Thanks this is what I would have done with those pair. But know I bought a pair of rayban outdoorsman, and they hurt me right behind the hears.. how can I manage this?
pretty good video, although i think nail polish over the screw might make it difficulty to get a screw driver back in there. Rather, some loctite blue would be a little more sensible
Depending if they are a normal hinge screw, you can use the corner of a table to rest the hinge on for a firmer hold to help tighten the screw. Sometimes the screws have just had it and a simple replacement can do the trick. Otherwise, you can fully remove the screw and reinstall with nail polish. Good luck, Lainie - Sunglass Fix
Hi Steve, the video shows how to adjust your frames at home, but if want them professionally adjusted, you can ask your local optometrist (who has a heating machine specifically for glasses) to make some frame adjustments. It is usually only a minor charge and takes 5 minutes.
You can adjust person. I work at sunglass hut and we do them all the time. But we don't bend the legs in the way he does that's actually bad and can give you headaches. You're supposed to biend the legs/arms( what ever term you use ) downward kind of curving them around your ears. If they are really wide then they warn the bridge of it and curve the frame of the glasses.
+Amanda Ortiz Do you know if Sunglass Hut can do adjustments even though I didn't buy from them? I tried getting mine adjusted from the place I bought many times, but it still doesn't fit.
Hello @Ermvcorleone3069, If you have a pair of folding wayfarers like the RB4105 version the same methods will work. However, you won't be able to do much work on the nose bridge, and I suggest you avoid putting pressure too close to the arm hinges as this area is fragile and potentially a breakpoint.
Hi! After u finnish adjusting it, can u adjust it back to its original position? or once u adjust it then u can't change it back?? I'm talking about the frame that you hit with a hair drier. thanks..
hey guys.. so i bought a pair of sunglasses for my girlfriend and the frame is really tight to the point they are tough to open in order to wear.. are there any quick fixes around this issue?
+Michael Patterson Hi Michael, if you can see your hinge screws, then loosen the screws a tiny bit and it will make all the difference. If you can't see any screws, put a drop of oil on the hinges and it will help make them move a bit easier. Enjoy!
It really depends on the frames and what material the lenses are made out of, a lot of older Ray-Ban's have glass lenses which are more difficult to remove. This is where heating up the frames can help with the uninstallation. Most sunglass lenses are easily uninstalled.
Some types of plastic, especially the thicker it is, can kind of revert back to it's original curvature and you might have to do it several times, esp if doing it at home with a hair dryer and when working with the bridge like he did in the 2nd adjustment when he popped the lenses out. The temples usually stay in shape much better.
Just now received Ray Ban Liteforce RB4213 and unfortunately they are a bit wide to my face. They are made from high end durable and flexible plastic. I have tried heating them and bending, but even following all the procedures with hot water or hair drier, they will return to the previous shape. Is there any way I could bend the bridge to make them narrower or bend legs? Thank you.
Hi Oskars, thanks for your query. We have ran some tests ourselves and asked a few optometrists, but we have not been able to find a method of reshaping the newer thermoplastic frames. You could try putting ear socks (sleeves) on your arms instead, as these would make the frames tighter for you.
I'd like to bring myself in for a fitting with Lainie please. And why is it Aussies all seem like they're happy when the talk? Things to ponder in life.
gahloot I'm from Ga. lived in Perth for 3 years. Many are just really layed back.. we do it here too, if 2 Americans were doing a video like this, they would try to sound upbeat too. There are some unsavory people there as well. Abusive husbands, all sorts of nastiness. They also have the same generic way of speaking like you hear on commercials etc. as we do. Think about McDonalds ads, there is always some super fake upbeat person talking. It annoys the crap out of me. I am an avid ad muter for this reason and others. But the Ozzie way really is very layed back and quite infectious.:)
@@Thesunglassfix thank you for the reply , the ear piece is definitely what’s too tight , my problem is the hard black plastic won’t change its shape at all
@@Gala_tha_Prince You may have to take to a optometrist to have it heated they should be able to help, Or you are welcome to send them in to be adjusted.
Adam Gonzalez its ok. I have a new ass now. And I was just pointing that out because I am a famous movie director that has been captivated by the acting, and I wish to hire them. It will be called "Broken Shades"
Submersed24 I’ve been searching my local Blockbuster Video for this film, as the plot sounds quite intriguing, but have yet to locate it. Any plans on releasing it on iTunes?
We're so sorry to hear this, we hoped to be very clear that it's hot water, not boiling, as yes that can ruin sunglasses if they are not thick plastic.
At 3:02 she blatantly lied. No adjustment was actually made. You could see it coming though. LoL. I will try this method out on my wife's Bans now though. Cheers.
this is OG UA-cam right here.
Gosh darn! I was going to throw away a really cool pair that was falling off my face!!! Good on you!
This is the best UA-cam video I have ever ever seen
it was 11 years ago!!!
Thank you for closed captions!
Only if my glasses were adjust I could read them lol
this worked great for my pair of $4 metal sunglasses that were just way too big on my head! Thanks!
thanks! forgot to return my glasses for re-fit but now i could do it myself!
These guys made up some new lenses for me a while back, Fantastic service !!
Amazing! Didn't know one could snap off lenses so easily. Cool video, guys.
this was awkward asf lmao
yeah it was!
When he popped those lenses out like that my testicles shrunk to the size of rice krispies lol
I did not expect that level of awkwardness
Not really that bad, you are overreacting
It worked! The hair dryer trick! The most useful video I watched in years!
Wonderful that you've got your sunglasses back in action, good ole hairdryer trick usually works everytime! Lainie - SunglassFix

Thanks I used the service before and it’s great
thanks soo much for this mine fit perfectly now done with the hairdryer :)
Awesome Eedensangel, glad you were able to give your shades some new life :)
Very good information, thanks.
Great news Jorge, hope they're now staying on your head! Lainie, The Sunglass Fix
I know this is standard procedure for plastic frames, just seems harsh to do on a pair of $350 glasses. Persol for example.

White Wolf yea go to luxottica's website it will show you all that the places you can go. Any place would help you out anyway
Hey, what about if one side is up higher than the other side? It might be my ears?
Pure chemistry! hahah but seriously, good info
How about the folding ones?

Michael Patterson my raybans 2132's loosened up on there own after a while, after a year now they need a good tighten up.
Thank you, that save my sunglasses. I never though warming the frame. I soaked my wayfarers in hot water works great.
Great news, such a simple fix to get your sunglasses back in action!
Great idea! I gotta do this with my sunglasses.
Awesome Bounzer, great fitting glasses really do feel good :)
Thank you! It works!
Do Ray-Ban lenses just pop in and out that easily?

Because they is so much sunshine in Australia, who wouldn't be happy with that...oh and our amazing beaches are pretty cool too! :)
Lainie Anderson I live in Southern California, and we don't seem like were smiling all the time. But hey your gorgeous, so that makes me smile! :)

It's the intonation in the dialects :)
Are there anyways to make sunglasses looser ?
Hi Jesse, You can lightly unscrew your hinges to get a looser fit, Or if you find the ear piece is what is too tight these can be heated and adjusted.
@@Thesunglassfix thank you for the reply , the ear piece is definitely what’s too tight , my problem is the hard black plastic won’t change its shape at all

Excellent video, thanks!
Thanks!
Awesome, glad we could help.
Im not sure if heating ur sunglasses would be the best idea bcus though, it might ruin and by the time in one month ur sunglass would be loose
that is an.. justin model... not a wayfarer...
Same thing
Found this in 2019, but with my luck I'd prob snap my glasses with the heat trick
Ray ban just need to keep it tight.
:)
So scripted lmfao but thanks for the help!
you're welcome ;)
cant blame us for trying ;)
I don't se how this video would make someone laugh their a$$ of.
Good job guys! I learned a couple things. Thanks

These two are so cute. :-)
DONT PUT THEM IN BOILING WATER TO BEND THEM!! I've just ruined a pair of ray bans doing that
I think I've repaired the damage by rubbing WD40 on it 😅

wth are my lens so damn hard to push in its almost as if the lens and frame were both measured wrong id like to just smash them at this point
hair dryer isn’t hot enough to do that
There's no sound
My mistake. UA-cam was defaulting to mute. Great Tutorial. Many thanks
Those are Ray~Ban Justins not wayfarer 😂😂😂😂
