    Please keep this in mind.
    My videos are normally 1 to 2 weeks old by the time they get to UA-cam. So I can't do anything you suggest as I don't own a time machine.
    Also please watch the video before commenting something that's already covered in the video.

    Glad to see you fixed Derek. Didn't know about that power mod, even though I've done a fair few mods to mine. Certainly didn't know about the starter motor thing either & will bare that in mind! Thanks Spicy, some very useful info in this one.

    excellent, i am discovering this exact same issue with my sisters drz, randomly stopping, not starting on the button and having already figured i could bump the starter round a bit, , , sussing that the starter motor is probably on its way out, its been good to find your video addressing all these issues combined. unfortunatly for me it all began after the generator dropped a phase and had no charging, new generator went on, , , , , and no spark!!! slap myself on the wrist for buying a cheap crap generator with pulse pickup, never again. fit a genuine but secondhand generator and back up and running, but with the issues you address in this video, naturaly i kept thinking its a generator/pulse pickup coil issue, which it isnt, it just happened to coincide with my previous issue!!! bikes eh, , , ,you gotta love'em, , like a smack in the balls with a role of tape!!!😆

      Haha I hope this proves to be the case and that it is an easy fix. What I can say is I have had 2 faults show for the first time in 200 meters riding. Later proving to be 100% unrelated to each other! HAHA You have to talk nice to a DRZ they get offended easily it seems. Honestly, it all started for me when I throw a snowball at it in a video.

    Cast your mind back a few years ago when there was the UK DRZ FORUM.
    Fragmaster Karl who had the red and black DRZ ran it but couldn't continue with the site as he had other commitments at the time.
    You would be the perfect candidate to take it over and grow your channel.
    Also, premises 187 was a member of the site so he could give you some pointers on how to moderate it and bring all the disbanded UK DRZ owners back together.
    You would also inherit the help pages that solved anything to do with the DRZ. (Including my diagnosis)
    .....told you it was the side stand switch causing a problem!

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  5 років тому

      Now those are names I have not heard in years!!!
      That is an interesting idea but wouldn't i have to just start a new page? Or do you know the current owner?

    There is an electrical problem on my Drz400sm motorcycle.
    There is electricity in the indicator, but there is no electricity in the headlights, turn signals and rear brake lights. The starter motor relay does not respond.

    It is best to have the fuse as close to the power source. Since in this alternation, the power is coming from the stator and the battery is the destination. I would have put the fuse as close to the stator as possible.

    yup, knocking the starter motor because the carbon "brushes" are dying ... next step, bending the starter's cap out of shape because knocking and still doesn't start, that means the old coil in it is shorting somewhere.

      @@Mrflash222006 I moved away from deans to XT60/90 and XT150s a long time ago as they are sooo much easier to solder, they're also far more efficient and less likely to melt on higher power systems than deans. I probably should get some help hands but I'm tightass lol

      I used deans in the past, but I have moved on, deans where a pig to solder, you could melt the terminals out the housing on the cheap connectors - you wan a decent connector when pulling 2-300 amps other wise it gets toasty

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  5 років тому +1

      Lol that's mostly dust from the floor. I do have small strips on the rear as its a 160 on a 150 rim and the pilot 2 has a strange side wall that just keeps going I would hit the pegs before hitting the edge. Also learn a bit about chicken strips and how they don't denote cornering speed....well unless it's like 3 inches each side...
