I would love to see some improved or new stuff from Fisher/Teknetics like a new Metal Detector. The old ones are great but some features are missing
I imported mine when it was quite new about 2 years ago and after a couple of months it started to give false signals all the time or become very unstable while locating an object. Today you can tip the floor anywhere you want and it will give you false signals. A few months later I found reports of other users experiencing the same problems and that it got fixed with a later revision. Some users also reported that it might be a problem with the kind of Alkaline batteries being used where more expensive batteries seemed to fit better than cheaper ones and that they didn't experience any problems after switching to high quality batteries. So... as someone who imported the pinpointer when it was new: What can I do to find out if my pinpointer is broken or if there is an easy fix for a not so obvious problem? Do you suggest a certain brand of batteries which turned out to work best with the unit? How to find out if it's a problem with the hardware itself? WHEN it works fine I absolutely love this awesome pinpointer. But most of the time it just goes off for no reason and makes locating an item in a hole harder than just using the default pinpointer function of my detector - and that's definitely not what I got the F-Pulse for. Seriously - please help me find it awesome again! I really want to!
Send it back. I did and they sent me a new one, Problem solved, working perfect after more than 2 years!
@@VMFlagg The thing is I don't live in the USA but I imported it via amazon from an American seller. Sending it back after two years woulf be complicated there (especially since I used it a lot) and sending it to Fisher might cost a little fortune - which could be spent on buying an entirely new unit. If there's a chance for me to check the unit for mistakes by myself it would be easier to evaluate if it makes sense to send it in or not.
