I'll take a tradesman who has had "on the job training" ANY DAY over some "schooled" tradesman .... I can't tell you how many people there are who use "school" as an excuse not to go to work ...... You can learn a LOT ON THE JOB WORKING ...... Best way ON THE JOB TRAINING ...... This is why I get sick of hearing the government saying "we need more trade schools" ... No we don't , we need more young people going to work ..... Do we think all these illegals taking our jobs went to "painter school" ????

@@connorolson1712 Nope , but they have made it much harder to get work since they have flooded in by the MILLIONS , and I know a LOT of people's jobs they have taken ..... You rarely see any blacks in construction anymore , they used to be all over the construction industry , nowdays not so much , illegals have pushed them out big time ..... soooooo , many our now on welfare ......
I'm a firm believer in on the job training. But my biggest problem has always been simply getting hired. Even back in my 20's. I'm very willing to work, but have had problems getting any type of blue collar jobs...i.e. construction, landscaping, painting, warehouses, etc. I wound up working in the logging industry for 16 years. It's the only thing that's ever worked out for me.
But after so many years of insanely long commutes, and also many years camping out of town as well, and low annual pay, I'm tired of all that and have been trying to get jobs closer to home. I've spent the last year sending dozens of applications/resumes, only had 4 interviews, and still nothing.
@@yearginclarke I have rarely "filled out job applications" , MOST of my working life in construction , I just found a crew working somewhere and asked if they need help , I have owned my own business for 30 years now ..... I'm not rich , but I should be , I lost a ton in the stock market , a ton ..... stupid me , now I'm just gettin by .... Anyway , best of luck to you , hope you get hired somewhere that you like .... I know it's tough nowdays , our entire society and work environment is a mess .....

There is no BIG PROBLEM with the painting industry .... It's fine just the way it is ..... The BIG PROBLEM is with our society , we pay people NOT to work and everything is school school school ..... It's time to go to WORK , period , you'll learn plenty , GO TO WORK WORK WORK ...... It is time for a new philosophy in America .... WORK OR STARVE for the able bodied , no more free stuff ..... Guarantee all those jobs "Americans won't do" ?? THEY'LL DO .... They just need some hungry bellies . they'll go to work
