Wes, Thank You for all the information you've given! I started my DM Agency in DEC. 2019. I have been able to rank my clients GMB & Websites on the first page of Google, and keep them there for about a year now! They started with no online visibility. I used your video training and had them move to the first page in less than 3 months! To all that need a confirmation ... Yes! Wes knows what it takes to rank on Google! Thanks Wes, keep up the good work! 😃
Wow. I need to do local SEO right now and this video almost answer many questions on my mind. Thank you so much Wes. Keep sharing value bomb information. 🙂
The location page advise is extremely helpful! Makes perfect sense and answers my wonders regarding the lack of performance for my location pages. Thanks!
Any suggestions if the business category options do not fit a niche business? For example: Our business install and service aquariums at customers businesses and homes, google options include: Aquarium (public display type), Aquarium Stores (we are not a retail location), Pet Services (really things like dog training, poop pick up, groomers). Feel like starting out of the gate on the wrong foot.
Yea, that's frustrating, but remember, your competition is working with the same disadvantage, meaning, there's really no disadvantage. So it sounds like aquarium store might be the CLOSEST fit, and I might use pet services as a secondary.
What about a shoppify online store that has no physical location, and you only sell in one country? should you geotag your website pics on multiple locations of the country, or each pic with different location or what is recommended? thank you!
Hi Wes. Does the Google My Business profile creation also apply to businesses that are only online or is it only for brick & mortar shops? Thanks in advance
I assume you don't really have a physical location where people come in? In that case, either put down the general hours that you work/answer phones/emails, etc. Or if that doesn't even apply, you can skip it, but keep in mind, the less complete your listing is, the lesser chance you have of ranking. So its generally best to put SOMETHING in there even if it isn't exact.
Today I have added up to 8 main categories and then upto 6-7 categories below eache main categories! I add keywords as sub categories which my target audiences are searching is am I right?? Please make correct me by giving some tips, if am wrong, thanks!!!
Hey, can you elaborate on the different pages for different cities? I live in Tampa Bay and do serve all the various cities that entails. Are you suggesting that I make 5 different homepages?? (homepage clearwater, homepage for St. Pete, etc) or do you just mean Optimize the home page for Clearwater, optimize the info page for St. Pete, etc?? Thank you! I just subscribed - these are too helpful
Thx Whitney! You'll want to make location pages for each city + the keyword phrase you wanna rank for. And you basically want to TREAT them like they're homepages - with persuasive text, benefits, etc. Most ppl just treat these pages as afterthoughts but you need to remember this will be the first impression your customers have with your brand... so don't drop the ball on that!
Hi Wes, excellent video - thought you made some great points. I was just wondering how you'd compare the importance of citation-building vs. maintaining well-polished GMB profiles. Would you say that one is more crucial than the other? Thanks.
I am binging all your videos which are awesome! I"m also a new subscriber as a result. I am unable to do any of the things in this video as I've been trying to verify my business for FIVE MONTHS with their postcard and I have yet to receive a postcard. Do you have an work around for this? I cannot find any way to contact google except email and I've also sent them several email requests for help. My hands seem tied with this step of my business.
Glad you liked it! And yeah that usually happens sometimes. You can try contacting their support team and follow up with any of your concerns. It may take some time, but you can do it! Thanks for subbing and welcome to the club! 😊 Be sure to stick around for more helpful tips! 😁
It can. Just anecdotally, ppl do report that their listing got demoted when they no longer had an address to show, even though google denies this. I always recommend showing your address IF you feel comfortable doing so.
Extremely helpful information as always, Wes! The small agency I work at uses Moz Local to maintain consistent directory listings or "citations" as I think you put it. Would you recommend this as a way of making sure our citations on all the different directories that Moz Local pushes information to stay consistent with what GMB shows.
Thanks Dylan! Yea, the thing about citations is that it doesn't really need to be an ongoing effort in most cases. Get as many as you can get, making sure they're as consistent as possible. But you shouldn't need to keep going after it month after month after month. Make sense?
I just love consuming all the content produced by you, why don't you create a whole course on Facebook ad, marketing and sales funnel we would love to join it at any price point.
