- Tom Morello, Tim McIlrath, Wayne Kramer, Tom Cabel, and Mike McColgan et al. perform "This Land Is Your Land" in front of the WI State Capitol during the Rally for Wisconsin's Workers in Madison, Wis. on Feb. 21, 2011, in support of public employees whose collective bargaining rights are threatened by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's proposed budget repair bill.
Solidarity from Portugal!
Workers united WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED!
Its nice to see that there are still singers who are concerned not about making money but who try to support the interests of the people
God bless you and people like you that are willing to stand up for your rights
I was there! Thanks Tom.
The workers of Canada are with you. In the end we are all just common people trying to eke out a living - we give all we can - we don't have any more to give. We want to move forwards not backwards.... in solidarity
Workers of the wold, unite!
Solidarity from Russia!
One of the most important events of my life!
All week long I've been saying we need Tom Morello, and like superman he appears.
Thank you Tom.
BTW, Rise Against is an awesome band.
I stand in solidarity with WI, Oh, Ill, and all the other states that are fighting this freedom killing tactic of the republican party. Never give up, never give in. From NY.

This made me choke up so much. Amazing at what we've accomplished the past week.
The IDEA will never die.
I used to be distraught because my generation did not have a proper successor to Woody Guthrie. I am confident to say that we have located him. He is Tom Morello.
Solidarity
We are all going to have to rise up like the Egyptians and fight for our freedom against the corrupt goverments and criminal banking oligarchs.

@moofasa1211 Yes I know the bands name is Rage Against the Machine, I've been a fan since the first album and have them all... along with the Night Watchman and Street Sweeper Social club, and even Audioslave (rage's band members).
I said RISE AGAINST, because the lead singer of RISE AGAINST, showed up also with TOM :) Another great band, and a great surprise.
solidarity forever! ps that guy's green coat is so awesome
@ichbingott49 I agree- this song, and this version especially, makes me cry. Oh, and they are saying "kill the bill" rather than "- the pill." They're referring to the anti-labor bill the governor was cramming down the throats of Wisconsinites.
Inspired in Australia. Keep going and never settle for a circuit breaking, momentum killing shit offer from Walker and co. They will try one on soon and they will try to steal your momentum. #SolidarityWorldWide
This song is so important always but now in 2025!!!
I leaned in church that Arlo Guthrie barred his father's song to be printed in the Unitarian hymnal. Outrageous. Arlo is a big libertarian Ron Paul fan. Arlo used to be cool, but Republican propaganda killed all his brain cells.
Every worker should be unionized,
Good luck from myself in Northern Ireland.
no matter how much time passes, public sector union tears are still delicious.
Woody Guthrie is smiling on us!
philgarlic, thanks for posting!
And yes, that *is* Brother Wayne Kramer of the legendary MC5 who started fighting the fight before Tom was even in kindergarten. Very cool to see the commitment spanning the generations in this way.
Wayne is featured in this performance of 'Kick Out The Jams' done for the benefit of the workers in WI:

and he has played with RATM (amongst others) as a guest guitarist and continues to score music for TV and films.

@itwasntme4657 Idiots ? Singing a True American Song written by a True Hero of Folk Music who seen the divide between Rich & Poor and sang about it
Scott Walker is finally gone
@demmmmm1 I guess people were too busy to vote since we had a democratic president.... But besides Madison, WI is mainly republican
