Hi mr Newton, im now coming to the end of my first summer flying, I don’t have many friends or mentors to learn from so I’d like to take this opportunity to say thankyou , thankyou for taking the time to explain stuff and some pleasant flights too , my goal was to glide & sore kinda as much like yourself as I could , results…, if only there was a camera on my face when my ranger 2400 was was just sitting there like on a chair in the wind , I fly nearly everyday now , tipping the wings as the sun rises is breathtaking, so many thanks 🙏 I owe you a beer Thankyou
Hi Andrew, nice sleek looking plane. Maybe a heavy emphasis on dual rates/expo and travel adjust should take care of the agility element. Apart from that, I like the look of it, like the colour scheme, and very simple design to fix and rebuild in the event of a crash. Definitely a Stik look-a-like.
Hello Andrew, it looks on the vid very much like a "das ugly stick" Would need to look at wing profiles and sizes to see if it was that close. Personally I rather like Ugly sticks :-) Best Wishes - Jn
Reminded me of my Single Channel days...and balsa planes always fly better than foam...Why is your Winter better than my Summer again Mr Newton??...lol...😳😏🇬🇧
Nice one Andrew, Ya Rudder still looks bent mate.. How much difference in weight was it to a foamy round the same size.?? I am tinkering with some Balsa designs (Old designs) which I found on the net to build hybrid Foam/Balsa Gliders for sloping.. Foam formers with balsa sheeting etc. Balsa does fly better but also breaks better.. Cheers.
@@AndrewNewton No, MUCH lighter than a typical foam plane this size. Balsa's advantage over foam is much greater rigidity and less weight. More difficult to repair, but can be repaired to 100% new condition with balsa scraps, a sharp knife, some glue, and a covering iron plus a lot of time. Foam can be repaired quickly and easily in many cases with a hot glue gun and not much time, but it will never be good as new. Foam is quicker and easier. Balsa flies better. There are pros and cons to both.
Nice plane! Is it just me or did it actually fly better with the 3S battery? I too would like to see what you can make with the box. Your box planes are so good - sometimes better than the plane that came in the box😝!
Mr Magpie, didn’t want a prettier bird on his patch!

Wonderful to hear about your success Jay. Thanks for watching and I love a cold beer!
Magpie must be flying 6s cause he had no problem keeping up.
Oh you have to make that box fly! 😀
Yes it is asking to be reused.
Nice review. Love the brilliant paint design.
This a bit too agile and fragile for my current skillset.
"Agile and fragile" That's poetry AW!
Thank you for xuwing xbird Video!!!! I Love this plane. I would serching today for an good FPV Plattform

Great Review an Show!
Beauty Adino.
Fantastic!
GREAT review!...are those servos a good brand? Are they metal gear? Thanks again
Can't recall what they were.

Haha, apologies for our weather.
Impressive
Nice flight demonstration. Looks to have very light wing loading and the aerobatic capability makes it a lot of fun ;-) See you in the Air!
Yes you're right. Light wing loading, decent motor and a good fat airfoil. Such a fun model
Hi Andrew - what kind of aileron hinges does it have?
Omp hobby make some nice planes. I like the "Bighorn" model best I think.
I'll check it out.
I have the Bighorn and love it. It really fly's well after moving the CG back from the recommended spot.

Heavier than a foamy I think, but certainly flies with precision. No flex I guess.

Always fancied flying a balsa model plane, but afraid of it turning to pieces during a crash, if there was a crash of course...lol
Yes, always a risk. They dont bounce like foamies
Thanks for the review Andrew. What a great flying site. Are you allowed to mow it ? Would be even better 🙂
The council slash the grass very occasionally. Very big job.

Great box, I'll have to do something with it. Lighter 3S battery might have been the difference
If the tail's strength has been comprimised by the break, you might want to avoid knife-edge flying. It puts a lot of stress on the tail.
I'll redo the tail when I can get some matching film.
Incredible roll rate for the wingspan, with only 50% throws and not going fast.
Scary roll rate!
Nice plane very maneuverable according to the video. The "maggies" were not very cooperative!
🔥💕👍
Well nowt wrong with that one 👍
