some pretty gross old grease coming out! I'll have to revisit the stubborn fittings after watching this video. Thanks Kent!
A tip from sweden. Sometimes a hot air gun help the penetration oil to soften The old grease and rust to come out. Warm it up but not hot and grease and oil again several Times
Could a penetrant be pumped into the latch first to flush out the hardened grease? It will make a drippy mess, but clearing out as much old grease as possible will allow the new (better) lube to flow. Wiping grease off old Benzes is a religious ritual.😊
I would not recommend that. Too much pressure is required. You would have penetrant spraying back in your face and any getting in there would "slide" by the old grease. You need the pressure of the thick new grease to push the old grease out.
Hey I have a quick question regarding door removal: I want to remove an entire door from my 2002 C320 and I don't want to open up the panel and unscrew this and peel away that etc. Is there any connection point along the wiring harness between the car door and the ECU (if that's where it all connects to - I'm new to cars so forgive me if I seem ignorant :)?

I was about to ask about the W124, but then I got to the end of the video. Looking forward to that video showing what to do on the W124!
one must own one of each imho

Great tip. Thanks for sharing
Much more exciting than watching paint dry. Keep up the great vids Kent!
I am not sure if that is a compliment or not. I guess it depends on what type of paint and how long it takes to dry... :-)
Love the videos, happy new year and thank you again!!!
Long live grease fittings!
Grease is the word have you heard
Great video!
What if…

No, you have to remove the door panel

And the W211 please :)
You will actually see a W211 in the next hinge lube video!
