The Most Colourful Island in VENICE | BURANO, Italy
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 вер 2024
- Burano is a very small island in the lagoon of Venice and it's said to be the most colourful and one of the most charming islands too. However, we visited during Easter and it was insanely packed so if you're planning to visit Burano we highly recommend avoiding going on a public holiday.
You can get around Venice on foot or by water taxis/bus (vaporetto). The 24 hours begins from the time of redemption.

The lunch spot that we stumbled across back on the main island of Venice had friendly staff and also Venetian cicchetti which are local "point and choose" finger foods.

Address: Campo S.S. Apostoli, 4433, 30121 Venezia VE, Italy

Peter, your perplexed enjoyment food face might be one of your better food faces… hopefully you’ll find something both scrumptious and bewildering in a future vid… would like to see that one again… looked like great exploring weather… too bad the line was 2.5 hrs!!!! I would have just jumped in the water and swam… for real… lines 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴…. Glad you guys found a peaceful spot at the end…. Hope the traveling is going well and stay safe guys!!! No worries on only 1 of 3 islands… big props for even making it to one.. and to answer your question, yes… been to Venice many many many times… Venice, Los Angeles 😁
😂😂😂 dude, I dunno if that one counts.
The fish flavor wasn't one that was familiar to me 😅 it was interesting yet very tasty.
Italy has a lot of random "Don't do" laws and unfortunately in Venice one of those is don't swim in the canals 😅 but I'm sure you would have gotten there faster than our ferry hahahaha
Wow, that queue was insane 😳. Travel and patience really do go hand in hand. Venice is a gorgeous tourist trap for sure 😊
I know right! One thing that we don't take lightly after Italy is how long lines can get in popular Europe destinations. Really shocked us.
@@PeterandYen the crowds shocked me. As many tourists as Spain 🇪🇸 get, they have great booking options to avoid huge queues.
😮 o that's good to know! We do want to visit Spain one day too
Is never like that.they went the wrong days...
been to venice about 14 yrs ago. its a magical place indeed and definitely needs to be visited before it drowns in the lagoon
Definitely 😅 hopefully it won't happen anytime soon 🤞
Rest of the world willsink before Venice..mark my worlds😂
GLAD YOU ARE HAVING A GREAT TIME IN ITALY.AND ENJOYING THE FOOD,
Italy 🇮🇹 has been great especially the pizza 🍕 😁
Just glad that the weather was good 😀when the que was so long 🫤. Thanks for sharing Burano visit, with the nice weather, the colours of the houses was really nice.
No, not been to Venice. Joyce (my better half) and I decided, we do virtual holidays through yourselves😅, and explore more of NZ, both South and North 😆
No worries thanks for coming along on the Burano adventure, would have been nice to show the other islands too but reserve something for next time.
I can understand you and Joyce, New Zealand is a slice of heaven 🇳🇿❤️
Great video, thanks for sharing. Just sucks that you had to wait so long to get on ferry.
Hahahaha it's ok, after time it just becomes a fun memory 😂
Sorry to hear that you had to queue and stand for such a long time. Nice tulips.
It's no problem sometimes things don't go to plan 🤷
You both must be sooo exhausted but worth the trip. Must say it's very interesting and colorful place...love it, kind of give a happy vibe.🥰🥰🥰
😊 it was quite an exhausting day but looking back at it totally worth it 👍
The crowds are crazy!! I would love to go to Venice for the carnival but the crowds scare me honestly.
Sorry you guys were cold, but it is so nice to know you found good warming food to give you energy to go on.
I heard Murano is wonderful. I used to buy crystals made in Murano, and the person who sold them to me always encouraged me to go, so hope you guys go back one day, and I hope we go too!
Much love to you!
😁 hello Maria 👋 hope you've been well. We'll definitely have to come back one day and visit the Dolomites as well as Murano.
My parents bought a wine decanter and glasses from Murano but it's for show only 😂
Say hi to Lieles please 😁✌️
Burano sucked your time guys but we enjoyed it. Its a little Venice out there but colorful.
Still, Venice & Burano were still beautiful.
The garden was a great way to end your vlog guys.
Looking forward to your Florence vlog guys. Take care
😂 yeah at the time the waiting wasn't fun. But now thinking back we are glad to have gone seen the island 🏝 the garden was lovely 💗
Excellent island👌👌👌
So busy and it's not even peak season... 😳
😅 I know right!
Loving your videos and love that you put prices of what things cost. Sorry your Island-hopping day didn't turn out as you planned but it sure helped me for my trip next year so thank you.
Glad you enjoy the videos! We wondered if it was just that extra busy coz of the Easter period! Hope you have much better luck than we did 😅🤞🍀🍀
Bepi's house looks so cool! It's a shame you couldn't do all of your islands, whose bet was closest for when you got to the ferry terminal? Looking forward to Florence!
😅 totally forgot about including the results of that bet. Kershia and I (peter) got it bang on two and a half hours. Yen was much more optimistic with 1 and a half hours 😂
Nice video 😮😮😮😮
Thanks ✌️
@@PeterandYen you’re welcome
Really enjoyed your videos 👍 I have been to Venice a couple of times, the last time when we were there in January, we stumbled upon a carnival where everyone was dressed in classical masquerade costumes, it was super crowded but also so much fun and cool looking at everyone dressed up for this special occasion!
Oooo wow! What a fun way to experience Venice. The masquerade carnival sounds amazing 😮
Holiday crowds 😢thks for the patience & smiles! Venice offers so much... beautiful
😂 crowds in Italy were often like this this.
I wish you made it to Murano, the glass capital of the world for a millennia... The glass in Galileo's telescope was made and ground in Murano.
O that's so cool! Didn't know that about Galileos telescope. It's ok we have something to look forward to when we come back one day 😊
@@PeterandYen I thought you might like that little bit of trivia... ☺️ Seriously though, Murano glass is stunning. 😊
My mum and dad enjoyed the glass works at Murano a lot and bought a decanter plus a few glass cups. They are for decoration only though 😂
@@PeterandYen lol.... Classic mum and dad behaviour.... 😅
@@davidbeazley1958 yes! I know right. I tease them by using the glasses for a cup of water from time to time because they are so precious about not using them
Another Great Video 😊 i have noticed in Italy a lack of face masks and i guess social distancing wouldn't be easy in big crowds and long queues. Never mind, just keep sanitizing the hands and keep on having fun 😊 Love your work .
😁 yup people wear masks a lot less in Italy. Also didn't come across any social distancing restrictions. Basically life is back to normal there.
Burrano looks quieter and much more relaxed than Venice itself, but those queues 🤯
Burano is most definitely a change of pace from the main island. Quite a nice little place to explore 😊 it's just getting back that you need to worry about 😂
@@PeterandYen you can both swim, can't you? 😉
τελη απριλιου 2024 ειχε λιγο κοσμο και ηταν υπεροχα. Μακαρι να ξαναπαω,
Very colourful buildings there in the opening clips! Yeah that looks like a good ticketing system! Good that ticket lasts 24 hours I think you said! Oh my gosh that line for the ferry! Yeah super colourful buildings there in Burano! Yeah most interesting food there! Hey some nice gardens there! Dang about not getting to the other islands, still a great relaxing in those gardens! Very cool job though!
😁👍 was nice to check out the colorful buildings of Burano 🇮🇹 now that some times passed, don't seem to remember the lines as much 😂
lines looked almost as epic as the food
Burano was so busy then.I was wondering if it would be better in winter.'cause I'm gonna be there in Februrary
I think I would have skipped, too. So much time wasted just to get on and off of the ferry and the ride, but the island is worth it. So many colourful houses 😍
😅 yes... those lines are crazy. Glad we made it to the one island though. We will set our expectations better next time 😂
@@PeterandYen something to add on my note 😅
Thanks for this practical video! We wanted to see Burano but it’s definitely not worth for so expensive tickets, seeing island in half an hour and spend another 2 hours standing in queues
😅 it certainly was quite the experience. Glad you found this video useful for your own planning
Btw just to add, it really might have just been the period we went which was around Easter.. so maybe it's not quite so busy at other times 😅🤞
I think I'd get bored there in about 2 days if I lived there. I'd be thinking, "Where is the park where I can play tennis, or a nice bike trail in the woods for riding my bike? Where can I fly my radio control airplane? Where are the theatres, and comedy clubs, and hobby shops, and indoor sports arenas?
❤
Unfortunately like the glass in Murano, the lace is made in China. There is very little and very very expensive lace made in Burano. Wow what a line to get the ferry back. I expect this is in high season. We managed two islands.
We were there in May and from what we read this is a shoulder season 😅 can't imagine what June and July must be like.
Would have been great to see two islands 🏝 😊
A week in burano is not long enough
Hi, where is the Garden you were sitting in at the end of the video ?
Hi Mike it's called Giardini Papadopoli.
Has anyone been to Burano on a normal day when the line wasn't so bad?
All the waiting etc...not my cup of tea
😅 yeah 💯 wasn't fun waiting for hours on end
