    It has been 13 months since I have had my 2004 Infiniti QX56. I have paid over $1,100.00 in repairs but the Beauty & the Beast is running great. That’s what I call my Infiniti QX56. Only because women call it a beauty and some men call it a beast when it’s driving toward you lol. So I call her my, Beauty & the beast. Anyway, I just pray God blessed her to go 3 to 4 more years.
    My 1st review I said I made a horrible mistake in buying it. My only mistake was the dealership I purchased it from. They could have fixed the minor repairs before selling it. Especially for what I paid them for her.
    Hope everyone is enjoying their Infiniti and pray we all get several more years out of the Infiniti QX56.

    I own a 2004 Infiniti QX56 with 211,000 miles that is still going strong. This SUV has pulled my boat for thousands of miles with no issues. The truck has never left me stranded and I would highly recommend it because the engine and transmission is bullet proof. Now, the only issues I had was of course a hairline crack in the left exhaust manifold which occasionally triggers the service engine light, it burns about a quart of oil every thousand miles, the fuel gauge was replaced recently, so these are minor issues for a vehicle that runs great and starts every time. Oh, also I have had an intermittent wood pecker sound from the dashboard caused from the the AC unit, which bugs my wife LOL. I will definitely keep this truck for at least three to five more years and hopefully get over 300,000 mile on it.

      Good to hear this as I just inherited my dad's 2005 with 101K miles on it. I had my uncle mechanic check it out before driving it 800 miles home. I seem to have just a couple minor (I hope) issues such as AC not working correctly and need new head light bulbs (I hope that the only problem.) Besides being a gas guzzler it will work well as my work vehicle for my home inspection business.

      You will love this vehicle, Derek. With just regular oil changes, flushing the radiator fluid and changing the transmission fluid every 60,000 miles, you should enjoy this SUV for many years. Good luck.

      The sound you are hearing is a blend door actuator. The main issues is the clock spring, fuel gauge cluster, seal behind the oil sending unit and exhaust manifolds do crack and leak. I have over 200k miles on mines and I would gladly buy it again. Not many SUVs on the road are as reliable. I'm an automotive technician so I can day that with experience.

      @@brucetec6597 Hi Bruce, you just described perfectly every issue that I have with the truck.
      It is funny that we have the same problems, but like you stated, I would buy this truck again (or Nissan Armada ). Now, I have about 216,000 miles and still going strong. The only thing that I do now is put about a quart of oil every six to eight weeks due to the oil leak.

    • @brucetec6597
      @brucetec6597 2 роки тому +4

      @@ivannadler1789 lol. Look behind the oil filter there is a the sending unit that usually leaks. It's not the whole unit just the o ring in the back of it. Probably 7 to 8 dollars for it. The other usual leaks are the valve cover gaskets.

    The 04-10 QX56 and 04-15 armada are most reliable of all. The 11+ qx56 and 17+ armada are the most unreliable. These suvs have gone passed the 300k mile mark. With proper maintenance these suvs will last a lifetime. The oil burning issue I’ve never heard of. The timing chain issue I’ve never heard of, thats only the VK45 engine. The common issues with these are transmission hoses can leak and burst, blend door actuators go bad, dash bezels crack. Exhaust manifolds crack, Air ride issues, instrument cluster issues, door seal leaks, front pinion seal can leak 4x4 only. And this is on high mileage ones. But all that can be prevented with proper maintance. these suvs come with a solid engine and drivetrain. I wouldnt be too worried on reliability on these. How I know I own a 2005 titan and 2006 qx56 with high miles and are the most reliable suv and truck I’ve ever owned.

    My 2006 has 150k miles. A driveshaft u joint was replaced years ago. Has the woodpecker in the dash regularly. Just mildly annoying. The rear lift gate glass hinge broke, replaced. Liftgate motor came loose, repaired. No other significant problems, knock on wood. Gets 12 mpg... Still really like it. Great for towing the boat.

    I love my qx56 I’ve put 233000 miles on it. It doesn’t burn a drop of oil. I recently replaced the transmission at around 230,000 miles. I have towed a heavy 7500# rv for thousands of miles with it. I’ve thought about buying something different, but it will be hard to beat the ‘08 qx56! Good luck with yours.

    Thank you for all the information you have given. Sounds like I made a horrible mistake in buying my QX56. After 3 months of having it, I paid over $600 to have it repaired for two different things. And today it breaks down on me AGAIN. This time it does not want to go forward or reverse. It starts and sounds normal until I push down on the gas to go. It’s almost like I have it in park and push all the way down on the gas and it just sits there like I’m trying to burn rubber. I have no mechanic that I can go to that will be honest with the repair cost. I got charged $450 for a new belt and a new alternator, plus labor. Another mechanic told me that the repair shop charged me way to much. It sucks that people can be so dishonest.
    Thank you again for sharing.

    My 2011 loaded QX56 needed both cats/exhaust manifold replaced the day after I bought it. Dealer fixed for $500. Next it burned so much oil that it clogged the cats. (warranty doesn't cover cats) Also had to replace an engine that threw 2 rods due to no oil in the crankcase. Oil pressure gauge never registered low oil and no warning light. That happened while towing a 4500 lb RV in the middle of nowhere. Next engine has 85K miles on it and is throwing oil into the cats again. This is not a bullet proof motor. Ring seals go fast. The car rides like a dream and handles like a sports car in the mountains. 0-60 is a timed 6.01 with a full tank and 2 adults. No one with any sense seems willing to pull out in front of this beast. If they could only build a reliable motor it would be great.

So I asked him to be honest with me, and tell me what's wrong with it! He said nothing until yesterday. He said the check engine light came on, and he's got the trouble code and it's the catalytic converter so he said that he'll get it fix before I buy it in January 2022. I used to work on cars, but not foreign ones!! He wants $2800 for it. The truck is really clean, inside and out, but should I take a chance and buy it? Please advise!!😉

    You are reciting a written verbal which has little or nothing to do with this particular model line or year of manufacture. Nothing you state in the 4:47 (which sounds just like another on youtube) rehearsal has to do with actual, nominal or abusive use of the vehicle or the conditions under-which it is used and driven. This is a great ploy to get viewers but coming from an owner who has a 2010 QX56 with 279,873 miles on it, you are full of crap and yes, there is maintenance to be done but, my particular year is when Infiniti had a partnership with Mercedes to make their drive train and transmission and there has been ZERO maintenance outside of regularly scheduled and no failure. Please get rid of the MasterDarsPro crap on the QX56 and try to make money by some other way; stop misleading people. If I were to buy a QX56 off a spammer like you, I would expect all the things you mention to go wrong.....
