THANK YOU Jorjumkel for posting this video. "Danny's All-Star Joint" has been one of my all-time favorite songs EVER! That said, I've never heard it played better than the original album, especially with Tom Scott on sax. I admit, it was pretty shocking to see Rikki these days. She's looks very ... ummmm .... different! And, I was a bit disappointed when the song started out so slow, but they sped it up nicely. I enjoyed hearing and watching this. I just wish Rikki looked better. A lot better.
Was the biggest fan of RLJ so was stoked to hear she was coming to Perth Western Australia in 2010... unfortunately she decided to do her show in chronological order of the album's release... Saw glimpses of her brilliance, but a night of muffed lines, a make-shift backing band and missing albums took the shine off. However, will forever remember her work from the 80's as innovative and in the groove.
I listen to music with my ears not my eyes. That being said I had a huge crush on her when she first came out and she might not look like she did back in 79 but I still love her no matter what!
Sorry, I am a huge huge huge fan, but this seems really bad to me! I have a tape of myself doing this song 25 yrs ago and I am too embarassed to share it with people, because it is bad, and it's much better than this. Fan of RLJ forever, warts and all, whatever she does. She was a massive influence on most female pop singers from the early 80's on, whether they know it or not.
