Shoutout to Bruno, Em, and Royce. This was one of the defining songs of middle school for me. I was a 13-year-old kid who tried to act funny to make friends, never realizing I had to just be me to make the friends who mattered. I was a kid who made up stories, drew cartoons alone in his room, never thinking too far into the future. Ironically, I was too trapped in my imagination to think big. I don't regret it, or else I wouldn't be the man I am today. Now I'm 23, and I'm proud to say I've accomplished more than I ever dreamed. I went to college, went abroad, and now I'm putting myself through school to do a job that won't make millions of dollars, but I hope will make a difference for others. And I'm not done yet! I'm still that same kid who likes to write stories and draw pictures, and no matter what, I'm gonna publish those stories someday. The other day, I felt the saddest I've felt for a while, and it's because this social distancing stuff is finally getting to me. I felt alone and like I wasn't doing anything fulfilling with my life being stuck inside, and that hurt to think about. But now, listening to one of the most inspirational songs of my teen years, I've been reminded of all I've accomplished and all I still need to do. For all of you out there who feel as uplifted by this song as I do, you're not alone in this pandemic. I know you don't know me, and I don't know you, but I know that however alone you might feel, you still have things you know you have to do or want to do. Summer 2011. I had this on repeat on my Blackberry playlist. I miss being a teenager. You'd have to be alive during that era to know how special R&B and Hip Hop was.
nope you are not alone..... i almost had every single song from year 2011.... from last 2 to 3 years i am losing my interest . because of all this shit like nicki minaj , iggy azalea , jb .
Asia A I agree. Music now sucks. Only a few people keep it good like this. Everything is has the same techno beat. I say that whatever when good music began-2011 is the good music. Yeah, I'm starting to sound like an idiot....
To be completely honest I loved everything. The video was nice, Bruno's part was amazing, as was Royce's and Eminem's. The beat was cool, the rythym, I absolutely love this song. My fav since it came out.
This clip proves that the SPIRIT of the music is what attracts us, not what we see. No bullshit, no cheap tricks, just BIG TALENTS and true feelings. My RESPECT
Unpopular opinion: but if Bruno Mars continued this style of music he would still be dominating the charts. Edit: I really didn’t think I had to explain what I meant but there’s too many confused souls in this thread. I KNOW Bruno STILL dominates charts with his newer genre, notice how I used “still” in my original comment implying that yes his old AND current genre are both hits. I was saying that his older style would‘ve worked post 2010s because he’s timeless. Now that you’ve seen this, please reread the original comment before lighting me up over a simple opinion 😂
Jonah Estabillo if he continued this slow love song type of music instead of this new era of like old 80s style pop, like “uptown funk” and “finesse” he would’ve still been popular. I can’t explain what genre he’s doing now, but if you compare bruno mars old songs like “lighters”, “grenade”, and “nothin on you” to his newer stuff you can tell a major difference in style. So I was just making a point if he stuck to his older style he would still be able to do really well in today’s pop. I get artists need to evolve to fit the trends, but honestly old Bruno is timeless and shouldn’t have been one of those artists.
My man, Bruno is still topping the charts, the music is decent, and he's doing his thing and evolving as an artist. Besides, the critics have been positive about his last album, and i think he's happy making that type of music, so i hope he continues doing what ever makes him go. But i get your point, he and his songs was lady killers
Luka Rangelov Im a girl. I didn’t say he’s doing bad or is unsuccessful, I was just voicing an opinion that his older music is so timeless that it would’ve still worked for this new generation of pop music.

Eminem is the most influential rapper of all time and the GOAT to billions around the not just in the United States. I also write this comment from a small village in India at 4Am in the morning because i needed to listen to some Eminem for my motivation for the day.
@@lalruatdika2052so true bro, you're right. Where are you from? I'm from India, Nagaland.
Summer 2011. I had this on repeat on my Blackberry playlist. I miss being a teenager.
You'd have to be alive during that era to know how special R&B and Hip Hop was.

I'll never understand why there's so few songs like this. It's literally perfect.
It’s hard to do pop and rap like this without it not executing it well. But they actually did it.
@@fuziontonygamingexactly
Them new rappers they don’t make real music anymore
Am I the only one who feels like 2011 was THAT year for good music?
nope you are not alone.....
i almost had every single song from year 2011....
from last 2 to 3 years i am losing my interest .
because of all this shit like nicki minaj , iggy azalea , jb .
Asia A I agree. Music now sucks. Only a few people keep it good like this. Everything is has the same techno beat. I say that whatever when good music began-2011 is the good music. Yeah, I'm starting to sound like an idiot....
Music now,is just shit. Lost interest in it,all the music now is 'bout booty.
Agreeeeeeeeee.
2009-2010 was Amazing, Like O.M.G and Eminem, but 2011 was also great.
2017 and I still falling in love with this song

Erm...there are still collaborations lmao
@@szondagergo5721 I think he mean something like Bad meets Evil, not simply feature
To be completely honest I loved everything. The video was nice, Bruno's part was amazing, as was Royce's and Eminem's. The beat was cool, the rythym, I absolutely love this song. My fav since it came out.

What do you mean
@Forever Simgirl I agree on you. If he just continue this type of genre maybe he will be the favourite artist of everyone.
p.s: no hate just opinion
Luka Rangelov Im a girl. I didn’t say he’s doing bad or is unsuccessful, I was just voicing an opinion that his older music is so timeless that it would’ve still worked for this new generation of pop music.
Nearly 2018, still chilling to this.
Now 2018 still chilling
