Terpsichorean Dances

Terpsichorean Dances by Jodie Blackshaw is played by the South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble and 28 outstanding high school musicians from 16 high schools. The band is directed by Guest Conductor Dr. Julia Baumanis from Rutgers University in a concert held on April 28, 2024 titled, Band Dancing. The piece calls for an unusual percussion instrument called the "Lagerphone", which has over one hundred beer caps attached to a stick. The instrument is played by SJAWE percussionist, Matthew Vibora. The background video was compiled by Jame Tucker.
