Hello watched you from Mauritius. Great recipes. Ty. I believe they can't be kept outside unless they are canned! Please correct me if I'm wrong. Ty. Tc.
How long do the eggs last in the refrigerator? How many days after you stick them in the refrigerator before you eat them? Back in the day you would see a big jar in the bars and I don’t think those ever got refrigerated. That is why I never tried one.😀 But can’t wait to try one of these.
Great questions! The eggs can last 3-5 months but ours are gone long before then😊We like to let ours marinate for 10-14 days before we start eating them. We like to keep a jar in the refrigerator for quick protein snacks and regularly use them in egg salad sandwiches, potato & macaroni salads! Give them a try. We hope you love them too!
I know this is a late response but I misplaced some of my homemade pickled eggs. Found em in back of the fridge 5-7 years later. And I ate em all and lived to tell this story. They were great .
No pun intended: I don't like the recipes that use vinegar. I used to marinate them in soy sauce/water just a day before when I was driving trucks in the early 9ties. Quick and easy (and I didn't have to play with salt, while driving ;-) Some ideas about this version: using different sauces: oyster sauce / maggi seasoning / golden mountain sauce? While I saw some yolks exposed on your 1st batch: a good trick is to gently stir those eggs around , when they are coming to a boil. It will keep the yolks centered. And then you can poke the whites with a fork (carefully) for faster penetration with that brine. Of course you can leave the eggs in such a brine for longer than just a few hours. That was just me to have a snack while on tour. Back then, no bakery or such had a parking lot to fit my truck in. And it was always: "get your tour done fast!" Greetings from the far north of Germany! Hope, I was able to inspire you!
@@OurWeekendHomestead Thumbs up and comments keep the algorithm alive. I'm just about to invent a kale soup. Most recipes come with pork. Causing me joint infections. Once saw a chinese recipe with spinach and shrimp (can send the link, if u wish). My idea: onions and garlic in goose fat until tranlucend. Kale in, with some chicken broth on low heat. Just defrosting some huge (size 5) shrimps to go in at the end. To be seasoned with my favourite "mild curry" from "The Spice Merchant", 1300E. Douglas Witchita,KS. What is your favourit kale recipe?
Hi there! Yes, we have been growing more and more of our own herbs and using them in all our recipes. We are working on a new video with more pickled egg recipes. Stay tuned! Thanks for watching & commenting.
I followed the spicy picketed eggs and let them sit in the fridge one week my son said it had no pickled taste and wasn’t spicy at all ,can I put more pickling spices in after I made them?
Hi there! Yes, add some more to your liking. We do that here from time to time. Sounds like your son likes a lot of spice. Throw in some hotter peppers. It’s an easy recipe to modify to your taste. Thanks for watching & commenting.
It was the first time I made them so I followed your instructions but I added ten habaneros after he let then marinate longer and shook the jar up he said they tasted better I was rotating them once in a while but he really shook it up and is letting them sit longer .Thankyou so much for writing back next time I think I’ll put 2 tablespoons of pickling spices
Forgot to mention my daughter in law has chickens and some of them layed smaller eggs about the size of quail eggs that’s when my son mentioned those would be good pickeled
That’s great! We hope they are super tasty. We can’t keep enough in the fridge. Look forward to hearing how they turn out. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Great question. They should be fine. I would just rotate the jar daily to keep them moving around in the brine. Here is a link to fermentation weights. You could add one of these to push them down in your jar. Thanks so much for watching. amzn.to/3ThJGeN
Much easier if you put your boiled eggs into water and put them in the refrigerator overnight the condensation gets underneath the shell and the eggs slide right off. Why do you need sugar I am a diabetic and most of these recipes add sugar I'm not sure that your does however I would eliminate the sugar . I hate eggs but but I am trying to find a way I will like them
Thanks for commenting. Great tip on peeling eggs. We will for sure give that a try on the next batch. No sugar in these recipes. We hope you try them out & like them. Thanks for watching!

How long should I boil the eggs? 8 minutes would be ideal? Thanks
Hi there! I typically do 7 minutes from when the water starts to boil. Thanks for watching.

have you ever used fresh herbs (rosemary or oregano) in your deli style?

It's been a month. How did the eggs turn out 🤔
It's been a year now how did they turn out?
Is it a problem if the eggs rise up over the Brine after it is sealed. In the jar
