I edited this entire video with one eye so please be gentle in the comments LOL 😭 This will probably be my last video of 2020! I have so many other ideas I plan to share with you all in the future, but all of my video plans have been put on pause until I am fully recovered. A future video explaining my hospitalization and situation will be up some time in January. Thank you for watching and I will see you all in the new year! Be sure to subscribe ♡
Thank you so much for sharing this vid and your skating journey with us! Your videos are the first ones that I watched about skating, and I’ve been super inspired by you! I just started learning to spin, and even though its not a tutorial, this video helped me so much more than some of the professional ones have. Even just seeing how you moved your feet and folded in your arms helped so much! I hope your health continues to improve and that you have a wonderful year ahead of you!!!💕💕
I just started learning how to spin and there are a few things from my dance days that helped me nail this quickly! One, make sure when you are holding your arms in as you spin that your shoulders DO NOT go UP, push them DOWN, and engage your trap muscles (squeeze your shoulder blades together). Two, just barely lean slightly forward. And three lead with your SHOULDER don't even think about what's going on with your feet or you sike yourself out! ;) Happy skating!
I just saw a post from another skater talking about how she feels less balanced and more frustrated around her period. There are so many factors that can effect our practice. We have to allow ourselves the space to take each day as it comes. 😊 Great spin progress!
It'd be great if you could film a comparison video with the new skates vs the impalas!! I'm stuck on what to get because I do need them to be affordable but at the same time I don't want to get discouraged because the skates were subtly hindering me 😅
Remember we skaters have some days when we aren't as good. You are not alone. A little tip that has helped me a lot before practicing your tricks make sure you skate around before just to get more confidence and to get that feeling of freedom before you start.
You're The Best Linda! Thank you for sharing your progress with all of us!! It is truly refreshing when you say things like "i had a bad skate day" or "i was getting really frustrated this day" - the transparency in comments like that reminds me to be gentle with myself while im learning! I'm really excited for more videos of you (and your friend) learning/ accomplishing:):):):):)
Honestly thank you for posting this 🙌🏼 I’m on Day 42 and pretty much around the same place which makes me feel a whole lot better 😅 with other people advancing so quickly it’s sooo hard not to get frustrated 🤦🏻♀️
It took me about 1 month to learn how to spin properly, that was a few years ago though.I’m 13 and I’ve been skating since I was 6 so I’m now more comfortable with tricks and falling but from I remember I was really scared to do these but in the end I was able to do it
You've inspired me a lot. I only saw your 2 30-day rollerskating videos 3-4 days ago, and it made me remember I've been wanting roller-skates for a while now---- Hence why I watched so many more of your rollerskating videos on Instagram and on UA-cam. You inspired me so much that just 1-2 days ago, i ordered my own pair of roller-skates. They should arrive in early January, and I'm super excited to get them. Although where I'm from, it'll be raining a lot in January, so I might not get that much time outside. But that's off-topic, you've inspired me so many times, and I've seen that the fear of falling isn't bad, its actually quite normal, falling is easy, falling is good for learning; etc. You really have helped me so much to realize that this might just be a great physical hobby other than Online Hobbies (Gaming, YT
Your toe stops are bolt on and can get in the way. Totes cool for beginning but you may want to get some skates with an adjustable toe stop so you can adjust them to be higher and get them out of the way. I started with bolt on and found them cumbersome. I wrote this before seeing you took them off and put plugs in and then got the impalas with adjustable toe stops. Good job on your journey!! Your learning so quick!!! I’ve been skate for 3 years. Derby to start then trail skating and now I’m trying ramp skating. Dance skating is next on my list. I can do the moon walk... so there’s that. I just love skating of any kid. It’s so freeing and frustrating in the most wonderful way.
You are so good at bending your knees! 🤣 like I’m really in awe! That’s the HARDEST thing for me to remember. I’m still learning how to skate forward-like stroke skating, and committing my balance to one foot (still scary). Thanks for these videos, no teaching just good encouragement. 😍💙 hope your good a year later
I am suggesting to start roller skating. I used roller skate when I was like 10. So I’m sure now it will be little difficult lol but you the first person I have watch and I am convinced to get roller skates 👏🏻
I love these videos 🙏 I’m learning spins right now myself! It’s so difficult and getting dizzy super fast doesn’t help with progress haha. I have to do something else really often..
Would you say moonlight is easier to skate in than impalas? I was actually referring to the impalas 😂 I’m deathly afraid of practicing spins. Wonder if the skates could make a difference? Thanks!
I dont know if this would be helpful or just annoying advice but for the 360 spins, to help not getting dizzy, choose your focus point. I know that's easier said then done but maybe it helps? I'm just starting to skate, so I'll be trying it too. But in dance, when we learning to do multiple quick spins at a time, a helpful tip we were given was to choose a focal point and once you begin your spin, basically your head kind of turns first in order to have your body follow. It sounds weird and maybe im not explaining myself right but hopefully it makes sense and hopefully it help. Or who knows, maybe its something you're already doing by now 😅, im just typing as I watch the video. You're doing amazing by the way!!
I figure skate (on ice) and we don’t do that, mainly because you go too fast to keep up with the head movements I think, and it’s not really necessary to have to ‘follow’ the head turns as you already have a lot of momentum. generally it’s easier to balance when spinning fast if you keep your head and body in the same position, there is a bit of dizziness but it’s not at all hard to get used to. I’ve just started out on roller skates so i don’t know if it’s the same ? I know there’s a lot more spinning on ice than on wheels, and it does seem different with roller skates (on ice spinning on 2 feet isn’t really done past beginner level). anyway it’s interesting , I’ll have to try it out when I get into spinning :)
She says safe space but I been rollerskating for a while and the Biggest setback for me is to much confidence and trying so show off when I'm new still
I bought white with pink wheel roller skates because when I saw your vid I said u know what ima get this bc I’ve been wanting roller skates and now Ima get them one day before Christmas or after😁♥️🙌🏼🛼
I just got my first skates through today and I can’t do anything other than roll, can’t even skate but right now I’m just focusing on getting a feel for the skates and what it’s like to have wheels attached to my feet 😂 hopefully I’ll start to get it soon
I’m so proud of you!!!!! You’re doing great and you always look so amazing!! I finally figured out the front skate-transition-backwards skate by trying out a different transition that works so much better for me. With the transition I was trying before, it kept turning into a spin on accident, so I think that I’m going to try to turn that into a spin on purpose? 😅 Also, I’m currently on Impalas, but they hurt my feet because I have wide feet and didn’t realize they’re not really good for wide feet...so I’m looking into a second pair of skates now. Really wanted to get the Night Fever ones you have, but they’re not in stock at the moment. I’ve heard some really good things about Sure Grips and how they’re wonderful for wide feet, so I think I’m gonna get some of those as my second pair of skates and save the Night Fevers for pair number 3 later on down the line 😄
Guys, I've been skating for 5 years now. A mental tip is think that falling doesn't mean failure, the most professional skaters fall, we all do. Just now another roller skater that isn't a beginner won't make fun of you, we actually admire you for trying, when you fall try harder. A tip for a spin is extend your arms in an L form when going to spin and when you start spinning put your arms in your chest in an x form. When falling make sure that if you fall frontwards always put your hands in front of your face so you don't hit it. Hope this helps. Reply to this comment if you guys have any questions.
I think spinning with your arms spread out will help you get those spins better.. tucking your arms in is more for gaining momentum when you're already spinning faster :)
Im also really jealous of the dancing move you did at 8:23 I've been wanting to be that graceful edit: I gave away my moxi wheels because I decided I didn't feel comfortable supporting that business but I've heard the energy wheels are great where did you order yours ?
I love what I'm seeing your doing great for just a beginner! Are you sure your a beginner? 😅 Your doing great on your spins and what I was gonna give you advise on you already did! I was also wondering if you were going to try skating on ramps? Sorry if you already answered this I'm new to your channel. Skating on ramps is very fun and I highly recommend. Do you have hard wheels or soft? I recommend soft for spinning and they are ment for the street/bumpy serfaces.
Thank you for checking out my videos!! I promise you I'm a beginner 😂 I'm currently using hybrid wheels I believe, they're the radar energy 57 x 78A. I haven't tried ramps because I'm more interested in dance skating, but who knows maybe I'll get on a ramp or go to a skate park some day!
@@cheunglindaa Sounds great! I'm into both dance and ramps I never thought I'd go on ramps but it ended up being very fun and I love it. Your gonna become a great skater one day I promise because only the best fall a lot when they first start and it's a good thing to learn to fall.
I love the midnight rollers you have!😍 Are they considered outdoor skates? I'm assuming since you use them outdoors...forgive me I'm still new to a lot of this!🙈
