How To Make A Gate Self-Closing With A Gate Spring
Вставка

- If you want to make your outdoor gate self-closing, I'd recommend using a gate spring. I like these from National Hardware ( amzn.to/3Ov1Upc ). I have a 14" and a 11" installed which means my wood gate closes quite aggressively, including with a breeze, but most of the time a single 14" spring will do the job.

Can you Zoom out so we can see what you are talking about?
Next video! Thanks for the note.
No kidding 😂
Like...let's record a video and not show what you're trying to show.
Total boomer.
So flipping annoying😂
You feel me?
This needs a re do so that you can actually see what is going on
Perspective, please. The video is zoomed too much, we cannot see the whole area or even the whole spring.
all shots are too close to see how you installed the spring... I wish you shown the whole gate
Thank you, super helpful
I have to repeat what others have said. I am waiting for you to zoom out so we can see the entire gate. Even when you’re demonstrating the gate all you see is that wooden part but not even the entire gate or the springs. It would be an excellent video if you had some distance from the gate to be able to see how it operates, positions of the springs etc. as a whiter picture than the close-ups of the actual springs themselves.
Thanks for the feedback. Will follow this up with more videos
Too close, can’t view entire gate
2:08 THANK YOUUUUUUU, i had no idea what the little metal stick was for. I thought we got a faulty item 😅😅
I really appreciate your efforts. However, i need it zoomed out on the video.
Noted!
Could not see anything
how are we suposed to know what u wish to show
Full video is zoom mode. Can't see the opening and closing action.
I for one would like to see it zoomed in closer. We aren't able to see the microscopic structure of the metal spring. Why would you not zoom in super close to reveal the atomic alignment within the spring? Please take the time to reshoot the video.
Thanks for the feedback. I’m well prepared for macro work.
Ok, I used one of these. I bought the Everbuilt kit from Home Depot. The instructions say maximum 3 turns, but after experience, and after what you describe, it’s just moving the screw no more than 180°, or three “flats” as I think you explained it. I tried to do it 3 full turns and the little stop doohickey got launched like a bullet and embedded in another part of the fence. Realllllly terrible instructions by the manufacturer. So people, this poster is right, don’t over tighten the top hex bolt. I’m gonna get a second one of these as you recommended.
go easy on the close ups.
Thanks for the feedback! Noted.
Good grief man. Shoot that tight enough????? Wow.
Wow too much close up lol - no good backed off overview of the thing working 😢
how you know what size spring you need 14" 10" 8"??
They will depend on your door but I’m using a 14” which is a typical size for a pre-made wood panel door
Did you mount those on the inside of the gate?
Yes. With the door swinging in
@@HelpAtMyHome Copy that.
@@HelpAtMyHomethat’s exactly what I’d need- but door hinge is on the other side, would the top still be on the gate or would it be reversed the top on the post if the door swings in but from the right?
Someone got a new 55mm lens lol
Your diagonal gate brace is on the wrong way, it's not supporting anything like that.
Where's the next video?
5 mins of my life ill never get back waiting for you to zoom out. A simple picture would have done better. And I had to watch 2 ads 😂fml
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Camera was zoomed in TOO close. Why did we watch the whole thing looking at 2 - 4" of the spring? The camera should have zoomed out to see whole door & where spring was in relation to hinges.
Thanks for the feedback
Stopping deer? 😂
6-7ft fence will stop deer pretty reliably so long as it’s impossible for them to see through. They can jump it but I’ve found that they won’t
sorry sorry. Pardon my ignorance. Deers just sound so exotic where I come from. I wouldn't bat a eye over a wallaby but no deer. Thanks for the great vid. I'm back from the hardware now;; ready to give it a go!
Zoom out & actually open the gate so we can see it’s effectiveness
Can you pan a little closer please
Hold on I need to get my microscope.
Sorry guys. I’ll do better next time!
Film way too close! Not helpful
Thanks for the feedback!
The diag brace on door is reversed
Yes! Previous owner was not as careful with some things as I would have liked
A Socket would have saved destroying the top paintwork
Why didn’t you zoom out??
Next time! Thanks for the feedback
this is too zoomed in to see what you did
👎cuz ge didn't zoomed out
Video is to close view
cannot see
I did the same with Woodglut :)
yeah zoom out please we don't see anything
Zoom in a little closer, and don’t show the action 🤦🏽♂️
you have been showing the spring for five minutes, you don't need a video at all, you should just post a photo.
Thsnks for the feedback
I have a headache
Hey dude, next time zoom back from the spring or gate so we can have a general view of the gate and the lenght of the springs as well as where it connects at the top and bottom. This video is a waiste of my time.
Thanks for the feedback
Not too useful. Should start with the big picture to see gate size etc.
Who in the hell is recording this video? You might as well just point it at the sky
Too close and made me dizzy going up and down. Frustrating
Probably the worst video I’ve seen of trying to describe a product.
Well at least it’s notable in some regard. Thanks for the feedback
Waaaaaaaaay too long with the talking and not fast enough with demonstrating
Thanks for the feedback
Wow your camera work is completely undesirable! It has pretty much rendered this video useless!
Thanks for the feedback
horrible... its like watching through a magnifying glass...
Appreciate the feedback
Horrible camera work. Way too zoomed in. Cant tell what you did at all. Thumbs down.
Thanks for the feedback. Later videos have improved (a little)
he camera person is awful so moving on to another video
Thanks for the feedback.
Poor videography
Pretty bad recording.
Appreciate the feedback
Don’t ever do another video again if you can’t do it properly.
Thanks for the feedback
