People who cannot play this mod because it has not as good graphics as D2R are the same who are stuck in a toxic relationship with a good looking partner.
I disagree, i have played every single Fire Emblem game going back to 1990 just fine because its turn based and older graphics doesnt really impact gameplay, but the clarity level difference is wild. I would totally play this if it had D2R graphics but this looks fucking terrible im sad to say, its very hard to read whats going on on-screen for an unexperienced player and it looks very unappealing because of that. If you're used to it of course you wouldnt mind it lol
It's not really the graphics for me, it's sort of the clunkiness of the UI and intuitiveness of most of the features in the game. I haven't tried this mod though, just talking about D2 in general.
Without getting new players from D2R or other ARPGs, the mod we love will slowly wither to dust. This video is very important for the long term health of PD2. Great work!
inevitably most games will dwindle out. rs classic was a good example of that. rsrevolution is still doing its thing just on a minor scale. D2R has room to develop, its not like theyve given up on it, it still brings in big money for Blizz. Not like its at its final stages and is never gonna get new implements. But new players come to it for the graphics and old players will come to P2 for the nostalgia and expansive nature. Best wishes for everyone playing either.
I've started to play PD2 like a week ago or something but... man, this is exciting. This is so fresh. I never had so much fun playing any mod or D2R since classic D2 (and it was 20 years ago when there is was not many ARPGs). I really appreciate what developers make in PD2, it doesn't feel like a mod, because everything added in game is very natural and perfect. For any fan of classic D2, just try PD2. I promise you, you'll find something for yourself.
One of the most exciting parts for me in PD2 is that I can just pick any class, any skill and go with it. See how far I can manage, farm some gear solo, trade things that I don't need, get to the early maps, get more gear and corrupt some stuff, start blasting maps and so on and on. The sense and feel of progression is much better here, and that works for nearly any skill build in the game. Glad to see outbursts of love for PD2. Did it myself and happy to support here.
Yeah i really dislike that. In Diablo 2 you really do feel the struggle the moment you start a character. Monsters will hit you HARD. Running drops your def to 0 so it's very important to WALK instead of run off when surrounded by large groups of enemies, these are small tactical details that the original Diablo 2 has that PD2 developers seem to be clueless about. Melee splash is another ridiculous thing added in my opinion when there are systems in the game to balance that, but again the devs are pretty clueless about what is quality of life or an easy casual mode. I get it that people like easier games and prefer it when they don't have much time, but i much rather the slow burn of Diablo 2 with simply the endgame map system of PD2 than all these unwelcoming changes. D2R with PD2 map system would be a dream come true.
@xzxxx-km4vy you are wrong about splash damage. Splash damage is there to balance between the melee and magic class. Why would anyone make a melee class if they can cast mindblast that wipes 6 guys at once.😂

I felt the same - but honestly, after awhile you get used to and come to appreciate it. It's still high resolution in PD2 at least. And the colors are much more vibrant in PD2 than D2r - try looking at a purple or green armor in your D2R stash, it's hard to even tell. I go back every D2R season and not having: Charm inventory, keyboard shortcuts, Melee splash, and having such a rough start as barb each time, it's so much better quality of life in PD2.

My only complaint is I want controller support. I always hated using mouse and keyboard. Especially as a Diablo 1 PlayStation veteran. Ressurected made me fall in love with controller play. PD2 is flawless though. Amazing community, stackable runes and gems, trading is so much better, endgame content, build variety. It was so well done. I fell in love with poison Javazon.

I've only been able to play 3 seasons, 2 HC and RN season 9 SC just because gaming time is limited. But all 3 times have been by far the best D2 experience I've ever had, from a guy who used to go to a PC center to do chaos/baals with the boys in the early 2000s

This sounds all cool and good, but after playing d2r with its new graphics, there is just no way back for me because lets be honest, the graphics of d2 haven't aged well. If pd2 implements modern graphics, i would instantly switch over.
@@d2rmodder710 to be honest, I haven't contributed anything to the mod, and been playing since season 1. I would have already donated but I'm salty that senpai kept banning my bot... So now I'm playing legit, but would love to have a bot running at night so I can wake up to some decent loot.

No season resets is not why we play Diablo, In Fact most people like me and my group of friends didnt even have internet, so seasons was not even i thing, i played diablo 1 back in 1996 i was 6 years old, and i played D2 when it came out also, it wasnt until LOD/2001-2 is when schools started to get internet, everyone was still playing N64, no one knew what internet was, i played Starcraft warcraft orc vs humans, and Diablo 1 and 2 on Lan when i had friends bring there computers over and we had sleep overs, Diablo is not about Seasons at all, because me and none of my group of friends like Seasons at all, when we started to play D2 LOD Online, it wasnt until patch 1.08 when they added Uber bosses to ladder only at the time, was when people gave seasons a chance, but still hated season wipes it ruins the game, the whole point of Seasons in D2 was to remove all the duped SOJ's because everyone use to have SOJ's that just randomly Vanished, also im one of the Rare Diablo players, because I was there when the Weapon swap bug worked in D2 LOD, and u could put 2 windforce bows on a druid, and just melt everything, or put 2 twohanded weapons on any class
I would love to play PD2 or even medianxl, but these old wrists just can't handle point-n-click anymore, must have controller support. I think D2 still speaks mostly to the people who grew up with the game, now older, can't play like they used to.
With quality of life changes pd2 has as well as maps dungeons and new Ubers, it’s better than R2-D2 in my opinion. Old graphics have their charm over new ones
The thing that turned me off of PD2 was the fact that with every season all your progress is DELETED. I dont play ladder and this is just unacceptable to me.
dont know that much about grim dawn though but i can tell a few things anout Diablo 2 that surely are gonna make u consider it: -Random map generation -High quantity of maps, items and skills as well as 7 (IIRC) classes -Everytime you enter you are gonna find some different adventure -Way too much mods if u wanna try (i recommend it) --There are thousands of hours in the game to pour. wont continue because i would be all night in here
@@user82a91p Im a huge diablo 2 fan, I wasnt talking about Grim Dawn at all. I was talking about PD2. I put hundreds of hours into the first season and they deleted all characters. Killed it for me forever.
@@Guzbug911 bruh for PD2 just dont to dit. I think a big part of it as well is there has always been a huge competitive community that played d2 and pvp is also important if you want to just pve I agree this endgame is better. But there are also better pve games.
I'm loving this mod, but is there a way to remove the texture filtering? Switching to GDI renderer seems to turn it off, but opengl seems smoother. Any ideas?
My issue with pd2 is that I don't get to keep my progress after the season ends I must start over all over again I do like to keep my characters from the previous ladder seasons but I understand why they don't do that
maybe you missed something my friend, from season 5 i believe, your character's are keep in the non season and you can play them offseason or start the new season :)
@@dimitardimov3936 I played season 1 and 2 and then stopped so I was unaware they added this, not having my characters turned me off from what is the best iteration of D2
Let's also say that the community is made of gold. Trading on the Discord is a joy and the rules removes a huge chunk of the toxicity that plagues the Blizzard servers.
The mod is great. The fact your characters get wiped every season is what turns people away. In a game with limited content your character is essentially the end reward. However they have done amazing things with the game and this mod. I played the first 2 seasons and I'm definitely thinking about giving another PD2 season a try
The usual items, but with a good corruption, like 1+ all skill or 3 sockets mostly. It really depends on what build you are playing. We have a trading site in Pd2 where you can offer your stuff.
I like to play on hardcore mode and only played on release, the lag was insane but i guess that was because it was new the mod. Lister killed my amazon about 10 meters away from him while doing solo baalruns on hell because maps were so hard for me because my gear, after that i went back to normal D2 (D2R was not on sale yet if i remember well) and never tried it again I hope that lags and dsyncs are a lot less common now. Maybe i try it again one day. I guess that a lot changed from pre season 1 to season 8.
on the day that blizzard finally doesnt care about d2r anymore and they make no money off it and "let" people make private servers and theres a project d2r, you can bet everyones gona go there. D2r with no bots would be something very special.

I love PD2, but I just can't bring myself to play it knowing I lose all my characters at the end of every season. If it wasn't that way, I probably would come back. Edit: Just saw @Dimitar Dimov comment saying it's not this way anymore... looks like I'm coming back.
The thing about melee splash and the removal of the mechanic of defense dropping to 0 when running and the whole game being mind numbing easy until you hit hell which is a massive difficulty difference are right on point, it's my only 3 biggest complaints about this mod, it really could be perfect if the dev was more true to the original game
People on this server are super nice, too! I was given 5 free HR and a bunch of other good shit today! Everytime I'm on there ppl give me stuff if I need it. And they just say, pay it forward.
This would be valid if Blizzard hasn't made it both nearly impossible to find D2 on the store and also make sure it is NEVER discounted so that you can get D2R and D3 complete for cheaper. I heard about this but sorry I'm not paying full god damn price for a game that came out when I was 8 years old.
things i dont like in d2 the int stat not having side quests for unlocking cube recipes needing to tab out just to research recipes and secrets refilling arrows + throwables Enigma needing gems to upgrade runes Immunity mobs melee in early game misses 9/10 hits stamina amour + evasion = 0 when you move
If only there was a way to convert Median XL to D2R. That would be a dream to the modding community but I know it wont happen. Laz attempted to make a vanilla mod then suddenly gave up on it. I've heard D2R lacks coding to even start a decent mod. I might just give Remodded a shot. It would be the closest thing it gets to Median. But Median was just pure brillant.
I came from Diablo 4, Poe, and also played a little bit of d2r and this mod is absolutely AMAZING. I would love to see this on d2r for the graphics update but I have absolutely been having a BLAST playing this!
I’m just learning about PD2 and would love to give it a try on my Steam Deck but I’m guessing that wont work based on this comment? Or maybe Steam Input makes it just work… hmm
@@andrhamm pd2 is a modded version of the original game. The original game isn’t through steam. So it’s pc only I believe.
I've only been able to play 3 seasons, 2 HC and RN season 9 SC just because gaming time is limited. But all 3 times have been by far the best D2 experience I've ever had, from a guy who used to go to a PC center to do chaos/baals with the boys in the early 2000s
I was wondering when u would be starting to create new content again :D Great Job! Now that I am intersted in pd2... How do I start s6 again...?
edit: I'm glad u managed to put a rant about throwbarb into the vid. Btw. Have u noticed that poison necros actually have a way better clear speed in endgame? :D
I hop back and forth between project D2 and D2 median XL. Both are very good mods. Love the communities.
Quality of life and community are by far my favorites of this list. Great overview
I’ve said since the beginning of d2r they should of gotten ahold of senpai for consultation they balanced everything so good
Been playing d2 on and off for a few years, and pd2 was such a game changer. Still haven’t made it through hell yet. But still amazing game.
Great video! The only issue is the garbage graphics.... If they could mod D2R with the same thing... 😲😲
Due to my illness I can only play controller, so I'm out but I love to hear the mods for Diablo 2 are still developed!
its possible to play with a controller with Xpadder x) can seem a little hard to get used to but its doable :)
This sounds all cool and good, but after playing d2r with its new graphics, there is just no way back for me because lets be honest, the graphics of d2 haven't aged well. If pd2 implements modern graphics, i would instantly switch over.
Pd2 is incredible. I played the entire season 5. Still playing 🤣
Can't wait till season 6!
@@d2rmodder710 to be honest, I haven't contributed anything to the mod, and been playing since season 1.
I would have already donated but I'm salty that senpai kept banning my bot... So now I'm playing legit, but would love to have a bot running at night so I can wake up to some decent loot.
@@nspnutritionsportsperforma6804 I hope you keep getting banned because ruining the d2 economy with bots is the reason to quit D2. I f you want the end game gear with doing nothing don't ruin other people experiance and the economy of online play just use Plugy and get all the gear you want do whatever you want. Your satisfaction level is the same but you don't ruin other people's drop by flooding the market with your bot runes/drops
@@radoslavdragnev8797 lf you read my comment, I said I am playing legit. I used to bot in older seasons. How does it ruin the economy? If anything it helps the economy, making more items available and lowering the price so that people can actually afford them...
@@nspnutritionsportsperforma6804 your bot is making my time invested in d2 not relevant , because by lowering the price of items and runes you aren't making them more affordable you are making non bots grind useless and inefficient thus ruining the whole point of arpg which is the rush and excitement you get after a insane drop. When d2 starts being flooded with bots irs no use playing because no matter what I get I know its dirty cheap because of you and other people like you cheating and thinking its ok
@@radoslavdragnev8797 just play plugy and get all the gear you want and do whatever you want if you want your items to feel more valuable.
We play online so that we can trade and get items we probably wouldn't be able to get on our own. Bots make that alot easier... You know how it feels towards the end of season when not many people are playing and you struggle to find any items with good corruptions? Imagine zero bots, market will be rubbish.
Watch next season since they have updated their security. Much less people Botting now, I guarantee you it will be worse, and will die off quicker due to alot less items being available even at the start of the season. Bots help the economy, you will see 👍
You won't regret it!
Do you have to start over after every seasons end? Or do you get to keep your character and gear and they get switched to a non ladder in pd2
It gets switched to non ladder
Getting CD key is the issue. And some computers can’t run D2 vanilla for over spec issues.
Gonna give it a shot. Thank you for the video.
30 something millennial. Gonna try this soon. Thanks for the video.
With quality of life changes pd2 has as well as maps dungeons and new Ubers, it’s better than R2-D2 in my opinion. Old graphics have their charm over new ones
I think they should just add Project Diablo 2 type mapping endgame to the actual D2R. Also the skill revamps are amazing in PD2
I firmly stand behind this statement.
The thing that turned me off of PD2 was the fact that with every season all your progress is DELETED. I dont play ladder and this is just unacceptable to me.
dont know that much about grim dawn though but i can tell a few things anout Diablo 2 that surely are gonna make u consider it:
-Random map generation
-High quantity of maps, items and skills as well as 7 (IIRC) classes
-Everytime you enter you are gonna find some different adventure
-Way too much mods if u wanna try (i recommend it)
--There are thousands of hours in the game to pour.
wont continue because i would be all night in here
@@user82a91p Im a huge diablo 2 fan, I wasnt talking about Grim Dawn at all. I was talking about PD2. I put hundreds of hours into the first season and they deleted all characters. Killed it for me forever.
@@Guzbug911 bruh for PD2 just dont to dit. My first try some days ago went something like this:
-Start of whit paladin (not even focusing on build) but even whit a simple sword i would pee every enemie i see.
-error c00005 everywhere (not happening whit MedianXL nor vanilla d2)
-My stash items dissappeared (had two world stones and a few good items though it wasnt that much incredible).
Any ideas?
I don't - check the discord
I played the first 2 seasons and I'm definitely thinking about giving another PD2 season a try
non-ladder is now active. characters come back just as non-ladder like regular LOD
@@Lawlsuit Good to know. I'll definitely be looking into playing again
1:52 why do you have 120% crushing blow? Needed the gloves but you are 5% short without something else?
Im new to diablo im playing it now what is good char?
How’s the trading? What items hold value?
The usual items, but with a good corruption, like 1+ all skill or 3 sockets mostly. It really depends on what build you are playing. We have a trading site in Pd2 where you can offer your stuff.
Mod is amazing!!! Please play next season everyone! Starts in a couple weeks.
I was trying to figure out what I wanted to try next playing the beelzebub mod atm so I might hit this up after I kill Diablo.
can you tell me, please, what loot filter do u use? thanks
the day they can use graphics like d2r ill be sure to jump on over. After playing with these updated graphics i can never go back now :(
I like to play on hardcore mode and only played on release, the lag was insane but i guess that was because it was new the mod.
If only PD2 seasons started as you say in between D2R seasons. But that hasn't been the case lately, right?
I play both because they are both completely different games but are both still masterpieces.
begun pd2 after get disappointed by d2r. and.... i am enjoying diablo 2 as never before. and i was playing it from the begining. great, great mod. never think i´ll go back to d2r
So do I have to buy another copy of D2 original to use this? Might be a dumb question.
I love PD2, but I just can't bring myself to play it knowing I lose all my characters at the end of every season. If it wasn't that way, I probably would come back.
Edit: Just saw @Dimitar Dimov comment saying it's not this way anymore... looks like I'm coming back.
Can you start mapping in normal? or doesn't have to be hell? I play a lot of d2r and looking to try this out.
maps are in hell only. its endgame content
thanks boss gonaa check it out rn
The thing about melee splash and the removal of the mechanic of defense dropping to 0 when running and the whole game being mind numbing easy until you hit hell which is a massive difficulty difference are right on point, it's my only 3 biggest complaints about this mod, it really could be perfect if the dev was more true to the original game
Gotta be scary loving a game that not many people play.
How would you compare this to sp experience mod of d2r? Looks like same quality of life features
D2r has no endgame, here there’s reasons to chase gg items bc the content is much more difficult
Pixel art will always be better. Wish they would have remastered the pixel art and not made the females old men. D1 Beelzebub is also a badass mod
People on this server are super nice, too! I was given 5 free HR and a bunch of other good shit today! Everytime I'm on there ppl give me stuff if I need it. And they just say, pay it forward.
Have you ever played path of exile?
the only reason d2r players are not playing pd2 is the graphics ....
is it possible in the future to have pd2 with d2r graphics ?
Probably not. Blizzard wont allow it.
This would be valid if Blizzard hasn't made it both nearly impossible to find D2 on the store and also make sure it is NEVER discounted so that you can get D2R and D3 complete for cheaper. I heard about this but sorry I'm not paying full god damn price for a game that came out when I was 8 years old.
things i dont like in d2
the int stat
not having side quests for unlocking cube recipes
needing to tab out just to research recipes and secrets
refilling arrows + throwables
Enigma
needing gems to upgrade runes
Immunity mobs
melee in early game misses 9/10 hits
stamina
amour + evasion = 0 when you move
I will wait for d2r version someday ™
If only there was a way to convert Median XL to D2R. That would be a dream to the modding community but I know it wont happen. Laz attempted to make a vanilla mod then suddenly gave up on it. I've heard D2R lacks coding to even start a decent mod. I might just give Remodded a shot. It would be the closest thing it gets to Median. But Median was just pure brillant.
I came from Diablo 4, Poe, and also played a little bit of d2r and this mod is absolutely AMAZING. I would love to see this on d2r for the graphics update but I have absolutely been having a BLAST playing this! Amazing content man I haven’t made it to the end game yet but I would love to see classes being able to use other classes skills from items to add a little bit of freedom like Poe. But yes amazing game!
for some reason when i download pd2 it says its not a trusted software and wont let me open it
do your character stay for ever or delete after 60 day ?
chars don't expire
Avid pd2 player here, played every season and have done ubers a few times. Your perceived demographic is 99 percent accurate. Forgot to account for the one Gen z male player (ME)
Reason #1. Summon Zon
2:07 Why doesn’t the "Winged Axe" have any durability? Wouldn’t that essentially make it an "Indestructible” item?
PD2 throw items/arrows do not have quantity, so yes you want ethereal throw items always
since i have played pd2 its hard to get back to the og farm spots.... endgame is so much better here and i love blasting maps
How do you get pd2?
people who play a game for the graphics will never understand the value of project diablo
Seems interesting... Im sure since i try, i will like :)
Will they make a project diablo 2 resurrected?
PD2 is great, but they’ve made so many changes and their aren’t many up to date guides for new players to use. For example I played a WC barb last season and the only WC build guide is from season 1.
@Arkryder 52 I’m a casual on PD2 I’m sure I wasn’t even playing WC barb correct lol it was solid during maps though once I got it going.
@Arkryder 52 haha that is true.
Why do you need a guide? Just play
@@jaredmcclure1730 because I don’t have the free time to figure out all the changes what/how they work together.
Its the graphics for me tbh. Maybe if I hadn’t played d2r id have given pd2 a go.
But i just cant go back to these graphics.
Hopefully near future we would get pd2 with d2r graphics.
