      @@sissyrayself7508 Sweetie you must be in your teens. A mom is someone who raises you and cares for you, whether they are blood or not. This egg donor? Is not her mom. She didn't raise her, she isn't responsible for her. She gave another woman the gift of being able to conceive and it was that woman, who DECIDED to have a child, to raise her own damn kid. You cant rope in the third party like that.

    I am laughing at some of these comments. Women selling eggs is no different than men selling sperm. If she wanted to become a parent, she would have gotten pregnant herself and had the child. She wanted to make money and let someone else who was unable to produce their own eggs have a baby. Once she leaves the facility where she donated, her job is done and that ends her responsibility. Imagine if all the men that gave up their sperm had to worry about the offspring from it.. Crazy

    Really a worthwhile short. Nice acting, beautifully scripted ending. I really appreciate that the woman instead of guilt-trapping herself into being the kid's legal guardian, made the right decision of not getting involved with the child personally but made sure that she's in good hands before leaving. Her parents abandoned her and the government is taking responsibility instead, the child had noone other than her parents to blame for her fate. Yet she tried to blackmail the donor who had nothing to do with anything happening to her. A sane decision made by a mature adult, this is so hard to see in films these days. This video is fulfilling in so many ways.

    • @SS-bu8ez
      @SS-bu8ez 6 років тому +1

      It's her egg though. And she still is her biological daughter. I'd say she still holds some responsibility. Because of her that girl was born to those parents.

    • @alchemist6514
      @alchemist6514 6 років тому +40

      @@SS-bu8ez Donors are not, by any means, responsible for the well-being of a child born out of their donated ova/sperms. Because birthing a child is not a donor's decision, it's a decision made by the parents of that child and they are taking help from the donor just because they are biologically unable to produce a offspring. If at a later period in life the parents create inconvenience for the child or refuse to take the responsibility then it's sad but those parents are the ones to be blamed. It sounds harsh but being 'biological donor' doesn't automatically makes one a parent, being a parent is a process, where a sane, adult person takes the responsibility of a child willingly. The donors are just medical aid for willing but biologically uncapable parents. They don't have any kind of responsibility, neither legally nor morally.

    • @SS-bu8ez
      @SS-bu8ez 6 років тому +6

      @@alchemist6514 Even if a kid was not biologically mine but showed up at my door step. I would try my best to help him or her. It's the humane thing to do. Not drug the kid and call the police. Talk about traumatizing a child and creating trust issues for them in the future.
      What a heartless world we live in now. People are so incredibly selfish these days. Anyway I do believe in Karma. Good or bad it will come back to you one day. What goes around comes around. Who knows maybe in the future this lady may need that girl's help. That day it would serve her right if the girl refused.

    • @alchemist6514
      @alchemist6514 6 років тому +30

      @@SS-bu8ez That lady did not abandon the girl at some helpless state. I would have called her heartless if she abandoned the child at the roadside to die freezing in cold in that drugged state. The government was already taking her responsibility but the girl instead of a regulated and monitored life under adult supervision wanted a free life with a person with laxed regulation(obviously she would have blackmailed the woman in a later period to let her do what she wants) , where she can hang out with her little hacker friends without any bar and that's why she tried to coax the woman into letting her in and by what way? BLACKMAILING! The woman made sure that the girl is in right hands and should be taken care of in a proper way before leaving. That's the most humane thing one can do for a helpless child. Allowing someone into blackmailing you into ruining your life is not kindness, it's point blank stupidity. There's no point in getting emotional over the girl's tragic life because she would still be taken care of with good food, safe shelter and proper education at the orphanage. Just because she's a minor and she showed up on someone's doorstep with preparations to blackmail them, doesn't make her stupid demands correct.

    • @the_equal_halves2063
      @the_equal_halves2063 6 років тому +17

      ALCHEMIST I agree with you on this take. For a few seconds I kind of wished the woman to take responsibility of the girl. But then again it wasn't her fault anyway. She didn't know the parents using her ovum would create trouble for the child in future. She also called the police who would make sure the child is taken to the National Nurturing Centre. That was truly the right thing to do. Besides the girl is lucky that such a system exists for orphaned children in her country. In some countries orphans are left to die on the road with no provision and nobody cares,to be precise they don't have the provision to take care of such children. How her 12 year old brain decided to blackmail someone for a life of luxury instead of a regulated life at the nurturing centre is really horrifying.

Also, men donate sperms and i haven't seen any bashing of men for that. She donated her eggs. Who knows how many eggs she donated? Does this mean this all the kida birthed from her donation need to come looking for her?
    Maybe the eggs that women don't end up fertilizing with sperms should have a say too.🤦‍♀️

    It is easy to say, she donated her eggs so she should be responsible. But the child wouldn't be born without the consent and action of the child's parents, thus the parents are irresponsible. In another sense, the biological mother has already sign away her right when she sold her eggs. Plus, her living arrangement and career would not allow her to take in the child.
    But I am worry about the future of the child. Let's hope that her message got across to the child so that the child would turn out to be a better person than the parents who raise the child.

A young struggling college student would do anything;maybe except prostitution. Sometimes people think they can’t do such immoral things; thinking and the actual reaction to a situation r two different things. I feel quite conflicted by opposing views i personally hold. I believe that a child deserves a home and that individuals who made her possible should take responsibility in her growing life. However, i also believe that being a parent is a choice and not merely a responsibility (i hold a negative view of parents who choose to be parents yet cannot take responsibility). I feel sad over her circumstances, one that makes you realize how unfortunate others can be and you cannot do something about it. You rationalize instead to make yourself feel better. But, hey! End with the pessimistic side! In the optimistic one, we will never know how her situation will shape her as a person in the hands of those who will care of her and the people she will meet. She might find a family she never had

      Yes, but this woman only donated her eggs to the corporation. She didn't choose to have a child, merely give a sterile woman the chance to do so. She didn't take part in the process of conceiving this girl, and has had nothing to do with her for supposedly 12 years. By all means, this child is connected to her simply through biological relation and nothing else. Why should she change her whole life for a child she never planned to have?? This girl is better off seeking help at an orphanage.

      jam castle How ignorant...not everyone wants to be a parent and not everyone gets to be a parent. This sort of exchange allowed a sterile woman to have a child, whom was unfortunately neglected and raised in a lonely household. Can the woman who donated her eggs be blamed for this treatment? No, of course not. She was merely ridding herself of a burden and giving someone else a chance at maternal happiness. There are, of course, many other forms of happiness and fulfillment in the world.

And she can’t take care of her either, like she said she’s always not home and she is the one who’s gonna have to deal with the girls faults and consequences and that is not fair for this woman who never wanted her, who was just in need of money for college because it’s hells of expensive

      She never expected to have to take care of a child, nor did she want to. That's her decision, and it's perfectly respectable. I mean, look at the requirements of her job earlier on in the video. She has to travel, early and often it seems. She's been promoted, and appears to be quite ambitious, working extremely late hours. She has no time for a child in her life, and never wanted one. Simple as that.

    This made me cry so very hard. The lady was so cruel. You have to take responsibility for what you do. She sold her eggs for a certain amount money, but is now running away. The kid is her responsibility because she is her parent and one of the people responsible for the kid being in the world.
    No one wants to be born, but the parents are taking the responsibility or the kid when they decide to bring them into existence. Sick people. I'm glad things like this are immoral and illegal and sinful in my part of the world.

      nevermind me she is. she is the reason the kid is in this world.
      If egg donation was legal, her being not responsible would've made some slight sense, but if she didn't "give up" her rights and responsibilities, she is responsible which is exactly why she didn't want the kid to have her DNA sample.

    • @sheakba
      @sheakba 6 років тому +4

      M S that wouldn't be the case because the opinion of the person who got raped isn't involved. That person did not willfully bring the child to existence.
      But if you're donating eggs, you're willing to do it for whatever the reason maybe. You know a child will be born. You know it will exist and you are the reason it is existing.

What about shitty parents who treat their own offspring terribly. Are you against adoption too or just people who want to be parents but need a fertile egg? life is life.

    • @sissyrayself7508
      @sissyrayself7508 6 років тому

      I'm saying that this is my opinion. I have not formed it will nilly.
      Just because Science makes something possible doesn't make it right.
      Thousands of people, even millions may be brought into the world without knowing if they might possibly be married to one of their siblings. One sperm donor man had his DNA used to make over 359 people. One woman had over 27 children made with her eggs.. This is just ONE of the many complications caused by embracing this new technology.
      The world is FULL of children who are in desperate need of adoption or fostering.
      I feel this egg and sperm donor thing to strangers who will be raising YOUR children is no wise or good thing. THAT'S my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
      Now, if a family member or friend needed eggs from me, or if they needed to borrow My womb, by all means I'd give either.Id still think it was WEIRD, but not as WEIRD as being totally disconnected
      In my opinion, it's the disconnected way it's done, often anonymously, amongst totsl strangers, that I have a problem with.
      Babies are people, they need to KNOW who their people are.. and biological parents ARE parents .. in this situation I feel there is a need for more transparency and more intricately thought out regulations. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I can understand the other person's perspective on the matter as well, however,
      Resultant children of this tech have no say in any way about anything, and have no way to get to know their biological parents..
      Amongst a myriad of other possible weirdness and complications we can't even imagine yet, as this hypothetical futuristic portrayal in this movie illustrates.
      I DO feel that this woman was selfish. She used her future child as a tool to help pay off her debts, not caring or even thinking about what may become of her child. The parents who saw this woman's eggs as just a cool new trend they could get in on obviously felt no deep connection to the resultant person it brought into the world. I also hate how the show was portraying children as scary and dangerous and who needed to he seen legally as adults. I could go MUCH deeper into the implications of this trend in the brainwashing of movies in general, but I am not making that point here today.
      No one loved this child.
      this I find repugnant.
      This is what happens when you treat people like biological commodities.

      @natib4957 6 років тому +3

      this is an unstably insane amount of text. But I will assume something from this korean drama personally triggered something within you. biology does not always make anyone a good or suited or rightful parent. but I respect your anger.

    • @sissyrayself7508
      @sissyrayself7508 6 років тому

      Furthermore, there's extensive screening done on any perspective adoptive parents. Even then sometime kids get into bad fit adoption situations. Some kids are born to horrible parents, I agree with you about this.
      Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, depending on how you look at the world, parents are still able to conceive naturally with no training, forethought or screening to prove they will be fit parents. THAT'S a complex issue and I'm not trying to address it here, as no one wants to be reading a long book- length comment and mine tend to be too long anyway.
      People using other people's DNA only have to pass one test..
      can the afford the clinical fees.
      Obviously I find this highly disconcerting.
