This started at 34 weeks for me, today I'm 38 weeks and this makes me feel so much better! I really thought I was being overdramatic or crazy, two hospital visits, one at 35 weeks where they gave me medication to stop the contractions and even that didn't work and the second just this past week that they told me some people are just contractors 🙄 thank you for explaining what I feel should've been explained to me a while ago!
I experienced prodromal labor for 7 hours last Wednesday at 38w3d. It's my first pregnancy so I had no idea what contractions felt like nor how to time them and ended up going into the hospital. They confirmed I was feeling contractions that were 2-5min apart and 5-8min apart, etc, however, my cervix was closed. I was shocked I was being sent home because it was so painful and I truly thought we would be admitted. My husband and I returned home, I tried to sleep but the contractions continued. As a last resort, I had him run me an epsom salt bath and the second I got into it, the contractions completely stopped. It was unbelievable. Your videos have been way more informative than any of the OB doctors at my OBGYN office. It's frustrating how complacent doctors can be by failing to educate their patients and rather choose to rush through appointments. I've had too many 3-5min appointments with my doctors only for them to ask "any questions?" I have no idea what to ask! With that being said, thank you for what you do! We're due on Sunday and until then I'll make sure my husband and I review a bunch of your videos beforehand.
I tried the mile circut this morning 8am after prodromal labor all week. My water broke 1pm and gave birth at 4pm! Thank you for all the videos. She came so fast I didn’t get to try the comb or any labor positions I wanted to do.
I watched your video when I was in a desperate situation of a week of false labour . The video reminded me of the fascia release . My husband assisted me and whilst doing the release my water broke . If it wasn’t for your video , that reminded me I wouldn’t have had the natural birth I aimed for (I was actually on my way to the hospital for an induction ). Keep on making these videos . You helped Me! Love from South Africa
Omg this happened to me! Everyday I’d get intense contractions every three minutes lasting a minute for an hour or two. But they wouldn’t progress past that in intensity and would stop out of nowhere - particularly when I was able to head to the hospital 😂 my Ob gave me a sweep at 39 weeks exactly and I went into labor three hours later. Quick, amazing delivery. But woah, those two weeks were the longest, hardest of my life. If you’re going through it, please know it WILL end even though it feels like eternity.
I’m on day 2 of going through this! Omg it’s so frustrating. It’s my 4th kid. My water broke every time with my other kids. This one is so uncomfortable 🥴 I got sent back home today from hospital. This sucks! 😑
I had no IDEA this existed until you posted it! I have been experiencing all of these symptoms the last week and its extremely draining and takes a toll mentally as well. Now that I know of this I will definitely be talking with my midwife! THANK YOU! I was really starting to think I was going crazy!
Yes! I'm currently expecting baby #6 and all my previous births have had prodromal labor for between 2-3 weeks. One benefit though to it (for me at least) was that when I went in and was deemed FINALLY in active labor, I was already at 80-90% effaced, 4-5 cm dilated, and (in all but 1) already at a -1/0/+1 station.
@@HELLO-b1pyes but from what I've seen (anecdotally) is that people who experience prodromal labor have actual labors that progress much more quickly
@@dolcepescas6153did you have the baby yet? I’m 37 weeks currently and since 35 weeks been in so much pain period type pain and not dilating I will all to god
This video is so helpful. I didn’t experience this with my first at all, but currently 35 weeks with our second and I think this is what’s been happening every evening for the last week. Last night it was so strong and painful we really weren’t sure if it was going to progress or not, but thankfully it fizzled out in a few hours. It did help my husband and I have some good practice together for dealing with the pain and get ready for another labor and delivery next month!
Thank you so much! This exact thing happened to me. Two days of contractions being 3 mins apart and only 2cm. It was so discouraging. One of the nurses mentioned that it seemed like baby was face up and that’s probably why things weren’t progressing and why I was having an insane amount of back pain. So I’ve worked on getting her to move. Your video popped up at the perfect time as I’ve been trying to figure out what the next steps would be. Your tips and tricks are so helpful!!!! Thank you so much for sharing.
I'm 39 weeks and it's my 3rd day having prodromal labor. So frustrating! Baby nr 4 for me and it's the first time I've experienced this. I'm 4cm dilated and have had my bloody show. Can't wait for this prodromal labor to get on.
Currently have been experiencing this for the last 2 weeks. Makes sense now as I have been the most stressed out in my entire life. We just lost all three of our vehicles in a really bad storm, have a sick pet, death in the family, and many other major life stressor happen in the last month. Super.
You're awesome, nurse Zabe :) I'm watching it from over the ocean with gratitude! I wish our doctors shared this information with birthing people as easy as you do!
Im probably sure that you’ve been told this before, but you remind me soo much of Drew Barrymore.. the way you talk but you look a lot like her too. Plus I really like your videos too! I’m 31 weeks with my 4th and I’ve been having contractions almost daily and I’m 2cm dialated already. My doctor isn’t worried yet, he said to wear a pad just in case I start leaking fluid to track fluid just in case..and to let him know if the contractions continue for more than a few hours consistently. My baby is definitely really high at the moment, and it’s very uncomfortable and right above my belly button, so she’s not in position yet.. she definitely moves a lot. I work on my feet, and usually about 5 hours into my shift I start getting extreme pressure on my cervix, and I start feeling discomfort in my sciatic nerve and down my leg, also I get really bad heartburn and start coughing if I bend over too much, like when cleaning.. i try to avoid bending over and I sleep with a lot of pillows behind my back and head.... i don’t want to have my baby too early so I want to prevent labor from happening too soon.. a lot of this has been helpful, and I appreciate all of the information in your videos. Thank you.
This was the most helpful video I’ve ever seen in my life and I’m absolutely doing all those positions tomorrow before my husband has to go back to work. This is my third baby, I have polyhydramnios and I already know he’s in an awful position because of the fluid. Every time he gets in a good position, I get those “it’s baby time” contractions but as soon as he bounces up or slips out, they stop. I’ve been dealing with prodromal labor for 3 weeks now (had my second by the end of those 3 weeks last go around) and I just cannot tolerate it anymore. We’re slowly dilating, so when I do get good contractions we make progress, I just need him to cooperate and hopefully he stays put!
This video could not be more perfectly timed. I started having preterm contractions around 32 weeks, with Braxton Hicks contractions in between them. It has progressed to prodromal labor these last couple of weeks. I was 1cm and 60% at 33+5, 1cm and 70% at 35+5, then 2-3 cm and 70% effaced at 37+5 and 38+5. Got added to the elective induction list yesterday (39 weeks) because I have lost all hopes of progressing to active labor, among a few other factors. There were 10 people ahead of me on the list yesterday, so definitely gonna try some of the tips that I haven't tried yet while I wait for that phone call.
I was like this with my second. Almost exactly but mine started at 27 weeks every 7 minutes. My third was similar as well. I was 36 weeks 2 and 2, 37 weeks 2 and 2.5, 38 weeks 3 and 2.5, 39 weeks 4 and 3, 40 weeks 6 and 4. My second (6) came that day and my third (4) came 4 days later thanks to Miles Circuit helping my contractions regulate. Good luck Momma!!
Awr I love your energy you made me feel so calm and relaxed 🤣 I been having prodromal labour for few weeks! I’m experiencing one right now while watching you! I use to consecrate on the false contractions but now after I seen this video I will fully ignore them! Hope it does get real soon thought I am 38weeks and 4days
I’m 38w5d with my second baby, and I think I’ve been in prodromal labor for a full day now. The contraction strength has intensified since yesterday, when I thought they were just Braxton hicks, and now they’re mildly painful, but they’re still all over the place. Sometimes 10 minutes apart, sometimes 30 minutes. Going to do a Miles Circuit and hope this turns into real labor within the next day or so.
I had prodromal labor with me second, started around my due date and lasted a full week. It was awful and all the pain was in my back. I ended up having a placental abruption, an ambulance ride to the nearest hospital and emergency c section. Thankfully baby and me were healthy. What a ride! Our bodies are amazing!
This is what I got told I have. I have contractions every 3 minutes, but I made no progress over 2 hours so I got sent home. The contractions never stopped. Now I’m confused about when to go back, cause I’m still having them about every 3 min
This video gave me so much clarity and peace about this. I’ve been experiencing it for a week now and I was a bit scared because I’m only 26weeks pregnant and thought that I was going to have my baby pre term. I was having contractions for two days straight every 2-5 minutes none stop and then as the days went by it started fading into maybe once or twice every 2 or 3 hours or just once randomly in the evening. So they are dying down thankfully
This is me right now, 2 hospital visits for preterm labour scares, now in a pattern of around lunchtime and then early evening where I'll get an hour to 90 mins of Contractions that hurt and then it will fizzle out. Have ended up having steroids as I'm only 35 weeks this weekend.... Little man is prepping me good and proper! Thanks so much for this video x
Wish this video had been around when I was giving birth last year! I had prodromal labour for 3 nights and it ended in an induction (successful) because they were concerned about the baby. The first two nights were not bad - the contractions lasted for 10 hours, were regular, but were not crazy painful so I could sleep. The third night was brutal - the contractions were crazy crazy crazy painful (as painful as they were during active labour), and close together... But then labour again stopped after 10 hours. Once I was induced he was born within 5 hours - it was crazy quick, crazy painful, but I'm so glad my little guy arrived safe.
This helped me not be so frustrated with them for sure. My first didn’t come in entirely straight and it caused me so much pain. I feel better knowing my body is trying to prevent that from happening again.
Needed this video - 36w 5d, and went to the hospital in so much pain. I spent literally 14hrs bouncing between 6-8mins. I was 4cm 70% effaced and -2 station. They kept me for a few hours and no progression. Never had this with my first and am absolutely miserable. I’m scheduled for a c section and wish they would just take me instead of going through all this pain.
omg....just the first 5 secs of this video i was like "THIS IS ME!!" so i'm thanking you for making this vid lol. Gonna be doing them this weekend so i have some time for my parents to get here so someone can watch my toddler while hubby and I are in hospital
That's really interesting that prodromal labor is more likely in a first pregnancy. I had it for 3-4 weeks with baby #1 and haven't this time with #2! She'll be here this time next week!
Not pregnant, but as soon as I start feeling ANYTHING, I'll turn on The Lord of the Rings: Extended Editions. Nothing could be more relaxing or comforting!
@@taylorjohnson1948 loool good luck! I'm not even pregnant, but my birth plan is to go through early labor and transition while watching the extended editions of LOTR, then pushing while listening to "Hey Jude". It shouldn't take longer than 8 minutes if everything is going well, right? Right?!?
Finally understand what happen with my first, i didnt know this existed, all my contractions were at the back every 3 min then every 2 min all night and strong! But nobody guide me with different position to help my baby move. Now i’m educated, and trying for a VBAC. Due in less than 2 weeks 🤞
Baby #4. I've been having prodromal labor for 3 weeks now. 35w I went to L&D I had 1-2 minutes apart contractions went from zero to 4cm dialated in 1 hour! Admitted me and 4 hours later I was 6cm. Then labored with no more change for 8 more hours baby was to high to do anything else. Ive been back to L&D 3 times with 1-2 minutes apart contractions but no further change it last 5-6 hours then goes to 10-15 minutes apart. Im physical and mentality exhausted. Stressed because hubby works an hour away and I know it will go quick once it starts for real. I am so ready to be done. baby finally dropped last week!
Thanks for this video! My first labor was the scenario you talked about at the end. My labor was augmented by having my water broken at 6cm dilated and I ended up with a c-section after pushing an hour and a half due to his head being lodged sideways in my birth canal. Second pregnancy now and I’m 38 weeks, 5cm dilated and 80% effaced. I am having more painful contractions that start and stop. So frustrating! Going to try out some of these recommendations.
Please please do a video on precipitous labor!! I had one and it was a wild ride. I read all the books. I knew a precipitous labor was possible but didn’t think likely to since it was my first time. We used the Bradley Method (highly recommend if you want to go unmedicated btw). I laid down in bed to start my relaxation exercises after I started having really painful contractions. I started feeling pressure less than an hour later. My contractions were only lasting 30-40 seconds but they were less than 3 minutes apart. It was like they went from zero to a hundred in no time. I wasn’t sure what to do because it wasn’t go at all like I had expect. Thank GOD my husband was such a good birth partner and loaded me up in the car ASAP or our son would have been born on the living room floor. I arrived at the hospital at 6cm. Transition lasted about 20 minutes and I only had to push 3 times before he was out. I’m glad things progressed quickly and I didn’t have to go through a 72 hour ordeal but holy hell was that intense.
Interesting! I had prodromal labor with my second for 2 days before baby was born and it really threw me for a loop. I expected a faster labor the second time around and I felt stressed and confused for days. But you’re right, by the time I was in active labor, it was fast
I’ve been stuck in this for two days. 39 weeks today. This is my third baby and I’m over it. Trying the miles circuit to see if it stops it and puts me into actual labor. It’s annoying when I tell people and they’re like oh Braxton hicks. Nope I mean real contractions. I’ve done this two other times I know real contractions vs Braxton hicks.
im 19+3 and I've been having Braxton hicks I thought it was wayyyy too soon but apparently not. im glad I watched this video and got some clearification
So helpful! 39 weeks today and pretty sure I'm in the middle of prodromal labor since I was told on Friday that I'm 2cm dilated and have lost my mucus plug. Your videos have been so helpful throughout my pregnancy! ❤️
I’m having prodromal labor at 30 weeks with my second baby 😅 Soaking in an epsom salt bath has been the best thing, as well as taking adequate magnesium and calcium
My prodromal labor always starts so early, except my first. With my first, I had it for a week at 36 weeks, then my doctor broke my water at 37 weeks. With my second, it began at 29 weeks me I had no idea what was going on! I had a c section at 39 weeks, so contractions that WHOLE time. Now I’m on baby #3, and already went to the ER with regular contractions at 28 weeks 😞 it takes such a toll...
I had prodromal labor for three days when I was 34 weeks pregnant. It was my third child, so I knew it wasn’t Braxton Hicks and I knew it wasn’t active labor. It hurt like “real contractions” but it wasn’t settling into a pattern. My doula suggested I use these same baby spinning techniques and the pain just disappeared and didn’t come back. We used a rebozo for the wiggling part, and I was surprised how much I wanted my partner to pull up.
I didn’t even know there was a word for this. I was in labor for 3 1/2 days and those first 3 days I never progressed past 4 cm. I was so discouraged. I went to the hospital twice and was sent home to labor at home since I wasn’t progressing, so they wouldn’t end up doing a c-section. Last time I went they had concerns about the baby in distress so broke my water then things moved along overnight and I had her by morning.
Great video! You explain everything so well. I wish I had this in info in november (baby#2). I had a true start and stop labour for 8 days with regular contractions all day that stoped at night. I was 10 days past my duedate when labour started with my water breaking in the middle of the night, my girl was out less than 3 hours later.... an intense experience! Looking forward to your next video!
@@Nurse_zabe Yes, crazy! and when labour finally started I was mentaly exhausted... I understod that there was no time for an epidural, and I'm terrified of pain, so I just kept crying " give me all the painmeds I can have!" 😂 Im looking forward to hearing how you experience these types of labours, my nurse-midwife said she didnt think there was time for another birth before her shift ended..
Nurse Zabe, please keep us in your thoughts.. we just found out our rainbow baby has a heart defect and poor functioning kidneys and will need surgery immediately after birth.. I'm so scared.
I had this non stop for over a day! contractions come every 5-8mins and lasts for a min. It was painful, I couldn't eat and sleep. I drank pineapple juice (not sure if it helped or mere coincidence) then by 5-6hrs I am already 5cm dilated! I wish I knew this
Currently 35+4 with a big boy, and have been having prodromal labor since this past weekend. Today had me near convinced for awhile I was in labor (mind you this is my 4th child) then they started spacing out again. I. Am. Exhausted.
Had that with both my last pregnancies. Started at 36 weeks with my first, had to be induced at 39+6 because dispite getting to 5-1-1 time after time it would stop after 2 hours. Was 3.5 centimeters dilated when I got to the hospital for the induction. Then with my second it started at 35 weeks, got swepted at 37, 38 and 39 weeks; went into labor that afternoon. Funny thing is, my contractions slowly got closer over the few hours. But on the last hour before we rushed to the hospital (we live 45+ minutes away from any hospital), my contractions went from being 8-9 minutes apart to 1 minute apart! No notice, nothing just straight to 1 minute. When we got to the hospital I was 3.5 cm dilated, I asked them to break my water, and 4 hours later we met our 2nd baby girl. Now 24 weeks pregnant with our 3rd girl. I'm sure I'll be having the same early contractions as I did with the other 2 😅🤷🏽♀️
Thank you so much for all the infos! I'm at 38 weeks and had this weird episode of mild bleeding + small contractions two days ago, but they stopped after two hours. It might have been prodromal labour!
I'm 36 weeks 3 days with #2 and been having prodromal labor for a week now 😭 been stuck at 1cm, which is ok cause I'm not even 37 weeks. I've been using the yoga ball, side laying the last few days, and honestly at the point i wish labor would kick start 🥺🥺 just wish this all started at 37 weeks instead of so early. I was induced with my first at 40w 3d so i didn't get to experience any of this. Barely even had BH with him.
Ohhh I’m looking forward to the precipitous labor video!!! My first baby was born in 2h & 3mins .... very fast!!! I’m now pregnant with my second baby (currently 39w and 3 days) wondering if I’ll have another precipitous labor. (My first came at 39w and 3d... so we’ll see what tonight holds!) 😱
He's here! I went overdue 40w +5 days and due to my GD was induced. Induction started at 9am, started being painful at 2pm when I was about 8cm dilated and he arrived at 3.50pm.
I’d be interested in a video on the differences (or perhaps what to anticipate) between a natural birth vs. a planned induction. I’m being induced in a week (at 39 weeks) and have been trying to educate myself on possible differences. Thanks and be well!
Hope your induction went well. I had to be induced with my first at 39+6 because my prodromal contractions weren't going past 10 minutes, except for the random times when it'd get down to 5-1-1. Keep in mind I'd have been having the prodromal contractions since 36 weeks. With my second same thing, but started at 35wks and went into labor at 39 wks. I think the difference for me was not knowing when it was going to happen along with the intensity of the contractions. My natural labor contractions were nothing compared to the induction contractions. I was able to deliver our 2nd with absolutely no pain management except for a hot shower. With our first, I was in labor with the patocin for 7 hours and had to call it quits and get the epidural, delivered her 2 hours later. So total of 9 hours. Currently 24 wks pregnant with our third, and I refuse to ever be induced again unless it's absolutely necessary. My whole birth experience was significantly less painful, more relaxing and just in general so much better with my second than with my first. and I hope to be able to experience my 2nds labor again with our 3rd Hope this was of some help.
I was 36 weeks with my first and 35 with my second, I’m 36 now and having these horrible 20-30 minute apart contractions every night that aren’t doing anything they just stop 😭😭😭 my baby is very large they are talking about possibly induction at 38 weeks so I need to get things going naturally to avoid that
Watching while currently experiencing prodromal labor... Every night for three ish weeks now... They get so intense that I always start to feel sure it's labor... But nope. 5 days late and getting induced on Sunday. Heart broken that it's never real
This is my 2nd pregnancy and I’ve been going through this since 32 weeks. I’m 36 weeks today and they have gotten more and more painful with more more pressure. Baby dropped at 32 weeks doctor said but baby is still in there! Really hoping she can stay put another few weeks but man this is a really tiring miserable 3rd trimester. I’m exhausted. I was induced at 37 weeks with my first because of cholestasis and really hoping to go past 37 weeks this time!
I’m going through this right now! Baby number 3 and I’ve had contractions for almost a week for only an hour each day. They were two hours yesterday so I went to the hospital and I was 4cm 70% effaced. I got so excited and labor stopped 😭
I’m working on my credentialing for being a postpartum doula and found these ideas to be really helpful! Although I will be primarily focusing on the postpartum period for the families, I hope to do education beforehand as well! Would love to hear your thoughts on doulas in a video! Have you found them to be helpful in labor and delivery rooms? Also interested in your next video on precipitous labors! Just had my 4th baby and from being awoken in the middle of the night in labor to her being born was 1hr and 36min😬😳 My other three were precipitous, unmedicated deliveries too but not quite that fast! My OB didn’t make it and my husband had to deliver! He is a physician thankfully and it wasn’t his first delivery, but it meant everyone was “down there” and no one was up by my head encouraging and supporting me😬😩
Oh wow, what a story! I love doulas and I think they play such an important role in the birth community. I’m so thankful my hospital is now allowing 2 support people so doulas are back at the bedside where they belong!
Hi! I watched your video about hemorrhoids and you didn't mention about having them before birth. I'm worried about giving birth after already having them if you could help that would be great. Thank you so much
I'm 99% sure I had prodromal labor with my second. I was in and out for about two months before I just made them induce me at 39 weeks. I had to stop working I was in so much pain. I was pretty sure at the time, but none of my doctors brought up the possibility of didn't know what I was talking about 😕 I think it happened with my first too, but it was 9 years ago and I was a child myself 😅 I'm trying to keep it from helping this pregnancy!
I had Pprom with my second and 2 weeks after my waters went I had prodromal labour for 4 days before she was born. I was 28+4 when my waters went and 31+2 when she was born. Love your videos
What about prodromal labor with cervical change, but no pelvic engagement/station change. Had prodromal labor daily for 2 weeks. Cervix has been opening, up to 6. Water bulging. But station still high Also, could you talk about hypertonic contractions. Had contractions lasting 10-20 minutes. OBs and nurses have all been in disbelief, then confused and shrugged it off because they've never seen it before
Feel like this is what I’m experiencing. Had it for two days with diarrhea now all I get is Braxton hicks that come way fewer than what I was getting before prodromal labour started & diarrhea that eased up just a bit. So discouraging & this is day 4.
Sorry to be off topic - could you possibly do a video about fainting and low blood pressure in early pregnancy (and maybe advice on how to maybe not faint)? I'm pregnant for the first time - it's very early - but I keep fainting. The doctor has assured me that everything is fine and this is normal, but I have become a recluse. I'm afraid to leave the house for any period of time for fear of fainting in public, and at home I'm afraid to stand for longer than five minutes. The fainting itself is a miserable, terrifying experience and I am constantly in fear of it happening again. Thank you so much for the work you put into making your videos!
Hello, just sharing, in my case it was linked to my iron level that was lower than usual, maybe have this double checked with your doctor, I really hope this will resolve soon and you have the opportunity to enjoy your pregnancy. Take care.
@@justine835 given how I described the symptoms, the doctor thought it was most likely low blood pressure rather than low iron. But just in case, I have tried to get more iron from my diet (I’ve avoided adding a supplement because my prenatal already has iron). Thank you for sharing with me! Of all the mamas I know, I don’t know anyone who had this problem, so I feel quite alone.
Coming from a chronic illness side where that is a standard of my life with low blood pressure being the cause, a lot of life is increasing that pressure. So compression stockings, a minimum of 2 liters of water (your doctor will determine the best amount for your own personal minimum), and sometimes they'll want to increase your salt intake through pretzels and chips on the easier end to something called thermotabs if you need more than 2tsp a day
@@blackcat-rc5ee my doctor has seemed very unconcerned and has given little guidance at all- which I’m very frustrated with. I’m thinking of trying compression stockings, but there are so many kinds and I have had a hard time finding them where I live. Thanks for the input!
I have lower-end-normal blood pressure, so I'm careful to stay hydrated and eat with a bit of salt and do squats and inversion poses in yoga very slowly. But your issue sounds way more serious, and I'm sorry you're going through this. A quick way for your doctor to take you seriously (or discriminate if you need to consult another OB who will) is to tell them just how much this issue is impacting negatively on your daily life, just like you've told us here. It's not normal to faint so often that you are afraid to go outside, and you shouldn't have to be dealing with that on your own. I know it's hard to advocate for ourselves sometimes ("doc knows best right?"), but it's so important.
Im thinking this is whats going on with me, Friday i was at 2cm 60-70% effaced, and over the last couple days ill have a few cramps and then nothing, yesterday i got them every 24-32 minutes for about 4 hours and then nothing
I'm just about 7 months into my first pregnancy but I feel like this is probably going to happen to me because my mother was in prodromal labor with me for a week. Once she was in active labor, it did go pretty quickly, but that was also what she was afraid of: she didn't want to have me on the freeway. So she did end up getting an induction, but it went much more quickly than they sometimes do: they started at 9 AM and I was born a little after 1 PM. Fortunately, I'm much closer to the hospital. I could even technically walk there if I'm feeling up to it. So I'm not too concerned about having the baby on the way there.
I’ve been dealing with Prodromal Labor now for 16 days and I’m so exhausted! I have these intense contractions that are time-able for 2,3-4 hours every single day. I’m 34 weeks and had my cerclage removed at 33 weeks. The doctors were hoping that my cervix/uterus were just irritated from the cerclage and things would calm down but nope! If anything it’s gotten worse. I saw my OB yesterday and he checked my cervix and said it looks like I have some scar tissue that preventing me from dilating and he will have to go in and manually break it up when I’m nearer to term. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want a preemie NICU baby again. But, my body and emotions are so exhausted and so over this! 😢 My OB prescribed me Ambien yesterday as Benadryl was a joke to take. I was able to get 4 hours of solid sleep, I’ll take it!
I think I’m currently fighting intense prodromal labor with my second I’m only 33 weeks trying to keep baby in as long as possible but was given lung shots just to be safe. It happened with my first pregnancy as well they were so intense and nothing I did or was given stopped it form coming on and off. I didn’t have much cervical change 2cm over the week but my water broke at that point and I delivered my son at 35w4d
Thank you for all of you videos! Can you possibly do one on precipitous labor? I am fine and normal then bam there is a baby. I’m just nervous for my next being even faster, if that is really a possibility or a wives tale, and contemplating whether sleeping at the ER parking lot a few weeks before birth.
I am dealing with this right now. It is so frustrating. I almost went into preterm labor at 33 weeks and they put me on procardia. Now I am 37 weeks and 5 days, I have been having regular contractions that hurt but they don't change. They said my cervix is ripe but im stuck at a 1. I am so ready lol. This lower back stuff is for the birds. (I did stop the procardia at 36 weeks when they told me lol and my OB said he will let him come whenever now) This is baby #3
I also went into preterm at 32+4 and they gave me the meds. I’m now 35+5 and still having painful contractions, cervix 1cm dilated. I have to stop the meds at 36 weeks as well and really hoping I go straight into active labor because I really can’t imagine just doing this for another month, being unable to sleep or eat or do anything because of these constant contractions! When did you end up giving birth??
@@crystellesaleh4800 I had him at 39 weeks even. They made me stop taking the medication at 36ish weeks. The labor was so fast because my body was so worn out. I hope it gets better for you. I have my finger crossed that something happens for you!
i’m experiencing this right now! i’ve had painful contractions regularly for 3 days, can’t sleep and don’t want to eat.. went to the hospital only to be told i’m 1cm and to head home. so awful, baby needs to come out asap.
Is it common among induced labor + magnesium drip? I heard magnesium sulfate is also used to stop contractions, but I was given the mag to prevent seizures. I only dilated 2 centimeters in 21 hrs.
Can you make a video about having a shortened cervix during pregnancy? (If you can!) I’m 24 weeks and got diagnosed with it at 21 weeks. Not much information out there.
Im 36 weeks in 2 days and i started with what feels like strong period cramps they last about 20 min or more and they come and go so i get to rest in between them but omg they hurt!
Ughhhhh this answers so many questions, I've been having contractions off an on for weeks. They don't get stronger, longer, or closer together. It's always at night and usually about 20 minutes apart. I had cervical stenosis following cryo and I have endometriosis through out and on my cervix. It is my first child and pregnancy. I've had a lot of complications.
Not sure if I experienced prodromal labor 🤔 but with my second baby I was dilated to 4cm at 37 weeks but I sort of got stuck there with inconsistent contractions that weren’t very painful and ended up being induced.
Could you please make a video on the product Pre-seed? I've heard it works great and usually women get pregnant in the first month. Is this true and what are the pros and cons?
My husband and I struggled to start our family for almost a year. We ultimately used that product and now I’m 9 months pregnant expecting our little guy any day! I think we used it for just a month. I’d recommend it. It’s worth a try! Good luck!
What I would have done to have you as a nurse with my first child. I think I would have had a little good in my labor if you were there. It was horrible.
My baby is breech. I have to get a csection for other reasons, regardless of what position baby is in, but does completeting some of the body and baby alignment exercises have the potential to make a csection safer or easier?
I agree with this comment so so much. I'm so tired of dismissive medical professionals.
The miles circuit ended my early labor and triggered my contractions to get in a pattern! Baby came 2 hours later and it was amazing!
How often did you do it?
Omg this happened to me! Everyday I’d get intense contractions every three minutes lasting a minute for an hour or two. But they wouldn’t progress past that in intensity and would stop out of nowhere - particularly when I was able to head to the hospital 😂 my Ob gave me a sweep at 39 weeks exactly and I went into labor three hours later. Quick, amazing delivery. But woah, those two weeks were the longest, hardest of my life. If you’re going through it, please know it WILL end even though it feels like eternity.
Yes, it may feel like it can never end, but it does!! 💗
It does feel like eternity i just wanna cry everyday
I’m on day 2 of going through this! Omg it’s so frustrating. It’s my 4th kid. My water broke every time with my other kids. This one is so uncomfortable 🥴 I got sent back home today from hospital. This sucks! 😑
I had no IDEA this existed until you posted it! I have been experiencing all of these symptoms the last week and its extremely draining and takes a toll mentally as well. Now that I know of this I will definitely be talking with my midwife! THANK YOU! I was really starting to think I was going crazy!
You are definitely not going crazy! 💗💗
Same here!! Pregnant with my 4th baby and it's the first time I experience this, worse thing is it happens early in the morning 🙄
The whole point of prodromol labour is that one’s not dilating
@@HELLO-b1pyes but from what I've seen (anecdotally) is that people who experience prodromal labor have actual labors that progress much more quickly
Hydrating and an Epsom salt bath has worked wonders when I was in prodromal labor.
how did it help? did it make it stop? how long were you in prodromal labor?
@@dolcepescas6153did you have the baby yet? I’m 37 weeks currently and since 35 weeks been in so much pain period type pain and not dilating
I will all to god
This video is so helpful. I didn’t experience this with my first at all, but currently 35 weeks with our second and I think this is what’s been happening every evening for the last week. Last night it was so strong and painful we really weren’t sure if it was going to progress or not, but thankfully it fizzled out in a few hours. It did help my husband and I have some good practice together for dealing with the pain and get ready for another labor and delivery next month!
This is the best video I’ve ran into!! I really appreciate you explaining why prodromal labor happens, it really has helped me to make peace with it.
Ugh, that sounds so tiring. Hoping your sweet little one makes their arrival soon!
Oh my goodness, that sounds so terrifying. So thankful you and babe were ok. 🙏🏻
This is what I got told I have. I have contractions every 3 minutes, but I made no progress over 2 hours so I got sent home. The contractions never stopped. Now I’m confused about when to go back, cause I’m still having them about every 3 min
I ended up having her the same day I commented this 💕
This video gave me so much clarity and peace about this.
Watching with wifey, you're so great and well informed 😊
This is me right now, 2 hospital visits for preterm labour scares, now in a pattern of around lunchtime and then early evening where I'll get an hour to 90 mins of Contractions that hurt and then it will fizzle out. Have ended up having steroids as I'm only 35 weeks this weekend.... Little man is prepping me good and proper! Thanks so much for this video x
Preparing for labor..I'm due in 4 weeks..So grateful to have such information, so I know what to look out for and how to handle it.. Thank you❤
Good luck! You’ve got this! 💗💪
40 weeks tomorrow and have definitely been in prodormal labor for a couple weeks, hopefully my little one comes soon (: thanks for this video!!
What were your results? I'm due today with my 3rd 😕
That's really interesting that prodromal labor is more likely in a first pregnancy. I had it for 3-4 weeks with baby #1 and haven't this time with #2! She'll be here this time next week!
Our bodies are an amazing mystery sometimes!
Not pregnant, but as soon as I start feeling ANYTHING, I'll turn on The Lord of the Rings: Extended Editions. Nothing could be more relaxing or comforting!
I'm 39 weeks with prodromal labor and I'm going to try this today! I'm relaxed when I watch tlotr too!
Right?!?
Lol my go to relaxing things are also somewhat unconventional: heavy metal music and phineas and ferb. LOTR is a good one though
LOL this is what my husband and I are doing. We figured at some point during the extended series, the baby needs to come!
Finally understand what happen with my first, i didnt know this existed, all my contractions were at the back every 3 min then every 2 min all night and strong! But nobody guide me with different position to help my baby move. Now i’m educated, and trying for a VBAC. Due in less than 2 weeks 🤞
How did this end up for you?!
How did this end?!!! I’m going through the same thing. I’m just ready for the real thing
@@karynturner6848 I had c section at 39 weeks. Due to medical history and past pregnancies.
It’ll be my next one!
Interesting! I had prodromal labor with my second for 2 days before baby was born and it really threw me for a loop. I expected a faster labor the second time around and I felt stressed and confused for days. But you’re right, by the time I was in active labor, it was fast
Once your body was ready it knew what to do. But those false starts can be so frustrating 💗
Love this, you are so informed and make great points! Also, side note, love your make up in this video 😄
You’ve got this! 💪
I’m having prodromal labor at 30 weeks with my second baby 😅
Soaking in an epsom salt bath has been the best thing, as well as taking adequate magnesium and calcium
Crazy how you can have both prodromal and precipitous labor in one pregnancy.
I am so sorry for that difficult news. Sending prayers. 🙏🏻
Thanks for all your helpful videos. I would love for you to do a video talking about the safest beds and sleep practices for newborns.
I'm sure I'll be having the same early contractions as I did with the other 2 😅🤷🏽♀️
I had prodromal labor two weeks ago. I was having contractions and waiting for my water to break. It stopped in the middle of the night. 😒
So frustrating and so normal! 💗
Thank you so much for all the infos! I'm at 38 weeks and had this weird episode of mild bleeding + small contractions two days ago, but they stopped after two hours. It might have been prodromal labour!
Definitely something to chat with your OB or midwife about!
@@Nurse_zabe update : I'm going to have my baby today 😱
The last day I had this.. I thought it was “false” again until my water broke.. got to the hospital and ended up delivering in less than an hour 😅
Cant wait for the precipitous labor video! I had a ONE HOUR labor with my daughter, my second baby. It was honestly TERRIFYING.
Oh my goodness, I bet 😬
Labor with my second was an hour and my third was 2 hours! Definitely a fear of baby in a car!
Does it depend on baby's initial position as to which way around the Miles circuit is completed i.e left or right?
What can you do before you get pregnant to help with scaring on the cervix after a leep procedure?
Ohhh I’m looking forward to the precipitous labor video!!! My first baby was born in 2h & 3mins .... very fast!!! I’m now pregnant with my second baby (currently 39w and 3 days) wondering if I’ll have another precipitous labor. (My first came at 39w and 3d... so we’ll see what tonight holds!) 😱
Good luck
Good luck. But also I'm a little jealous lol
Oh my goodness, I hope I can get it out before your baby arrives. Good luck, mama!!
@@threeoftrees9286 please don’t say you’re jealous. It’s terrifying and can be dangerous for baby with it being so fast.
My whole birth experience was significantly less painful, more relaxing and just in general so much better with my second than with my first. and I hope to be able to experience my 2nds labor again with our 3rd
Hope this was of some help.
Very very frustrating. It's happening to me.
What about prodromal labor with cervical change, but no pelvic engagement/station change. Had prodromal labor daily for 2 weeks. Cervix has been opening, up to 6. Water bulging. But station still high
Also, could you talk about hypertonic contractions.
All put in my labor toolbox 😁
Yessssss!
How do you give a newborn a bath. The umbilical stump fell of and hes only 1 week and a few days?
My OB prescribed me Ambien yesterday as Benadryl was a joke to take.
I am 40weeks & 2 days I had already discharges a blood... what to do
Thank you for all of you videos! Can you possibly do one on precipitous labor? I am fine and normal then bam there is a baby. I’m just nervous for my next being even faster, if that is really a possibility or a wives tale, and contemplating whether sleeping at the ER parking lot a few weeks before birth.
Yes! It’s going to be my next video!! 💗
It’s so frustrating, but it will not last forever. 💗
40+4, 3 cm, 90% effaced, and 0 station. I'm losing my very mind because I'm not having any progression.
He's literally in the right position and everything and I'm going through prodromal labor. I'm annoyed and just ready to give birth already.
Is it common among induced labor + magnesium drip? I heard magnesium sulfate is also used to stop contractions, but I was given the mag to prevent seizures. I only dilated 2 centimeters in 21 hrs.
This is so helpful!
We love you Elizabeth 🥺💜
💗💗💗
Hi Nurse Zabe!
Can you do a video on SPD during pregnancy?
It’s on my list for sure!
@@Nurse_zabe Thank you! Currently going through it now at 26 weeks and it's making me scared of labor lol
In breech babies, many women report experiencing prodromal labor! Myself included! (With baby no. 3!)
This was amazingly useful!!! Thank you so much. We'll be having our baby girl in early July, so I'm taking notes here like crazy 😂
Aw, congrats on your sweet girl!
Getting induced today
Thanks for all of your videos! I've loved them all, and have found them so helpful 💕 I'm 36 weeks with my first baby, and I can't wait to meet him 💙
When are you due? I’m 36+3💙
@@wanderinghollss3387 April 25th! I hope I go a little early because he's a big baby! Haha! Congrats on your baby too 💙
@@allisonbradford3756 same girl same! Due 23rd and I’m ready to put his eviction notice in now😂💙
You’re so close!! 🤗
Not sure if I experienced prodromal labor 🤔 but with my second baby I was dilated to 4cm at 37 weeks but I sort of got stuck there with inconsistent contractions that weren’t very painful and ended up being induced.
It’s totally possible!
I am so sorry you had such a difficult labor 😢
My baby is breech. I have to get a csection for other reasons, regardless of what position baby is in, but does completeting some of the body and baby alignment exercises have the potential to make a csection safer or easier?
And what if you're only 33 weeks and don't want it to progress yet? :,(
