It really does sound the same as my old Juno-6. I will always regret selling that baby. She was sweet, but I don't miss carrying her up 3 flights of stairs to gig.
I would say, it sounds like a Juno-6/60, but not the same. I also own a Juno-60 which I played live alot, and I can just hear the difference. I didn´t mind carrying it, the big form was great live and just right.
I also wrote a test comparison article for Amazona.de by the way.. it´s good, and I would also like to have a Ju-06A, it´s a nice and fun little box... but, not the same ;)

Yes, you have to replace one of the 64 presets.
Haha the original presets are no loss IMO!
Just got the 6a. Question- Would these patches overwrite the onboard patches or can it store user made patches separately? Thanks.
The onboard patches will be overwrited, there are no user banks as on the SE-02.

I love the patches and I ordered them and downloaded them onto my JU06A. However, there's quite a few patches (mostly the string patches) that are causing a cracking/popping sound when trying to play them through my audio interface. Would you have any idea what this might be? It doesn't make the popping/cracking sound when I'm playing the 106 patches (the factory presets). Thank you.
Actually I think I may have just fixed it. I turned the gain up on my interface and turn the volume on the Ju06A down and it got rid of the sound. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for the patches!
Hi! Sorry for my very delayed reply! I'm glad you fixed it! Yes, it's a game of balancing the inputs/outputs especially when comes about the Boutiques. And especially if there's a VCA slider involved in the equation!

Thanks, yes, it overwrites the factory patches.

@@AlbaEcstasy I’m thinking about getting your patches too, they convince me more than the original ones, especially these Vangelis sounding types. But can I restore the factory patches afterwards, in case I’ll ever want to resell it later?
@@nuclearferrets yes you are able to save the original patches to a computer and replace with new patches. If you want to put the original patches back in the synth then you can place them back into the synth by connecting to the computer through USB

These sound crazy cool. But should I be worried about over righting the factory presets? Can I restore them if I want to?
Thanks! You can go back any time to the factory state or you can backup/restore patches as described in the user's manual.
How do you load the sounds into the module? Obviously by MIDI but there has to be some software that goes between the interface and the module. Is there a librarian of sorts that comes with the sound files? Does this change the stock sequencer patches and stored chord memory or just alter the sounds? Is it both the 60 and the 106 sounds that get replaced?
great question, did you find out how to load the sound samples / patches?
When you connect the JU-06a to your computer via USB, it shows up as a drive. Then you can either drag your patches from your computer to the JU-06a, or drag patches from your JU-06a to your computer to back them up.
How do you get that kind of grittiness at 8:24?

Do you own any other BOUTIQUEs.? I like the SE02 and the D05 for some silly reason.! That sounds amazing, will suit its brother SH01A.
These patches can be purchased from the link you can find on videos description. You can also find on my website patches for the SH-01A, SE-02, JP-08, JX-03 from the Boutique series.

Thanks! No, as much as I had time to test this feature, it just alter the sequence in a strange way, creating kind of a variation.

Thanks. If you’re having chords per step, yes.
But you can play arpeggios of 6 (single) notes for example?
@@Spelkens sure, as the sequencer alows you to playing 16 notes one by one, you can press as many keys you want in arp mode.

Hi! Can you control this roland ju06 with the roland gaia sh01 via midi and use the gaia as the controller? Thanks
I never tried but it should work. Roland’s CC parameters are the same I think.

Are these compatible with the JU06?
No, they are for the JUNO-60 emulation, present only on JU-06A.
There’s a lot of disappointment in it’s voice architecture, why not appreciate it for what it is?
When the Juno 6/60 came out, the complaint was that it didn't sound like a Jupiter.. When the 106 came out, some complained it didn't sound the same as the 60...
