Sounds awesome. I use my fractal with pitch detune and a little reverb and delay to get that wide and ambient sound. This would be great with my traditional amps.
@@KMAMachines Good point. I first saw the Road King version 1s back in the Hollywood store around 2000. I thought they either looked like mission control at NASA or one of those old 1940s style long distance phone banks where the operators plugged the jacks in to complete the calls. The back end of the amp literally looked like a studio patch bay. I would not want to retube or rebias one of those bad boys. And so many tubes. Every time you lifted that massive beast you could hear the tubes clink in there. The head was built like a tank but I worried about the fragility of the tubes. I also tried out the Mesa Nomad, which was new at the time, and seems to be one of Mesa's few forgotten and disliked models. I ended up going down the road a bit and bought a Carvin MTS3200 JCM800/900 style head and full stack from the Carvin Hollywood store for what a Dual Rectifier head alone would have cost me--about $1200 in 2000 money or about $2250 now.
@@LeonTodd "Pretty f'in okay!" as my guitar friend says. The RK was certainly the flagship amp of the early 3-4 channel tube amp head days. I don't think it was until some of the more recent Randall heads that I've seen so many knobs in one place.
Leon, do you think this Pedal is a good solution to integrate guitar Pedals in a DAW(Pro Tools, Logic, etc) for Mixing? or do you know a better solution for that? thanks
I was mega excited about the doubler some time ago, I also asked KMA if they would be making a stand alone doubler in the future, all I would be using this for is the doubler. Agree Fractal’s detune can sound great for 80s ADT tones (love them too). We have quite a bit more going on here than detuned modulation and delays though 🫢 the AI has onset detection that adapts the doubling to the way you strike the stings… the post FX Loop mode will get you more 80’s chorusey though if that is what you’re after 😎
@@KMAMachines so impressed with the double tracker - it's inherently musical rather than just being something that sounds cool but simply becomes annoying.

Hi Leon, great video!! Do you think the power amp simulator is as good as the Friedman IR-X? Right now I'm using Synergy Syn-2 through the IR-X's power amp sim and through an OX Stomp, with the ENDGAME I think I could simplify things a bit. What do you think? @@LeonTodd I need to listen to your video better with headphones or studio monitors, but my first impression is that the EL34 and KT88 power amps sound glorious and contribute quite a bit to the Sodano's tone.
Hi Leon! Loved the video! I'm slowly building a "pedalboard-rack" and I was wondering if I could do the following (to get the classic 80s LA recording sounds): Guitar -> preamp pedal -> Eventide TSC (stereo out) -> Eventide Micropitch/SA Collider both all in parallel (using the Parallizer 2 for example) -> stereo in Endgame: -> stereo power amp sim -> stereo (or dual) cab sim -> stereo into audio interface or FRFR cabs. And a clean DI from my guitar running directly into the Endgame. Would this be possible? Also could I blend the clean DI with the processed sound within the pedal? Or do I need to do that in my DAW for example? Thanks!!!
From the manual - "...the entire CAB Impulse Response Loader, Power Amp Simulation and Ambience block can be positioned pre or post FX Loop using the DUAL IR CABINET SIMULATION PRE/POST toggle switch. In addition, the same flexibility is available for the True Double Tracker circuit using the TRUE DOUBLE TRACKING toggle switch" So if you plugged your stereo signal into the Engame FX return it looks like you can do all of that!
Love the pedal, but it's easy to overdo it with this one. Hard to get a stereo image which still gives a clear & up in your face experience. It's one of those effects where less is more. Great video Leon & greetz from Germany :)
I had a viewer recommend this thing in a comment back in like January. Seems like a really cool device. They 100% need to make a reactive load device with this built in for a 1 stop product to go cab-less on stage. For "just an IR loader", it comes across as a spendy option if you don't already have a load box. A surh reactive load unit would be another $350 on top of this thing's $400 price but it's the same situation you'd be seeing if you were comparing this to the OX Stomp. Like... give me this thing but about the size of the suhr reactive load or hotplate that does reactive load and has all the options on this and sell it for $650. I'd buy one.
Nice idea, but not going to happen, at least in the short term. There’s just not enough potential users who would want that and the dev time to justify making a load box when there are a lot on the market already. ENDGAME is not just a simple IR loader though, it took 3 years to develop completely from scratch. From the dual IR convolution (up to 96k 500 ms), the AI double tracking to the high end real Pro level outputs, everything is custom, because we were not impressed with many of the (frankly not always so great) off the shelf solutions out there (power hungry old style dsp based chip stuff etc. for one - which is why we were able to make this device run at less than 350 mA at 9V ) 🙂 Don’t get me wrong, never say never but a “decent” load box isn’t a trivial thing to do well.
@@KMAMachines Yeah I understand. I've got several load boxes and none of them are perfect. I think I'm just frustrated that no one has built what I think could be the best all in one DI solution. Some products come pretty close but are missing one thing or another. My Boss Waza TAE is incredible from a feel perspective as a load box. The variable load settings make a huge difference on the sound and feel but the IR capabilities are just bad and loading an IR is a hassle and it's really expensive. The OX Box is great from a sound perspective and I prefer their sound to any IR but no direct input on that unit and at full speaker volume, it's still attenuating the sound. My fryette power station is great from an attenuation stand point but no speaker sim DI capabilities at all. My captor x is nice and portable but the DynIR sounds are just okay IMO and the volume reduction options if you're wanting to use a cab on stage are a joke. I know RedSeven and Surh both make good reactive load IR devices but honestly I'm just tired of spending money on these things... it's why I ended up getting a Mark VII since it has the reactive load already built into the amp and I can just send the DI signal from the amp into my ox stomp and be done. If you guys want to send me one to try out on my channel though, I'd certainly like to put it up against the OX stomp and my 2 notes Cab M+
Unrelated but the Ox & Two Notes impedance curves both have a "bathtub" style curve that doesn't behave like a real cab when used standalone. I've also fried a few loadboxes over the years so having the reactive load seperate from the other processing makes it easier to service if need be.
