Just coming back 10 years later to say that artists like Lil Nas X who have heavy helping hands from production to songwriting to marketing are being lifted and praised for singing over rock influenced instrumentals; while B.o.B was criticized and hated within the hip hop community for his creative side at the time. I feel like B.o.B paved the way for a lot of the current generation artists and was thrown under the bus while doing so. Thank you Bobby Ray.

I'm just saying, B.o.B was criticized for genre blending while modern artists are praised for it. In the music industry, someone's sexuality or sexualized image is often used as a marketing tactic to become a talking point, but is not really important when talking about the actual music side of things.
B.O.B is just early ahead of 10 years, Lil Nas just did it at the right time.

B.o.B had such a good run for a couple years then i have no idea what happened to him. Airplanes, this, the list goes on. Absolutely incredible songs that incorporated chart topping mainstream + his own style at the same time. A lot of artists don't have what he has. He can literally do SOOOO much in terms of his music. So multi-dimensional. Creative song topics, good performing, good music videos, his verses aren't too bad, and a GOOD chorus voice.
